The angled-viewing Endeavor XF 20-60x80 Spotting Scope from Vanguard combines a nitrogen-filled magnesium-alloy housing and a fully multi-coated optical path to create a zoom optic that is well suited for intermediate- to long-range observation. Vanguard equipped the Endeavor XF series with phase-corrected BAK4 prisms, which maximize color fidelity and produce contrast-rich images.

In addition to its image quality and weather-sealed construction, the Endeavor XF includes several features that enhance the scope's functionality. This version of the Endeavor XF spotting scope has a 20-60x zoom eyepiece that features a comfortable 19mm eye relief and twist-up rubber eyecup. The tripod foot has a standard 1/4"-20 mount and is compatible with Vanguard tripods that have a universal mounting shoe. An integrated sunshade and flip-down objective cover as well as a custom-fit raincoat carrying case help to make the Endeavor XF a well-equipped spotting scope for outdoor use.

[80 mm] This scope offers a lot of features and quality for the bucks. The optics are clear and sharp, and the scope is solidly constructed. It's too bad Vanguard doesn't offer a prime eyepiece, such as a 30x, but the supplied zoom eyepiece is still quite good. Beyond 40x the image softens noticeably, although that's typical for most moderately priced scopes. Unlike some of the other reviewers, I found the focusing mechanism to be extremely smooth with just the right amount of resistance. The cover fits a bit snugly but it also provides excellent protection. I've been using the scope to observe birds and other wildlife as well as for casual astronomy. 5

[Angled] I am very happy with this purchase. The optics are very clear. I have a friend that has a spotting scope that costed 3x this much. I would recommend checking this one before spending the extra money on those far more expensive units. 5

[Angled] I love this scope. I was looking for a decent first scope for me at a good price and this is the scope I saw everywhere. It has a really good image. More distortion as you get closer to 60 power. 5

[20 to 60x] I use this scope for wildlife observation and digiscope photography. It is very bright in low light. The dual focus knobs are easy to operate while viewing. I am very pleased with this product 5

[Angled] The glass is VERY clear! Solid construction and I am very pleased I compared this in low light to the Viper HD and I could not find any difference. You can see the rings of Saturn and this is the best scope for for the price and beats many of higher price points too. 5

[19.0 to 20.0 mm] I bought the endeavor 82 spotting scope and let it deliver to my hotel. It arrived nice on time and in great condition. The view is more than I ever imagined and the case it comes with fits good and comes in handy. A tip for everyone buying this spotting scope: use a good that can gold the weight and not a cheap one. I used it on a old Vanguard Tripod we had at home and fully extended it was a little wobbly. My advise is to also buy the Vanguard Espod CX1 tabletop Tripod with it. It had a great stability and holds the scope really steady 5

[20 to 60x] Strong construction, clear optics. Vanguard Endeavor replaced a Nikon of lower power w/just as clear optics in my opinion. 5

[20 to 60x] Finally got a trip to the range today to try out the scope for its intended use. Longest range at or club is 200 yards and it was very easy to see .223 size holes on white paper at that distance. Scope gives a very sharp image at low to mid magnification. At 60X the .223 holes were all visible, but a bit blurry; backing down the magnification to around 45-50X really sharpened up the image, while still making the target very easy to see. One thing that really helped was the Tripod that Vanguard provided free as part of a rebate; it was not a chintzy freebee they were giving away, but a very stable high quality tripod with dampened video panning head that made it easy to manipulate to find the target and to hold it in place when locked. I am glad that I spent the money for a scope of this quality vs. an entry level unit (this is my first scope), so I avoided having to do a re-do in short order. You get what you pay for in quality glass. B&H had the best pricing by far on this scope; catching the tripod rebate going on was icing on the cake. Highly recommended! 5

[20 to 60x] Used my scope out at the range at 100yds. No problem at this distance in seeing holes from my 308. I ended up having to scope for the chap next to me. Next day was the real test, at 215yds. In the rough we set up targets and ounce again no problem. I'm truly happy with everything from dealing with B&H and talking to Vanguard for helping me choose this scope. 5
