The PVM-X2400 monitor falls into Sony's Grade 2 monitor hierarchy, suitable for viewing applications such as on set (DIT cart, video village), on location (in the field or in mobile trucks), and in editing suites or broadcast studios (playback, audio mixing, monitor wall, or machine room).

The PVM-X2400 supports a wide color gamut. By design, it replicates the same color space as that of the Grade 1, BVM-series monitors, including the Trimaster BVM-HX310 color grading master monitor. With accurate color reproduction between the two types, content creators can be confident that content viewed on set will be reproduced in the color grading suite. The PVM-X2400 supports both UHD 4K and HD formats, as well as a wide range of HDR EOTFs including 2.4 (HDR), ITU-R BT.2100 (HLG), SMPTE ST2084, S-Log3, and S-Log3 (Live HDR).

The monitor provides two 12G/6G-SDI and two 3G-SDI inputs in addition to an HDMI input. This enables support for a 4K signal using a single cable. The inputs also support four 3G quad-link inputs for 4K, four independent HD inputs, or four HD signals fed to quad-view display.

The PVM-X2400 can be used to display a single UHD 4K or HD picture or can be put into quad-split view mode, enabling the simultaneous display of four independent HD signals. Each signal can have a different EOTF and different LUT applied. The quad-view mode is ideal for comparing different "looks", verifying exposure between cameras, or to monitor four different signals for space-saving convenience.

The monitor supports 3D user LUTs in .cube 33x33x33 and 17x17x17 formats. LUT files can be loaded via the USB port located at the front of the monitor. Up to 30 files can be stored. A user LUT can also be applied to signals connected over HDMI.

Video Payload Identifier (VPID) is ancillary data that can be set in the SDI input signal to assist a device to quickly decode the incoming video format. It is part of the SMPTE ST352 standard and is used to identify video format, color encoding, colorimetry, aspect ratio, and other factors. If a signal contains VPID data and the VPID feature is switched on, the PVM-X2400 monitor will automatically detect the flag and set monitor settings such as EOTF, RGB range, color space, and matrix to display the content correctly.

The PVM-X2400 provides internal scopes that can be used to measure and verify incoming signals. These include waveform (Luma (Y), RGB parade, YCbCr parade, and RGB overlay), SDR/HDR scales, vectorscope, and audio level meters, and all can be displayed simultaneously. Scope position is also selectable.

The user interface of the monitor has been improved to simplify day-to-day operations. The menu structure is shallower, and the status page now allows changes to be made to settings directly without the need to search within the menu for specific parameters. In addition, user presets can now be named to make identification clearer. For Example, "User 1 Preset" can be assigned an actual name to give it context for easy identification.

The PVM-X2400 comes standard with a handle and is VESA mount compatible. It also supports the PVMK-RX24 rack mount and PVMK-PX24 protection panel, sold separately. While a power supply is included, the monitor can also be powered via an optional 28V battery connected via a 3-pin interface on the rear.

[3840 x 2160] High accurate, phenomenal monitor. We have both the Vision 17 and Vision 24 and they complement each other well, with the 24 being the display with true 10-bit color versus 8+2 on the Vision 17, although honestly I can't see the difference in real world use. There really isn't much competition for 4K HDR reference-grade monitors that can be battery powered and are suitable for both color-critical post production and production on set or in the field. These monitors are it! Like all SmallHD monitors they are easy to use and loaded with just about every tool you could want. IMPORTANT NOTE: SmallHD very unhelpfully changed the specs at the 11th hour after release and the Vision 24 can only be powered by 26v batteries (and also A/C). It cannot be powered by 14v batteries as the dual battery plate (not included) description implies. If you are using dual voltage CoreSWX Helix batteries, you will need an adaptor plate to activate the 26v mode.

[Yes] [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] 27 inch inzone monitor made by Sony is definitely a premium technology to play games on. Comes with the basics to assist you in getting set up. However, there is no HDMI or display port cord provided. Set up is very easy. The stand is shaky and has limited height range nor does it swivel. The 4k delivers a rich and bright resolution. But the sound quality sounds tinny and hollow. Overall, it is still a great gaming monitor.

[Yes] [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son has been using this monitor for his ps5 and loves it. Set up was very simple and only took him a few minutes. He is big on things matching and loves that the white on the monitor stand and the led lighting on the back of the monitor are the same as the ps5. The 4k resolution is amazing. Everything looks so bright and clear. It's perfect for gaming and watching movies. Would definitely recommend!

[TFT LCD] I mounted my new M9 to the sleeper of my semi truck. Perfect fit and no hassles with a standard mount. When I ran it with my laptop on a NVIDIA 2070 super,, wow! I am using the DP port to provide the HDMI port for my console although I had not realized there are two HDMI ports available.
The clarity is great and the lighting features are fantastic for my specific requirements in a small dark area. I played with the controller features and was actually having some fun with the various settings available. I have been trying out all of my installed games on max graphic settings and using 4k textures and have found zero disappointment. I feel like a kid in Christmas right now.

[3840 x 2160] I replaced my 2016 LCD Bravia with this unit. Aside from the very superior picture on the new BZ30J (Sony has the BEST picture), Chromecast and Airplay finally work consistently. And the HDMI ARC on this new units sends audio back to my high-end AV audio system in ways I've only dreamed about until now. These commercial displays have a 3 year warranty which tells me this unit should live long and last. Another fine find at B&H

[16:9] [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] "I had the opportunity to try out a 4K gaming monitor with G-Sync, and I have to say I was thoroughly impressed with the performance. The 27-inch display may be a bit smaller than some other options on the market, but the high resolution and fast refresh rate make for a stunning visual experience.

One of the standout features of this monitor is the G-Sync technology, which helps to eliminate screen tearing and input lag. This is especially useful when playing fast-paced games or when using a high refresh rate, as it helps to keep the gameplay feeling smooth and responsive.

In terms of connectivity, the monitor has a range of inputs including HDMI and DisplayPort, making it easy to connect to a variety of devices. The on-screen display is easy to navigate and allows for a range of adjustments to be made, including color calibration and the ability to turn on and off various features such as the G-Sync technology.

Overall, I was extremely happy with the performance of this 4K gaming monitor with G-Sync and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a high-quality display that delivers an immersive and smooth gaming experience. The smaller size makes it a great fit for any setup."

[3840 x 2160] [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Ive gone ahead and used this monitor now with my PS5 and my Series X and the quality compared to my TV is outstanding. The setup was super easy, it pretty much set itself up with my consoles. The stand it comes with is super sturdy and since I do like to put my feet up on my desk or sometimes get too into my games and shake the table this thing is absolutely planted to the ground. Spend the money and improve your gaming setup. Its well worth it.
