Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. will this handle work for the panasonic s5?

A: Next to the micro-USB port is a 12 VDC output that can be used to power the camera from your F570 battery. You can also choose not to make use of this port and still use the run/stop function. A battery and cables are all sold separately.

Q: 2. can this be used through lanc to control an electronic lenses focus? specicically with lumix S1

A: This is designed to connect with the Nucleus Nano or M follow focus controls.

Q: 3. Is the Type III mount 1/4-20 or 3/8-16 screw with locating pins?

A: The Tiltaing Side Focus Handle Type III features a 3/8" screw with pins that are directly compatible with Tilta cages for Sony a7/a9, Canon 5D, and Panasonic S1, such as the Tilta Full Camera Cage for Sony a7/a9 Series (SKU: TIAT17FCCG) https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1506747-REG/tilta_ta_t17_fcc_g_full_camera_cage_for.html/specs

Q: 8. Which cable is needed to connect this battery to the Tilta Nucleus Nano?

Q: 9. can the TILTA DB-DC-LEP6 dummy battery cable be used in the 12V output, or is it up uping the voltage from the Sony 7.4 battery to 12V somehow?

A: According to Tilta MFR #TA-SH3-97-G will not work with MFR #TA-SH3-97-G as the cable size is too large. You will need a LP-E6 to 3.5/1.35mm DC Male Dummy Battery for that handle. The 12V port up regulates and the dummy battery down regulates so you will have the correct voltage for an LP-E6. https://bhpho.to/38kfDcP

Q: 10. Is this compatible with one of the Tilta GH5 cages? If so, what is the name of that cage?

A: Yes it is compatible, and we do have the GH5 version, it is called "Tiltaing Panasonic GH Series Kit C – Tilta Gray"

[Aluminum] After trying the side handle by portkeys I've ended my journey with the advanced side handle with RS. Portkeys had a great handle I almost kept but there were a few reasons I decided to return that for this. First being it was very confusing system. It worked well with pocket 6k because of the Bluetooth. But the fact I couldn't pair with my pocket 6k and have my portkeys LH5P monitor made me have to pick between the monitor and the handle. I kept the monitor and went with this Tilta. And I'm really glad I did. The focus motor is designed for focusing. The wheel is dampened and it feels solid. And this system is much more versatile as I can use this on pretty much any small to medium sized cine lens. The RS button works exactly as it should. You do need the optional cable which i can't understand why is $30. But all in all Tilta is the best rig accessories "company" while I believe small rig is the best at making cages and rig parts. If your Legos kinda guy then go smallrig. But Tilta makes products you need. Like this one.

[Remote Trigger] It's a solid grip but make sure it's the right one for you. There are several different ones to choose. This is primarily just a grip for the cage.

[Aluminum] Although I haven't used it for long, I absolutely love this handle. The possibility of having the focus on the tip of your finger while holding the camera is incredible, and a game changer for handheld camera. Im pairing with the nano motor and so far it works good. I wish there was a way to revert the direction of the focus knob, in case I need to rig the motor on the right side of the camera.

[Aluminum] Nice grip, good ergonomics, focus ring travel is just the right amount.
Putting on the rosette mount is a bit of a pain and requires the included angled Allan key, so don't loose that one.

[Aluminum] This is a nice handle for pulling focus. It is very sturdy and solid. I find the focus throw to be sufficient, though I'm still working on calibrating it properly. I had also purchased the advanced handle, but it was too small for my hand. This was much more comfortable. I wish they had picked a different location for the micro USB port though.
