The Arca-Swiss Monoball P1+ Quick Set Pan Fix Receiverfrom Arca-Swiss Monoball P1+ Quick Set Pan Fix Receiveris a tripod head made for large cameras and long focal length lenses. It has a large ball to ensure a high capacity while maintaining fluid movements. It has a slotted opening that allows the head to tilt 90° to quickly and easily change from a horizontal to a vertical camera orientation.

The new Monoball p1+ has improved friction control, providing more control over heavier loads up to 66 lb, and less tension with lighter loads. The sensitivity threshold can be set by turning the knurled wheel and stored by turning the friction wheel

The top of the Monoball p1+ has a Quick Set panning platform with a range of 360° and a precision scale for accurate and repeatable results. The top of the head features a receiver that is only compatible with newer style Arca-Swiss Monoball Fix-type camera plates. Monoball Fix quick releases have a single channel design and are only compatible with monoball Fix camera plates and accessories, or with Arca-type camera monorails. Monoball Fix and Arca-type camera rails mount in the lower channel of the quick release.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is there a pouch that I can buy to protect this ballhead?

A: You can use the OP/TECH USA 354 Fold-Over Pouch (Black), B&H # OPFOP3545B, or the Lowepro Compact Zoom Lens Case 8x12cm (Black), B&H # LOLP36978, to hold the Arca-Swiss Monoball Z1+ Single Pan Classic.

Q: 2. Will this ball head pair with the Fesiol CT3442 and allow the legs to reverse 180? Also, is it compatible with RRS L brackets and plates?

A: Although I can't compare this head with another model, it is compatible with L brackets and is an awesome head. The engineering is fantastic, what one would expect from a Swiss manufacturer. It has greatly improved the quality of my macro photography and is one of the best equipment investments I have made.

Q: 3. What does "monoball fix receiver" mean? Would be nice if the jargon was interpreted back to standard vocabulary.

A: The Arca-Swiss Monoball P1+ with Quick Set Pan and Monoball Fix Receiver uses a different type of Arca-Swiss plate than the standard one that most use. Here is a link to the standard Arca-Swiss plate option: https://bhpho.to/2Wpncv4.

Q: 4. what is the diameter of the top part? The circle the clamp its on

A: According to the manufacturer, the base that holds the quick release clamp on the Arca-Swiss Monoball P1+ would measure 2.95 inches.

Q: 5. Will it fit on fuji camera xt2?

A: This bracket is too small. We suggest another bracket as one that should fit right. Sorry, not guaranteed since we cannot test. Arca-Swiss L-Bracket B&H # ARVHLH. For further information, here is the link to the Mini L's web page. https://bit.ly/2LK63Fn

Q: 6. Is this Z1+?

A: I have the z1 sp and it looks the same as the one you have. I understand that the z1+ is a more recent version of the z1 with double panning capability. It is marked with the z1+ designation on the same side of the head as the one you show, so I would think that yours is not the z1+ version. No doubt there would be a price premium for the z1+ version.

Q: 7. Will this mini L-bracket fit a Nikon Z7?

A: This is designed for compact cameras. It may work with the Z7, but we suggest the Really Right Stuff L-Plate Set for Nikon Z7 and Z6 instead, B&H # REBZ7LSET. This is made specifically for the Z6 and Z7. https://bhpho.to/2HBkoo1

Q: 8. How will this fit with the Gitzo Travelers 1 Series tripod. It seems the diameter of the ball head base is almost 3/4 inches bigger than the tripod center column

A: I use this head on a Manfrotto 3444 carbon fiber tripod. It's bigger than the mounting platform but works well.It is a heavy ball mount but the lighter promaster dropped a $30K camera in the rocks.

Q: 9. What is the width of this rail? I have a Monoball P0 which can take a 32mm rail only. Is there a cheaper alternative that is 32mm wide that you can recommend?

A: The nodal set is for the PO head and is the width of that quick release system. So it should work fine on the head you have. For that head, Monoball P0 this is the only one we are aware of that will work.

Q: 10. Will this fit a Leica M11?

A: Yes, the Arca-Swiss Monoball Fix Anti-Twist Mini L-Bracket is compatible with the Leica M11. It only fits tripod heads that have a monoball fix clamp though. It does not work with classic arca clamps.

[Ball Head] I just received this item in the mail after a long awaited restock but it was well worth it! Like everything Arca-Swiss, you can expect a finely machined piece of equipment. Everything works so smoothly without any hiccups whatsoever.

The only con to this product is the price, but given the quality, it's well worth the investment as it offers a greater range of versatility compared to a traditional ball head.

[90°] The Arca-Swiss Z1 is now my primary ball head. While I am not the biggest fan of their new QR plate, it does what it's supposed to. Overall, this is a great ball head - rock solid with any gear I will ever use with it - easy to adjust and with no extraneous knobs. The size of this ball head does require that you use it on a fairly large tripod - I am using it with the PMG TR344 - but it is still happy hiking around the White Mountains for birding and landscape.

[Ball Head] Exactly the high quality I expect from Arca-Swiss. Smooth and precise, great partner to my Cube when speed of movement is required.

[Ball Head] Just realised I'd been using it since 2008, so figured I would throw out a review. Bit surprised it's still sold. It's never missed a beat and it's been dragged all over the place. Have used mostly for 24-105L and 70-200L and never had any slips or accidents even when moving it around with camera & lens attached. One of the few buy it once products!

[Yes] I've had an old Arca-Swiss head for many years and for the last 3 or 4 years the clamp at the top has been jury rigged to allow it to tighten up and hold my camera. Also, after many years the old one didn't move that smoothly any more (although still is functional) So I bought this one as a replacement and am very pleased with how smooth the action is and how nicely it clamps down tight without any movement, even with my D810 and a heavy lens. Very well built ball head....hope this new one lasts as long as my old one!!

[Yes] I've never owned a ball head or gear head. For years if been using the heads that come with "cheap" tripods and those did the job. Although they did require a lot of small of adjustments during shoots which at the time were nothing. That is until I pulled the trigger and got this beauty. I was nervous spending so much on this one equipment but I can tell you now with confidence that this piece of well engineered equipment is one of the better purchases you'll make regardless of your shooting style.

Make adjustment after I've composed my shot is now a breeze! All I do I turn a knob to ensure my lines are parallel and camera is straight! It's amazing!

I would definitely recommend it!
