[Integrated] I was looking for a decently powerful desktop machine for my personal use. Also due to the space constrain i would prefer a small footprint machine. After digging through numerous online searches and reviews, i finally fixed myself on this machine. After placing order, it arrived Qatar in 5 days. Upon receiving it took another day for me to complete the setup because i had ordered some of the components from other places. Since the 1st day of use, i'm never done with praising and talking about this machine. This machine has exceeded all of my expectations. My primary use of this machine are productivity (Light Audio/Video Work/Documentation/ Data) and daily media consumption Hence, i'm still waiting for discovering any cons to report on this category. Regarding the gaming which is not my use case, i did try few titles which came free from Intel with this purchase they ran smoothly . The brilliant part of this machine is the i/o . With plenty of ports, it is so versatile that this machine looks like from future.

Pros:
Compact, Small footprint
Vesa Mountable
Plenty of I/O, Seamless Possibilities.
Powerful Performance for daily computing needs.

Cons:
None

[BGA 1528] I wanted a PC with an eight-generation I7 desktop CPU, not a slower laptop U-series chip, with plenty of ports including modern ones. This is the only box I could find other than farm more expensive gaming machines. Although there are a few negative reviews on A****, the NUC817HNK is perfect for me. It's powerful and up-to-date without being subject to the laptop "tax."

I'm using it with Crucial CT2K16G4SFD824A DDR4 SO-DIMMs and a Samsung MZ-N6E1T0BW 860EVO M.2 SSD.

[1x HDMI 2.0b] Nice and small, low TDP, and a great CPU benchmark. Sure beats the old style ATX motherboard behemoths (unless youre a gamer and need a dedicated card). This will serve me for the next half dozen years.

[5.2] I am very pleased with the form and function of the Hades Canyon NUC. It has a generous compliment of input and outputs that future proof it, the fans are quieter than any previous NUC I've dealt with even under load and with the HUGE GLOWING SKULL turned off is actually quite discrete looking.

I chose the HNK despite the slightly slower GPU and lack of an unlocked CPU, this is why:

1. 65w vs 100w = better temps, lower cost of operation, longevity
2. Overclocking in a system of this size is risky
3. The faster GPU isn't really a gaming powerhouse either, I'm using this to edit video with some light gaming, if you want to go big, use an external GPU enclosure with its Thunderbolt 3 port.

I'm very happy as a long time NUC user with the speed, design and features.

[1x HDMI 2.0b] Using it as a music / video server. Had a Raspberry PI based system, upgraded to this. Wow. Do it.

Takes up the same side-to-side space that the Pi did if you include all the cables coming out every which way of the Pi. The NUC is much neater. It looks like it belongs in the entertainment center.

Stable and capable for this purpose. One suggestion is to get the tall one (as I did) rather than the small one. The ability to add much cheaper 2.5 SATA storage down the road is worth it.

[4 MB] While this device is a bit more underpowered than say a full custom build, it does the job or replacing a gaming console with better capabilities, as well as allows me to work from a small, stat competent machine as well. More powerful than my standard business laptop, more outputs than my standard desktop, and more than enough USB and thunderbolt ports to expand capabilities in the future. I highly recommend if you want something to replace a Sony or Microsoft console with a small, reasonably priced and capable Steam machine, or if you need a work device that has all the ports your laptop doesn't, while consuming less power than a full-on desktop. Note - the power brick is about half the size of this computer - it's big.

[5.2] I purchased this NUC for use as a web-server. I wanted a SFF computer where the OS runs on one drive and the web-server information is stored on a secondary drive. This NUC is perfect as it allows me to have storage for the OS (the m.2 drive), and then a second storage location (the 2.5 SSD) for the web-server information.

[1x HDMI 2.0b] Among several NUC's at home, I replaced a 5th gen NUC with this 13th gen model. It serves as a media center for my music and photo collection, hence the 1 TB SSD and 16 GB memory. For those unfamiliar with the Intel NUC product line, they are small (4x4), very quiet, well-engineered and supported by a three-year warranty. Over the years, I have installed dozens for customers and not a single one has failed so far. The performance is impressive. The clip that keeps the power cord from inadvertently being yanked out is a fairly recent and useful addition. Intel has excellent documentation (assembly instructions, product specs) that I recommend. During installation of Windows 11, neither the wired Ethernet nor the Wi-Fi adapter were recognized which required an Ethernet-to-USB adapter. Others may add the network drivers during installation. Installing the Intel Driver & Support Assistant gets the optimal BIOS, firmware and drivers in place. Now that Intel has sold the NUC line to Asus, I hope that they will continue the development and support of this great product.
