Q: 1. Good day Gents.. just want to be sure whether the PO ballhead w/ the Classic Quick Release work w/ the RRS L plates and Camera plates ?? Thanks in advance

A: Yes it does. i use a RRS L plate on my canon 5dmlll. Works great. Great ballhead!

Q: 2. Can the ball be rotated so that you have a vertical perspective as well as the horizontal?

A: Yes, the ball flips completely 90 degrees to the side. It will hold steady.Generally speaking if you use portrait mode a lot, you may want to get an L bracket. It's much easier to get all lined up when you can just put your camera on top already in portrait mode.

Q: 3. Hi,If I understand correctly, this head is compatible with both types of camera plates, classic Arca Swiss camera plates and the new so-called MonoballFix plates promoted by Arca Swiss. Is this correct? Thanks in advance.

A: The Arca-Swiss Monoball P0 is compatible with the Monoball Classic systems.

Q: 4. With the upside down ball, if the camera is level, will it remain level during a panorama, or is a leveling base still necessary if one does not want to level the entire tripod?

A: It would remain leveled during a panorama. I personally use this ballhead and it has a little panning lever so that you can pan around 360 degrees without having to loosen the ballhead. A leveling base might be better if you really need to nail your levels but it's not necessary.

Q: 5. I have Nikon D5 with RRS standard Arca-Swiss Quick Release plate which I use with my Gimbal Head. But It does not seem to fit into the Fliplock clamp. Am I doing something wrong?

A: Yes I had the same problem with the flip lock style clamp. I kept turning it trying to get it to tighten and it finally fell apart. I sent it back for the other style the screw tighten and it works as it should.

Q: 6. I'm pretty heavily invested with the Manfrotto 200PL plates and mounting system-will this item accept the 200PL plates?

A: No.

Q: 7. If i use an L bracket do i need to buy a quick release plate?

A: If your L-Bracket is Arca-Type Compatible you will not need a quick release plate

Q: 8. Will this head used with feisol ct-3442 let the legs be folded over and be carried in the feisol bag ?

A: Yes, it will fit in the Feisol bag.

Q: 9. This flip-lock head doesn't seem to accept regular Arca swiss plates. Is there an adapter so I can use my generic Arca plate?

A: The 'adapter' would just be another Arca Swiss plate that is compatible with the head, which, at that point, you would just use to mount your camera directly to the Arca-Swiss Monoball p0 With Fliplock Quick Set Device Ball Head. You can find compatible plates under the accessories tab.

Q: 10. How much turn does the knurled ring travels from the complete lose state to get fully tightened? One turn (360deg) or half turn (180 deg) or one quarter (90deg)?

A: The turn is about 170-180 degrees to fully tighten it.

[Ball Head] I was a little skeptical because of some of the complaints of the flip lock lever, and the floppy tightening ring. Both complaints are misguided! The lever is a brilliant solution and provides an excellent safety interlock. There are two catches that restrict the opening of the lever. This is a very good thing! The first catch is obvious and needs to be lightly pulled to open the 1st 90 degrees. Then one can see a ribbed rod within the lever that sits right at your fingernail which, when pulled lightly, releases the lever fully. This is the best safety interlock I have ever seen. As for the so-called floppy tightening ring, the manual states clearly the the play is necessary for proper function. It is silly to complain-the ring is very easy to operate. All in all, the best ball head I have ever used. It is crazy strong and light. My carbon fiber tripod FINALLY is really light like it should be! And with the rotational function above the ball, one can shoot panos without an added pano accessory. That alone should save a couple of hundred on the rig! Highly recommended!

[Ball Head] Arca Swiss is in a different quality and design zip code from it's competitors. One of the most consistently innovative companies in our craft they do most everything differently, but with a purpose, and all of their designs are brilliantly useful and executed at the highest level. Ultimately they just work and work and work and work and make you smile while you use them. I own and use the p0, p1 and Core 75 Arca Swiss heads for different purposes and they are all great. This little p0 is small, light and grips like a vise when locked in place supporting up to 44 lbs without a complaint. One of the unsung and underrated hero's of Arca is the brilliant Fliplock Quick Set that locks the camera in place. It is small, perfect, has it's own lock, is very secure and you can feel totally comfortable hanging an expensive camera in its confident grasp. If you need a small positive ball head I can't recommend this one highly enough - except that it's worth spending the extra $$ for the the p0+ which has a preset tensioning adjustment. Products from Arca aren't cheap but they are worth every penny.

[Ball Head] The Fliplock is easy to operate and the straight forward two step design requiring deliberate actions on my part means distractions or confusing controls wont cause me to release my equipment inadvertently.  Adjustment to the Small Rig L bracket width was straight forward.  I do recommend using only one manufacturers brackets so you wont have to readjust the Fliplock clamp width.  The p0 does sit atop the RRS TQC-14 Mk2 with clearance above the quick column lock collar.  The p0 wont fit between the legs of fold back series 1 tripods without impacting the legs, but the p0 is such a pleasure to use Id rather add the extra length leaving the tripod unfolded or remove the ball head (when backpacking) than opt for a different ball head.  The p0 will securely hold more weight per ounce of ball head than any of its competitors and its design means you will be shooting panoramas with a level horizon while other brand owners are adding on their heavy leveling base or disassembling and reassembling their ball heads for a panorama.  The 3.5 pound combined weight of the RRS TQC-14 and the Arca-Swiss p0 mean I will be climbing to the top of a 14er this summer with my gear rather than opting to leave it behind as in years past--no more regrets.

[Ball Head] I discovered this ballhead while on a photo workshop. The instructor had it and was showing it to others. The collar locking mechanism is so intuitive and precise, setting the camera right where you want it without trying to keep it from flopping over is trivial. The only downside of the p0 he had was that it came with the non-classic quick release system which would require new plates (the instructor added his own rrs qr to the bare p0 ballhead). Arca seems to have backpedaled and introduced this model with the classic Arca qr flip lock. Operating the lever is simple and easy. I absolutely love this thing.

[Ball Head] In response to Howard request, I am expanding my earlier review without mentioning previous comments. This a solid ballhead and when is locked it will not move. I have owned other Arca-Swiss ball heads as well as Markins, Manfrottos, Feisols, etc and this has been the best for my purposes. It is compact and is the only that allows to reverse the legs of the tripod without interference due to the various knobs in the other ball head.I selected this ballhead because is compact, travel friendly and can be used for landscape as well as bird photography with the rig I built using Hobu side arm and an aluminum block to use similar Wimberly Sidekick or Swing platform. Photo is included. So when I am in the field I only carry this rig and when I use the ballhead, I just remove the rig and becomes a ballhead. Another advantage is that is serves as a leveling device so one does not have to worry when the tripod is not leveled.

[90°] I've been using this Arca-Swiss Monoball p0 for a few years now and I complained about the 'flipping flip lock' at the outset but may be I got used to operating it properly and it is in my opinion the best head and best lock and is very light to travel with. Moreover, it does not require a separate leveling base especially for panoramic work and that means light weight again. It is very well made and well designed and will outlast me I'm sure. I'm giving it 5 stars this time. It can be used with the heavy lenses without any fear of crumbling down. The flip-lock mechanism may be a bit hard to operate if wearing gloves but otherwise this is almost the perfect ball head for travel, landscape and general photography overall. Great product I will enjoy using for a long time.

[Ball Head] I just received this item in the mail after a long awaited restock but it was well worth it! Like everything Arca-Swiss, you can expect a finely machined piece of equipment. Everything works so smoothly without any hiccups whatsoever.

The only con to this product is the price, but given the quality, it's well worth the investment as it offers a greater range of versatility compared to a traditional ball head.

[90°] I've never owned a ball head or gear head. For years if been using the heads that come with "cheap" tripods and those did the job. Although they did require a lot of small of adjustments during shoots which at the time were nothing. That is until I pulled the trigger and got this beauty. I was nervous spending so much on this one equipment but I can tell you now with confidence that this piece of well engineered equipment is one of the better purchases you'll make regardless of your shooting style.

Make adjustment after I've composed my shot is now a breeze! All I do I turn a knob to ensure my lines are parallel and camera is straight! It's amazing!

I would definitely recommend it!
