The SHAPE Push-Button Viewfinder Mount for Canon C500 Mark II and C300 Mark III mounts onto the SHAPE Top Handle that comes in a variety of SHAPE kits (not included). It provides you with a 15mm mounting rod for side-to-side adjustment and a push-button articulation point that turns your viewfinder into a horizontal flip-out viewfinder.

The Viewfinder Mount also incorporates two additional points of push-button 360° articulation and a squared rod with spring-loaded locking lever that work in conjunction to adjust the height and orientation of your viewfinder, allowing you to place the viewfinder just where you need it.

Q: 4. 1) Can EVF-V70 work with C500? There was a firmware update for C300 for it to work, but I think C500 didn't get that... 2) How about WaveFormMonitor, does this have one?

A: Canon has not released a firmware update for the C500 that will allow this unit to work with it. We are not aware of such an update being planned for the future.

A: You can use the SHAPE Top Plate for Canon C500 Mark II and C300 Mark III as a stand alone item. It does not require other parts to mount to your camera. Part number for the Shape top handle is B&H # SHLPHT

[0.935 lb] I liked the flexibility of the stock viewfinder mount that comes with the C500 MKII, but I wanted something that allowed me to push the VF out further for using it on a shoulder setup. I tried a traditional magic arm, but it was a nightmare, constantly loosening exactly when you don’t want it to. The Shape VF mount is the answer. It adds flexibility, and stability to the larger C500 MKII viewfinder. Shape’s push-button mechanisms are a great design. It holds strong so there’s no bouncing or unwanted loosening, but is easy to manipulate when you need to adjust it. And because you are moving one axis at a time, you can adjust it safely with one hand without it falling on you. This is the best VF mount I’ve ever used by far, the quality is top notch, as you would expect from Shape. 5

[0.935 lb] I have two C500 mark ii cameras which I equipped with Shape's cages. I always leave my cameras in the cages, they fit like a glove. I especially like the top handle part. Very solid product on documentary shoots, it's easy to put together and when I had to extend my top handle to a longer one, they supplied me with the right parts for me to do so. I like being able to call a company and see they take the time to help you customize your gear. I was obviously talking to people who work in the industry, they understand your needs and they talk the same language. 5

[0.935 lb] When I got my C300 Mark iii, at first I was using the factory viewfinder mount with my Shape kit, then a friend of mine who had the whole kit told me about their viewfinder mount. I must say, great addition to my kit. So easy to use. Shape doesn't need any introduction for their Push button system.. Very effective and useful so I can put my lcd in any angle I want. Very nice design! 5

[0.935 lb] I love this V-Mount plate. I use it on my C500MK2 and it does not take too much space on the back. The only thing I don't like is that when you use it with a V-Mount battery, the screen shows 12DC and does not give you where the battery is. I wish it would show me my V-Mount battery status. 5
