A: The manufacturer provides a limited 1-Year warranty, and then there is the All State Protection Plan which is a comprehensive insurance plan.

Q: 2. What button or dial wheel controls the lens aperture on this kit? Or am I missing something here? Thanks

A: It is all controlled with this type of set up, through the touchscreen.

Q: 3. With this kit, is there an XLR input or is a separate module required for that?

A: There isn't an XLR input on any of the RED DSMN2 brains, it will require the purchase of one of the RED expansion modules that includes XLR inputs

Q: 4. Can i upgrade to the helium 8k Sensor later on with this camera if i decide to?

A: Yes, RED does a great job at providing a discount towards their latest tech from older models. Currently, almost all DSMC brains have an upgrade path to their latest DSMC2 line up. Q: 5. Could I attach a Rode Videomicro to this bracket?

A: Hello Howard, Thank you for your question! Q: 8. Heard with this being a DSMC2 that the fan will get loud after a while of use. Do you know of any external components that can drown out the noise when shooting?

[13 oz / 370 g] This really is an amazing housing for the price. The first one I had I used I actually found in the basement at my parents house. It had been sitting there for 10+ years and I did a leak test, still worked, and I used it to do surf photography for the first time. It did eventually split open at the side, but I did catch it before going in the water. It lasted a good 6 months which was amazing because it was at least 10 years old. So I bought another one! I loved the second one for a long time and my mistake was leaving it in the car in the heat :-( It shrunk because it got too hot in my trunk, then when I put the camera in it, the housing was soft and the side split open. My fault here for sure. So I bought another one, hahahaha :-) Moral of the story here is to just continuously do water checks for your housing, it is soft housing so just be aware of not leaving it in your car for a day when you aren't using it, but this has been such an amazing an affordable option for me until I can buy a proper water housing. The only downside is it is too hard to change the settings once the camera is in the housing. So I use masking tape to keep my lens set at infinity, then I set my aperture and shutter speed depending on the light, sometimes auto if it's one of those days, and then just go for it! I have taken some amazing photos and love love love how much I've learned to get creative with my settings because of the restriction of being able to change it in the moment :-) It gets 5 stars because for a tenth of the price I get to create amazing photos and enjoy surf photography! I don't have to wait to spend 2500+ on a housing to do what I want :-) And as with any type of water housing, there is always a risk of ruining your camera. I already lost one camera to the sea :-) But the joy of ocean photography is so worth it so I'm willing to jump into the possibility of doing it again! I hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine!

[13 oz / 370 g] Decided to get this over cheaper alternatives mainly due to:1) optical glass for better image quality2) adaptor to hold front of glass against your lens which really help in preventing any vignetting I do have previous experience using sports housings by aquatech for sports photography and got this more for casual beach side usage. Overall, am very satisfied by the quality of the housing and the images produced out of it.

[13 oz / 370 g] Light weight and easy to use. I started using it with my Canon EOS10D and am still using it with the EOS 50D. With all other housings I would have had to buy a new one each time I changed the camera...

[13 oz / 370 g] This is a really great housing. I have been using it for surf photography. The housings made for surf photography can run you a couple of thousand, minimum, so this one is an awesome way to get started! It's a bit tricky without being able to test the settings and the lens port requires some cropping in post when using wide angle lenses. Totally worth it though!

[1.365 lb] This product is a new toy for me. I have a few cameras but nothing like this. I found it much more easy to handle with a mini mondo stick while only useing the wrist lanyard. Useing the zoom feature, movie and photo buttons were easy but to read info on the screen , with goggles on, was impossible, so it was a case of set and forget. The camera took good photos and movies but I would only use it in this houseing for underwater use. The down side is the houseing needs “sights” to lineup subjects, and the filming light needs to be brighter or bigger or maybe a different colour so it is easier to see .I got about an hour of use from the battery which is OK seeing the camera is continually on and working the zoom. All up, it is a very good unit snorkeling and shallow diving. With more practice this unit will shine in a new world.

[13 oz / 370 g] I went diving for the first time and bought this housing to take my Canon T3i underwater with me. I only dove 7 meters/21 feet, but it worked perfectly fine for me. No leaks or moisture inside at all and it fit my Canon 10-22mm EF-S lens perfectly. There was plenty of room for the flash too. I couldn't really change settings underwater while diving, although I could in the housing above water. I was hoping to switch to movie mode at some point, but wasn't able to. In reality, I don't think I would have been able to hold it straight in front of me steady enough while diving in order to do video anyway. That's probably just because I have no diving experience though. I set it to A+ (scene intelligent auto) mode for the underwater shots so I wouldn't have to change any manual settings. I had to let almost all of the air out in order to get it below the surface of the water, even with the lead weight in the case. Since it wasn't a deep dive, I didn't have any problems with the housing shrinking around the camera at all.I was able to take some photos that I'm really happy with underwater and even above water. The glass doesn't seem to blur the image at all EXCEPT for when you're above water and have water drops on the glass. I also used this case while kayaking in the rain and those shots are blurry.

[1.365 lb] This waterproof case is dirt-simple, rugged, and relatively inexpensive. Our old Sony is a bit dated, but still a pretty good camera. Now that we have a new Nikon, I'll risk the old Sony for snorkeling duty in Central America this spring.
