Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. does the lens retain focus to infinity ? does the lens still focus to infinity?

A: Yes. Infinity is good. This is a one time adapter. It is not permanent, but you want to apply it and the tiny set screws in a controlled environment. Then leave the adapter on. For that task it works well.

Q: 2. It looks similar to the product #RE31070002, what is the difference?

A: They are very similar, however the powerPack Canon Cinema EOS kit is specifically for use with ultraCage for Canon Cinema EOS. RE31070002 is a universal powerPack.

Q: 3. What is the weight limit of this adapter? I want to attach a 2 pound lens to a BMPC.

A: Hi and thanks for your question. two pound lens is fine for this adapter. The weak link for this would be the lens mount itself, so we would highly recommend a lens support such as the microLensSupport.

Q: 4. Does this work with Canon C300 Mark II? If yes, is there a special power cable in order for it to work?

A: Hi Frankthanks for asking - yes it does work for C300 MK II. you just need the proper cable to connect to that camera. Make sure you dial in the correct voltage into the variable voltage port (check your camera's specs for details) and don't change it once it's correctly setI hope that answers your question

Q: 5. How thick is the adapter when inserted between the lens and the camera body?

A: The adapter is about 2mm thick.

Q: 6. Does this mean you can put canon ef lenses on a nikon d5500?

A: Hi - this lens mount adapts Nikon F-mount lenses to Canon EF bodies.

Q: 7. Do the set screws leave any permanent mark, digit, scratches if you remove these later? Would I regret this type of mount if I want to remove it later?

A: We have not received any reports of the set screws on this adapter set causing damage to the lens mount.

Q: 8. I have had these adapters on my lenses for several years. Now I need to use the lenses on my Nikon camera as f mount but have lost the Allan key that came with the lenses. What is the size of the Allen key? I bought a set but it doesn’t have the right size key. Please help.

A: The size is undetermined, you can easily get a set of allen keys from home depot to match up the size.

Q: 9. Can we mount old nikkor ai lenses (28 ai f/2,8 etc.) to the Red Rock Micro adapter?

A: yes I've used the redrock adaptors on my vintage Nikkor ai lenses and they work well

Q: 10. in my order, I did not receive instructions or anything on how to apply and put in screws. can I receive some instructions to ensure I'm applying it correctly?

A: Hi Jennifer- please contact our support group at support@redrockmicro.com - BH provides this as a pre-sales resource to answer questions prior to buying. The good folks in support can answer this question for you

[0.15 lb] This is the ONLY adapter out there that has zero play between it and every lens. Even my $200 Nova adapter has play. This is the only adapter I would ever suggest for video use, because play when shooting video results in jarring video shift that is just plain ugly.

[0.15 lb] In simple, it fits nice and snug and my Nikon Nikkor f/2.0 AI lens. I've used it so far on my Canon t2i and my Canon C100 Mark 1. Fantastic. It was easy to install, just need some patience since the screws are tiny so do this in a secure area. A tip.. I would apply the screw onto the Allen key with the key facing up, then it'll stay in place as you turn it down and guide it into the hole to mount. I didn't need any tweezers. Everything you need is provided. Real simple, no taking anything apart. I wish they provided/sold spare screws just in case. But I'm sure a substitute can be found somewhere in the world. I cannot wait to expand my lens kit.

[0.15 lb] I have used various other Nikon F to Canon EF Adapters, I would have problems with them shifting when trying to pull focus. This adapter screws into the lens, so I don't have any problems with Focus Shifting.

[0.15 lb] I used 4 of these to update a set of Zeiss Milvus ZF lenses to EF mount. I went with the ZFs over the ZEs for the manual iris control and when attached correctly, these adapters feel as solid as a native EF mount.

On some lenses like the Milvus, the iris pull will become difficult if you tighten them down too much.

[Canon EF] So far my 80-200mm is rock solid on this mount. It didn't take too long for my other mount to start getting loose on that lens. I don't mind the tiny screws if it keeps things tight. Highly recommended.

[Canon EF] This was a no-brainer for turning an old Nikkor 50mm f1.8 into a pivotal lens for night shooting on my canon rebel. Great quality. Low price.

[0.15 lb] The Redrock Micro Nikon to Canon EF Adapter allows you to connect Nikon lenses to your Canon EOS camera (in this case, the camera I was using was the t3i). As I had many old Nikon lenses that were not in use, I decided to purchase an adapter. My immediate concern was that it would not fit, but upon receiving it, my worries soon dissolved as I attached the adapter. It fits perfectly on my lenses and there is no wiggle when focusing or zooming (even on my heavy Quantaray zoom lens), which is crucial for shooting video. Because the adapter requires very tiny screws and can be mildly challenging to attach, I recommend purchasing one adapter per lens. This way, you won't need to worry about removing and re-attaching the adapter to a new lens, or losing screws in the process (on that note, be sure not to lose any screws, as the adapter does not come with any replacements). All in all, this is an excellent product with good construction and excellent value. it is also one of the most affordable adapters I have seen. If you already have good Nikon lenses, this will save you potentially hundreds of dollars by allowing you to use Nikon Lenses with your Canon cameras. Happy shooting!

[0.15 lb] Hello, I hope you guys can help me. I purchased a Zeiss 135mm and a Zeiss 25mm both with nikon mount. I have a canon 6d, but I only make videos, so people told me to buy the lenses with the nikon mount and not the canon one because the nikon mount zeiss lenses come with manual aperture control. The thing is that i have the lenses, my camera and a REDROCK nikon to canon mount adapter and i really dont know how to install it on the lenses. Because there is no place for the little screws to insert! In the camera the mount fits perfect, but i dont know how to put it on the lens... it fits but theres no CLICK. Thank you all

[Canon EF] After checking all the possible options I could use (brands, sensor, sensorless etc), I purchased the Redrock Adapters for my Canon. Needless to say, I am very happy with my purchase.

Yes, they do come without the user's guide to install them, but a quickly search will give you the desired result (it took me les than a minute). I am not the most talented person with my hands, but the installation is easy and fast.

Yes, they are not the kind of adapters you are gonna be moving constantly from one lens to another (because they are not designed for that), but if you have a set of lens, the 3-pack option is a fantastic choice. I have one mounted in each one of my lenses and the behavior in all of them is fantastic (nicely fit in each one of the lenses, they do not get loose etc... even with heavy ones).

To sum up, the best option for these kind of adapters if you know what you are buying and if this is what you are looking for.
