The Shape Quick Handle + Rod Block is a professional video stabilization accessory with 2 camera handles, each providing an individual rotation angle of 360°. You can attach the handle to the camera platform using a simple screw knob. A simple push button located at the articulation allows easy attachment and removal.

Combined with the anodized aluminum Rod Block, the Quick Handle offers composite camera support for all 15mm rods. You can achieve precise positioning by sliding the Quick Handle along the rods and tightening the small red knob located on the Rod Block. With 2 screw-threaded holes, the Rod Block provides for attachment of components such as the Quick Handle.

Q: 1. Are the side parts of the cage system required to use this top plate, or does the top plate mount to the camera? I wish to use the top plate, handle and monitor mount without the rest of the cage components.

A: You can use the SHAPE Top Plate for Canon C500 Mark II and C300 Mark III as a stand alone item. It does not require other parts to mount to your camera. Part number for the Shape top handle is B&H # SHLPHT

Q: 2. Is there any way of mounting something like a Zacuto relocator to this?

A: Does SHAPE make their own control grip relocator package (bracket and cable)?

Q: 3. Is there a reason this only comes with only one handle, and why the left side (especially if you are focusing with your left hand)? The display in the store, had both handles attached.

A: The second arm is not included with the Shape kit to offer you a choice on which arm solution you would like to work with. The options are - A duplicate arm BH #SHHAND2S or BH #SHC52RH - SHAPE Remote Extension Handle with Cable for Canon C500 Mark II and C300 Mark III.

Q: 4. Can anyone recommend what matte box and follow focus to use on this? I'll be running the C100 Mark II.

A: Hi Jake,Thanks for your interest on SHAPE products. You can use a SHAPE Matte Box, tagged as SHMATT44 on BH site. For the Follow Focus you have 3 options from SHAPE as well: the SHAPE Friction & Gear Follow-Focus Clic with Adjustable Marker, the SHAPE Follow Focus PRO (SHFFPRO) and the SHAPE Follow Focus Pro Full Kit (SHFFPROKIT). Q: 6. Wondering if a c200 would work on this rig as well? I have a c100 and want to upgrade to a c200 but have several projects that will happen before that upgrade, wondering if this would fit both just fine or if I'd need to make a switch.

Installing a C200 might result in a setup where the optical center of the C200 won't be exact if you install accessories in front of your lens. Q: 7. Will this work with a RED Raven?

A: Hello Micheal, thank you for your question. The RED RAVEN can be mounted on this rig. However, since it has been developped specifically for the CANON C-SERIES and its specific optical center, you may experience some difficulties to fit accessories on the front rods like a matte box. Q: 8. I couldn't find any photos or video of this offset rig in action. I'm very curious to see how it works using the LCD screen as a monitor and how well all of the camera functions can be reached. I am also curious to see how this rig works with the hand grip. Does anyone know of any demo videos of this product?

[0.45 lb] This rig was MADE for the EOS Cinema Series cameras and it does a darn fine good job at that. Love the handles and the ease of re-positioning. Mounting the camera itself requires a screwdriver, but other then that, all the rail accessories glide nicely and secure very well with advanced engineering and tooling methods used in the construction of this fine beautiful piece of art. Got a Cinema camera and don't want to only have the viewfinder as an option, you found your rig. 5

[0.45 lb] You're looking for a cable? Well, let me tell you, this one is certainly a cable. It's got a cord, connectors, the whole deal. In all seriousness, though, this works perfectly with the C300 MK III to give you an extension to the grip. For me, it's too long, because I really only need a few inches on my cable for cable relief when I have the grip mounted to the Bright Tangerine Cage and the Kondor Blue quick release rosette mount. I can swing my handle freely, but with the stock cable it was putting strain on the handle. At least this way, there's no way I can strain my cable. I would love to see a shorter 4 or 6 inch version, but reviews are not meant to be about what the product isn't - it's about if it does what it says it does on the tin. And this does the job it's meant to do beautifully. Maybe I'll mount my grip in weird new places just because I can. 5

[0.45 lb] I have had Shape products for years now. Very nicely designed top plate for the C300 Mark iii, I use it on every shoot and I'm planning to equip my other mark iiis with it very soon. It has everything I need on it, threaded holes of various sizes, anti-rotating for ARRI products, and a nice rod holder at the front. Very sturdy too. Great product! 5

[0.45 lb] I have two C500 mark ii cameras which I equipped with Shape's cages. I always leave my cameras in the cages, they fit like a glove. I especially like the top handle part. Very solid product on documentary shoots, it's easy to put together and when I had to extend my top handle to a longer one, they supplied me with the right parts for me to do so. I like being able to call a company and see they take the time to help you customize your gear. I was obviously talking to people who work in the industry, they understand your needs and they talk the same language. 5
