This 72mm Haida NanoPro ND Filter 72mm 16.5-Stopfrom Haida NanoPro ND Filter 72mm 16.5-Stopprovides a 16.5-stop increase in neutral density, offering control of available shutter speeds or aperture settings for both still and video applications. Using a longer shutter speed makes it possible to increase image blur to convey a sense of movement, useful when shooting moving water. Increased density also makes it possible to shoot using wider lens apertures, helping to isolate a subject from the background and reducing depth of field.

This filter is made from optical glass that features multicoating for reduced lens glare, providing optimal light transmission. It also features nano coating on each optical surface that resists water, oil, dust, fingerprints, and scratches, making it ideal for use in harsh environments, and also easy to clean. The slim aluminum filter ring can be used on wide-angle lenses without vignetting, and it features front threading that allows additional filters or accessories to be added.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can this be stacked or combined with another B+W ND filter?

A: Yes it can be stacked with any 39mm filter.

Q: 2. is the level detachable? If so, can I still use the lens hood on my rf 24-105mm without the level?

A: The lever is detachable but the filter ring is too large to be used inside the Canon hood. A screw on hood could be used instead such as this: https://bhpho.to/35j7SrF

Q: 3. Will the Haida Red Diamond 100mm filters fit their M10-II filter holder?

A: Yes it is compatible with the M10-II filter holder.

Q: 4. Is this a thin filter for use with a wide angle lens?

A: This is not classified as a thin filter.

Q: 5. I would assume that when placing an order for these filters, the same sizing rules apply as with the UV Filters... is that correct? Do you also look at the inside/reverse side of your lens caps? Both lens caps for my Canon 18-55 mm and my Canon Zoom (75-300mm) lens Cap say they are 58mm... so I need to order 2 x 58mm UV Filters, correct?

A: That would be correct. The sizing for the ND filters (filter thread) would be the same as that for UV filters. If the reverse side of your lens caps say 58mm, then you would need to order the 58mm ND filter.

Q: 6. Will this work with a step up ring?

A: Yes, the Neewer Magnetic Variable ND Filter will work with a step up ring.

Q: 7. This filter does not seem to be coated to reduce flares and ghosting. Has anybody had these issue flare up?

A: I purchased one of these filters about a year ago and have found it excellent my my uses. I haven't had any issues with ghosting /flaring. I think this shade of filter is ideal, I often use it in combination with a circular polariser also from B&W on a Canon 16-35mmf4L for seascapes in relatively bright light. If you are going to combine filters make sure to get some plastic filter wrenches as they can bind.together a bit

Q: 8. Why does the stock photo, depicting 'Without Filter' and'With Filter', show quite a corruption of the color with filter?

A: No idea, I bought one of these, and it seems to be neutral density. I notice that colors saturate more with long exposures, but the color are true.

Q: 9. Is this filter stackable?

A: Yes, you could stack this filter.

Q: 10. Hi there , will this fit my 16-35mm lens ?

A: If your lens is Canon 16-35 mm f/2.8 then Yes, 82 mm is your filter size.

[72 mm] Crisp clean image. Had some great results first time out on a 125 second exposure right before sunset.

[Glass] I've never used an HD filter before so I went on live chat to B&H and they were so helpful in pinpointing what was going to be best filter for what I was using it for.

This filter was recommended as it has thin glass so I would hopefully not get the vignette when using through day.

I have not been disappointed. The filter arrived 2 days after purchasing it online and the results I've got from using it have been incredible.

I would definitely use B&H again when deciding on my next photography purchase. They were extremely knowledgeable and this has resulted in me getting the product I was hoping for.

[Glass] I own the Lee Filters 'Big Stopper 3.0 ND filter (10 stop) and have used it quite often. After seeing the reviews on this filter, I thought I would try it against the Lee system. This filter produces more natural and warmer colors than the Lee, the contrast seems to look a little better. Haida's M10 filter system doesn't leave a lot to be desired though but their ND filters are definitely worth the investment!!! This filter will work in the Lee holder,as it comes with a layer of foam that can be applied to keep light from bleeding past. I am very pleased with the results and would highly recommend this filter for anyone who wants to do long exposure photography.

[0.155 lb] I have had the Lee Filters NDs for several years, and after trying Haida's 6 and 10 stop filters I will not go back. The Haida ND filters have a more natural color balance then the Lee. I had purchased their filter holder system as well but I didn't like it and kept my Lee holder system. This filter does work in the Lee holder though it does fits very tightly, not necessarily a bad thing as it is light tight. I am very pleased with these filters!

[Solid ND] No complaints. I got some great photos of sun spots and of the eclipse.

[72 mm] Purchased the 6 and 10 stop versions to pair with the Kase K9 holder. Both of these filters create superb results with no loss in sharpness and no color cast whatsoever. Made the switch from a screw-on variable density that always caused problems under bright and side lighting conditions. These allow very accurate control of exposure to create blurred water / clouds. Easy to clean and sheds water well. Great value.

[Aluminum] Filter worked great for photographing the sun before and during today’s eclipse! JPEGs straight from my camera from using it are attached, and I’m thrilled that this filter came through on such a rare and time sensitive event.

[Glass] Works well with my Nikon Z lens. Best to use this kind of filter in manual mode. Looking forward to trying it during the Eclipse.

[Glass] I bought the 95mm version well in advance of the eclipse. Later on, after reading Q&A, this wasn't recommended for shooting at the sun, so I purchased another brand. I ended up testing both, but didn't like the build quality/quality assurance (it needed to be cleaned) of the 2nd brand. I stuck with the Haida and kept the other as a backup. I liked the neutral color rendition and clarity of the Haida, plus the thicker ring made it easier to thread and remove during totality. Good product.

[Glass] Allows for very low ISOs to photograph the Sun. The color tone is slightly warm, but easy to adjust in editing software. The top row of this image is with this 16.5 stop filter and the lower images are with the 20 stop Haida filter. Sony A7r3 and Sony 200-600mm lens.
