Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Check your information: The stereomicroscope should not be confused with a binocular compound microscope, which has double eyepieces. The image in such a binocular compound microscope is no different from that obtained with a single monocular eyepiece. So, does a binocular microscope render images in 3D as you claim?

A: The term stereo and binocular microscope have been used interchangeably by different manufactures. Stereo microscope are usually low powered ones as in field or dissecting microscope. where you are looking at a dimensional (3D) object. Binocular microscope are high powered compound microscope where you are looking at a biological on a glass slide with a cover slide over it (non-dimensional.) 3D effect very minimal.

Q: 2. Comes in a nice box so I could safely repackage if I moved?

A: The box that the CELESTRON LABS CB2000C Compound Binocular Microscope with 5.5 x 5.5" Mechanical Stage comes in could be used for storage and transport too.

Q: 3. The stage size is the only difference between the cb2000c and cf?

A: The CELESTRON LABS CB2000CF has a 4.3 x 4.7 Mechanical Stage/Slide Holder. The CELESTRON LABS CB2000C has 5.5 x 5.5 Mechanical Stage/Slide Holder.

Q: 4. Is the eyepiece objective removable (in order to insert a camera)?

A: These cameras go over the eyepiece, no need to remove it. Celestron 5.0MP Digital Microscope Imager (Black) B&H # CEDMIHD5MP MFR # 44422 BRESSER MikrOkular Full HD Eyepiece USB Camera (Black) B&H # BR5913650 MFR # 59-13650

Q: 5. Is there a way to add a camera that is at least 8 MP?

A: Unfortunately we do not have any Camera Attachment in our stock that has at least 8MP.

Q: 6. I notice it does not have dual lighting (no upper light, only lower). How good is the illumination for opaque objects?

A: The model has a Halogen Light, so pretty powerful.

Q: 7. camera?

A: This microscope does not come with a Camera Built In.

Q: 8. Can you confirm the voltage rating as the Celestron website shows the Can you confirm the voltage for the power as the Celestron website shows it being - AC plug (110-240V)?

A: I am using it with 240V and working properly.

Q: 9. Can I connect my CM2000CF to my computer for viewing and recording?

A: To view images from this microscope on a computer you will need Celestron 5.0MP Digital Microscope Imager B&H# CEDMIHD5MP

Q: 10. Can I connect mu CM2000CF to my computer for viewing and recording?

A: You can use a computer for viewing only if us use a Eyepiece USB Camera. Example: BRESSER MikrOkular Full HD Eyepiece USB Camera (Black) B&H # BR5913650 MFR # 59-13650

[Compound] I purchased this microscope for my granddaughter, a grade 5 student. As a retired physician with experience in using a microscope, I would judge this instrument an excellent value for its price. The illumination is of the fixed Koehler type, but there are work-arounds and the achromatic objectives are surprisingly good. Photomicrography can be a problem, not because of the microscope itself, but because of the constraints of available instruments. The Celestrone prepared slides are excellent. Richard Headstrom's Adventures with a Microscope can be highly recommended as manual for activities.

[Coarse, Fine] I love this microscope! It’s easy to view things from fairly low magnification (good for feathers, insect wings, etc) to ultra-high magnification. It’s very user-friendly, once your slide is on the stage you can move it around with precision by using the knobs to control the mechanical stage. My favorite way to use it is by having both the weaker and stronger eyepieces in at the same time, that way I can quickly view two different magnifications

[Coarse, Fine] I am a High School teacher. Recently, my children and I were discussing microscopic life, so I decided to look into purchasing a microscope. After a few hours of browsing the web, I found your website, and, at that point, we knew we had found the right store and microscope for us. Some of the features I love about this microscope are as follows:1) Integration of Fine Focus knob in to the Coarse Focus knob.2) Wider Stage3) Two sets of eye pieces 10x and 20x4) Trinocular (which means that there is a third tube at the top to put a camera?) 5) This configuration came with a USB camera to attach to your computer.Overall the microscope works well and my kids are learning! If you want the same for your children, buy them this one, dont buy them a toy microscope.I enjoyed their product so much, I spent an additional $$on a Telescope. Science nights have changed around our house!!! :)

[Compound] I have only had this unit for a few weeks but love the ability to create some amazing art. One client said EPIC.

However, BH did not have all the parts I need to use my cameras. I had to go to Amazon to find the adapter for the trinocular. Otherwise all good.

I will also note that the lenses on this system are not like Zeiss or other high end models. So, for me what works best is my 24mp D750 vs my 45mp Z9. With the Z9 all images are a bit soft. I am assuming that is a lens issue because all my images are perfectly sharp otherwise.

Happy viewing.

[Coarse, Fine] The quality of this microscope and its price make it a perfect choice for a public or private school teacher to purchase and use in their classroom. One of the problems encountered by most students in public schools, when allowed to use a microscope, is that the quality is so poor that any interest or excitement is lost. With the addition of a HD camera connect to the third tube a realtime presentation can be made to an entire classroom. As for home schooling ... what better than a means to actually see what has been described in a text and then share that visual on a PC with others.
