The cocoa Countryman B2D Lavalier Mic for Audio Technica Wireless Transmittersfrom Countryman B2D Lavalier Mic for Audio Technica Wireless Transmittersfeatures a lightweight 0.18-ounce body that was designed to be discreetly mounted and can be used for miking news anchors, actors in a film or theater setting, lecturers in a school or house of worship type environment.

The B2D's tight hypercardioid pattern gives the mic an extra 6-10 dB of headroom compared to an omnidirectional lavalier mic, which means less problems with feedback, ambient noise, room rumble, and phase cancellations when using multiple microphones.

This version offers medium gain for very loud speaking, such as in theater performances and most vocals. In addition, the B2D lavalier is equipped with a hardwired cable that terminates to a cH-style 4-pin connector for direct connection to Audio Technica ATW-T5201 wireless bodypack transmitters.

[Hypercardioid] I have a Sony wireless lav and have gone through 2 Sony lavs due to the poor design of the cable going into the connector. Talked to a B&H audio consultant on the phone and she suggested the B3. Definitely seems to be a lot stronger at the connector. 5

[Cocoa] I like the flexibility of this product in that it enables varied positioning. All that's needed is tape specifically designed for attachment to skin and in my case the upper cheek of my face. It has clear sound and is comfortable to wear. 5

[Hypercardioid] I'm a professional video guy but not a professional audio guy. I was having issues trying to hide big ole mics that probably shouldn't be hidden (due to size and causing clothing noise because of that). A professional audio friend of mine recommended this mic and I'm so happy that I bought it. Easy to hide, beautiful sound. I couldn't be happier. [1 to 2 V] I bought the B3 as a replacement for my sennheiser ME-2 stock mic, because I do a lot of filming in noisy office environments with air conditioning and ventilation. [Plug-In Power] Very good in general - great for the cost. The B3 pairs well with the Senheisser G3 wireless packs. It sounds better than 'starter' mics like the ME2. Sanken sounds a bit better but costs a lot more. I think the B3 is in the sweet spot for moderate budget TV and film. The capsule tips included help shape the sound. 5
