Faster and easier to work with than the previous version, the prompter supports tablets ranging in size from 9 x 6" to 13 x 9". It features a 70/30 beamsplitter glass for good light transmission, and the reading range varies between 10 and 14 feet, depending on the size of the tablet you use as the text monitor.

Other improvements include an easy-to-adjust base, dual-size camera riser, and an overall lighter design than on the previous version. The magnetic hood attaches to the prompter frame and helps to prevent light from sneaking around the lens and flaring the beamsplitter glass, while providing a dark background for the on-camera talent to read the prompting text against. The camera riser uses a simple reversible design that allows you to quickly change the camera height to accommodate a variety of different cameras.

Q: 1. Hi, I have strange question for anybody who has used this teleprompter... when it is all set up does it feel secure and tight? I am considering using this on a small jib setup (I'll be securing the tablet with tape and industrial use velcro) and I just want to know if it will wobble. A: I use the teleprompter regularly, it definitely fastens very securely, but i recommend having it fastened as intended to a shoe mount on a tripod, the whole unit is decently heavy, and i would not trust it to tape or velcro, especially not at it's price point to replace. lol

Q: 2. DOES THIS FIT AN IPAD PRO M1 12.9 INCH? I read posts here. Some say it fits and others say it doesn't. Thanks!

A: Ikan suggests that the largest recommended measure is 12".

Q: 3. Is it possible to hook up two units to be fed by a single source?

A: This is a Tablet Teleprompter System, which means you would need a way to send the same signal to two tablets which is not something we are aware of at this time. Q: 4. Will this hold an Ipad Air (1st generation)?

A: Alicia, Yes, it will hold that size/dimension.

Q: 5. The specs show that this teleprompter can use a tablet of maximum size 12 x 9. Is that a hard number, or it is possible to fit one it that is a bit larger, such as 12.25 wide?

A: Sorry, but according to ikan, 12 is the maximum.

Q: 6. I want to use this in a live sports environment with a Hitachi HDZ5000 camera. I'd like to mount the prompter on it's own tripod and move the Hitachi camera in behind the hood during pregame or at half time, and then back out to cover the game. Has anyone used it as a stand alone unit? Do you forsee any problems with this plan?

A: Sounds like a plan to us. We would think if you mounted this on a light stand, i.e. a support with one pole, that should pose no issue as far as saddling up with a video tripod on a dolly. If you use a tripod for the prompter, you may or may not have issues with getting the camera tripod close enough.

A: Yes, the Blackmagic Design URSA Mini Pro can be used with this prompter. Be sure to have a tripod and video head that have the weight capacity to handle the prompter, camera, battery, and lens.

A: Very easy, you just click a slider and adjust the speed by sliding the little dot from left to right to slow or increase speed of scrolling

A: If they have, they surely regretted it. The largest camcorder suggested is a mid-level prosumer like the Panasonic DVX200.

Q: 10. Do you have to use a tablet? Can you use a monitor instead?

A: While it may be possible, it really not configured for that. The efficacy of it is in doubt. Also the question is, what monitor? A teleprompter monitor, yes, but conventional monitor is unlikely. It would need to reverse the image or have its software do it.
