The enhanced Sigma 24mm T1.5 FF Cine Prime PL Mount /i Technologyfrom Sigma 24mm T1.5 FF Cine Prime PL Mount /i Technologycombines the same high-quality optics and mechanics of its FF prime line with a cine-oriented design including Cooke/i Technology that provides lens metadata to assist in post and visual effects production. This 24mm prime with PL mount is a wider focal length in the series offering full-frame sensor coverage, 6 to 8K resolution, lens markings in feet, and a T1.5 maximum aperture in a compact, lightweight form.

A common 95mm front diameter and similar physical attributes across the lens line makes it easier and quicker to mount lens accessories such as matte boxes, follow focuses, and lens control motors. The 9-bladed iris produces pleasing out-of-focus bokeh effects and ghosting and flaring have been minimized. Color reproduction is standardized for easier color correction. Each lens in the range offers consistent lens gear positions and 180° of focus barrel rotation. The FF High-Speed Cine Prime lenses also feature a clickless iris with linear markings, dampeners on each gear ring for silent operation, and industry-standard 0.8 MOD gear pitch.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Autofocus?

A: The ZEISS Nano Prime 24mm T1.5 Cine Lens (Sony E, Feet) provide eXtended lens data but have no autofocus.

Q: 2. If I were to get this for my C100 (super 35mm Sensor), would the lens then translate to 35-40mm?

A: The C100 has a Super35 sensor and the Rokinon 24mm will convert to roughly a 36mm.

Q: 3. Why are these Rokinon lenses costing almost 10x as much as the Canon mount versions?

A: That is a fair question. The difference between consumer and pro level cine style lenses comes down to functionality on set. In order that the exacting work of movie making be as efficient, reliable, and consistent as possible, there need to be certain design parameters. 1. Excellent resolution, color and contrast image quality that all lenses in the line match. This is so you can cut between them in editing and not waste time making sure each lens seamlessly has the same look.2. A big barrel is needed by the 1st Camera Assistant for precise focus control.3. A common size front diameter is desired so the matte box fits all of the lenses quickly, without fiddling with adapters. The placement of the gears on the lens must be in the same place so less time is used on set adjusting follow focus devices and remote motors for focus and iris. Finally, similar weight lenses mean less time balancing MoVI, Steadicam and other stabilizing devices.4. The DS line has 8 iris blades which is good for bokeh. The Xeen line has 11 blades which is better. All of these parameters cost money. As you go in the filmmaking world, you will see the benefits they provide.

Q: 4. Is this an anamorphic lens with what squeeze factor?

A: The Meike FF Prime Cine 24mm T2.1 Lens is not an anamorphic lens.

Q: 5. Does it come with a lens hood?

A: A detachable petal shaped lens hood is included.

Q: 6. Is it only marked in feet?

A: No, the DZOFilm Arles FF/VV Prime Cine 5-Lens Set (ARRI PL) can be easily switched from feet to meters.

Q: 7. Are there contacts for lens data?

A: The Canon 20mm Sumire Prime T1.5 (PL Mount, Feet) does not have contacts that would provide lens data to the connected camera.

Q: 8. how will it work with Sony PMW F3?

A: You can use this lens on that camera. You will need an adapter. See below. You will not need the adapter's aperture feature with this lens but you will if you get Canon EF lenses.

Q: 9. Does this set come with a case?

A: No, the Sigma T1.5 Cine FF High-Speed Art Prime 5-Lens Set does not come with a case.

Q: 10. I had the same question, “Is the case is included with the 5-lens kit?” When I ordered the 5-lens kit on 06/14/24 it was listed.

A: No, there is no case included in the DZOFilm Arles FF/VV Prime Cine 5-Lens Set (ARRI PL). Cases will be available at a later time.

[24mm] I have all 3 of the available PL mount versions of these lenses. I used on 2 proffesional shoots and WOW WOW WOW - I still cant get over the IQ for the price but with only 1 gripe---lets get out of way-- (no focus marks on AC side) not a big deal using FF on op side typically or remote FF if I have an AC so its not really an issue) If you are looking here you like consider the DZO Vespid line. TRUE they have a full set. However they have a very vintage look with oval bokeh and bad CA(on a few focal lengths) Those are smaller lighter and MARGNIALLY sharper true) however these lens have very little CA very little if any breathing depending on FL- propper full 330 rotation on focus, they are bigger but still small- However dont look SILLY on my RED like the Vespids do. I cant say this enough MEIKE hit a homerun here and I have ZERO regrets. Just wish the whole set was already available (24mm coming end of NOV 21) ---you cant go wrong here.

[82 mm] I've used ROKINON lenses which were quite above average. The Sirui anamorphic lens was even better. I just finished my first feature using the Sirui. Now that I just used this Meike FF on my Bmpcc4k for my trailer.... I am just blown away by the depth of field, bokeh and color depth of this lens. The quality, the weight, the build quality is on par to a much more expensive cine lens. This is the range of a 5k plus cine lens. I'm planning on buying the other focal lengths as well

[43.3 mm] I compared many lenses in this range, and it came down to these and the Tokina Vistas. The Tokina's had a beautiful image, but for $6k a lens, I was sure if the value was there.

So I pulled the trigger on a set of these sigmas, and I couldn't be happier. It's the best value for the dollar. I've used their art photo line, but these seem to have a better resolution, they are crispier, and the bokeh falls off like butter. You won't find a better value for the price. The next level up is $6-7k, then $10k

[T1.5] I seriously LOVE what these lenses do as an intro set of Cine glass. As a long time Sigma Art series user I didn't realize how much of an upgrade this was going to be from Photo glass. I'm super happy with the money i spent on this and also the 35mm. I will be getting the 24mm and 85mm ASAP!

[T16] This lens is breathtaking. At T1.5 it gets a fantastic creamy look that is not achievable with the 85 or 135. I highly recommend.

[3.075 lb] I actually purchased the 24, 50 and 85 version of this lens. This thing is built like a tank. Picture quality is beautiful and works great with our Z Cam E2 F6.

[Imperial] I really love this lens. It just stays on the Ursa permanently. Many great directors use the 50mm as a standard (I'm thinking of Ozu), and I've personally always found the 50mm the most versatile focal length. And this lens is superb. I used the Rokinon lenses before this, which I appreciated, but this lens has more character. I really like the long throw, the build quality, and just the creamy look of this lens.
