[Universal] I bought this accessory to go with my Revo SR-1500 shoulder rig. Fits perfectly. Its definitely no Red Rock Micro, but it gets the job done. I love it and didnt have to spend a fortune.

[Universal] For anyone looking for a top handle for the URSA Mini Pro, I was really happy with this purchase. I wasn't interested in paying $400 for the additional shoulder mount kit, and wasn't sure of the options. This thing is sturdy as hell and I can still mount a monitor on top, perfect addition to the camera.

[Aluminum] This is my first cage so I can’t compare it to others but it does the job on my t5i with a battery grip.

[1.72 lb] Easy to assemble. Sturdy rig. Handling to well balanced and feels great to work with.

[1.72 lb] For the money I can't complain much. I don't find the top handle that useful so I think that could have been an add on and lowered the price even more. Same with the wooden handle, don't need it so would have liked the option to buy without it. The only alternative for cameras with a battery grip is the much more expensive Wooden Camera/Manfrotto tall cage, so I am still very happy with this cage and it's amazing value.

[1.72 lb] Excellent quality and performance for a generic/universal cage. Feels solid and rigid. I personally don't use the hot shoe connection to secure the camera, I use only the camera screw, which makes it much quicker/easier to attach (I'm reasonably gentile with the rig, so skipping the hot shoe connection isn't concerning me). Currently using the cage with an EOS R, and the cage is just tall enough for that camera model when utilizing the shorter 4.9-inch side rod (the longer side rod included with the kit being 5.7 inches in length). All parts of the cage can be reversed so that the side rod is on the right, EXCEPT for the wood handle, because the wood is carved to fit your left hand. Note that there is side-to-side adjustment provided for the top and bottom cheese plates (i.e. camera plates), effectively allowing you to position the side rod closer or further from your camera body (an adjustment option that is easy to overlook). The cheese stick within the top handle can be loosened and rotated around its long axis in order to give some adjustment as to which threaded holes are facing upward, however you will need to supply your own 2.5mm hex wrench (the only size of hex wrench not furnished by the manufacturer). My only quibble (minor) is that the camera screw does not have a D-ring on the bottom end to permit secure tightening without a screwdriver. I personally have not used the wood handle very much (unneeded in my use case), so I can't comment on the frequent criticism that this CAMVATE wood handle design (which is used in multiple CAMVATE products) tends to develop slop in its connection regardless of how much you try to tighten it.

[Cage] This thing is perfect for any camera that may not have a cage built especially for that model. It is a good build, was easy to put together, and is exactly what I needed for my Panasonic Lumix FZ1000.

[Universal] I just bought it and I've only used it for 3 shootings and I already love it. You immediately feel the difference between recording with your naked camera and with the cage on. The camera becomes more heavy and stable. You can shoot at low angles without any problem thanks to the top handle. It is very versatile. Everything can be reconfigured to use it on the opposite side, except the wooden handle, of course, because it is designed to fit the right hand, although you could get used to using it backwards and grabbing it with the left hand to take advantage of both the camera grip and the one from the cage (which is what I did). You can also make your own DIY wooden handle and replace it. Overall I am very satisfied with this purchase.

[Universal] Very well made may want to use lock washers on handle to ensure more stable use.

[1.72 lb] For the price it doesnt get much better than this. I cant envision myself ever spending $200+ on something like this after buying this product. The build quality is fantastic - absolutely no loose points or any wobbling once you take your time to get it adjusted to your setup. Connection points everywhere, all the hardware fits perfectly and the tools you need to set up are included, although I was provided with an additional alan wrench that doesnt appear to fit anywhere as well as extra hardware that I cannot figure out what it was intended for - not that I think I will need it seeing as the construction is quite sturdy and the materials seem high quality. The real test will be how well it holds up over time. 


PROS: Build quality is fantastic. two different size side-rods for different camera sizes, the other can be used in the 15mm rod mount on the handle. Minimal hardware


CONS: Wood is low-quality. Might be heavier than some prefer. Not easy to just pop the camera in and out of the cage, definitely requires a bit of time for setup/breakdown
