The active optical cable (AOC) also supports a data transfer rate of up to 32 Gb/s. The cable doesn't require an external power supply. The cable is dispensed from a solid, mobile plastic spool.

[Active] There's really not much to say about a cable, so long as it works as described (it does), the cable and connectors are durable (they are), and it wasn't ridiculously expensive (it wasn't). The only thing I need to remember is that there is a catch on the DP end that I need to press to release it... and that too seems to work properly! :) 5

[Active] This cable does exactly what it's supposed to. We have purchased two of them to use to get from our server rack to two different monitors in a remote part of the room. Picture quality looks perfect just as if you're using a regular 6 ft DisplayPort cable. I have not run anything at 4 or 8K so I cannot speak to those resolutions, just using them on 2K monitors at 2k. The cable feels very high quality with good quality latches on the ends, it is not excessively bulky which made it nice to get through the walls. Be sure you pay attention to which end is the source plug and which end is the monitor plug. Direction does matter on this cable. 5
