Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this convert to a landscape mode for the arm?

A: Yes, the center column can be used as a horizontal arm for shooting straight down.

Q: 2. Anyone who has this tripod and head (MK190XPRO3-3W), can you recommend a decent quality tripod carry case (preferably a padded one) that this will fit into? It would need to be at least 6 deep, 6 wide and at least 29 long. There is one Manfrotto tripod bag (MBAG 75PN) that people say is a bit too small for this tripod; and the other Manfrotto bags are way too expensive for my budget. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

A: I would recommend the Ruggard Deluxe Padded 35 Tripod case.It has two internal straps to hold the tripod from moving. Also, if you plan on using a heaver camera or lens with this Tripod, please look into getting the Manfrotto 200PLARCH-14 Architectural Anti-Twist Quick Release Plate with 1/4-20 Screw to eliminate Camera Creep/Slipage when using the Tripod in Vertical/Portrate mode.

Q: 3. Can the head be removed on this tripod in order for a glide slide track to be used?

A: yes, the head is removable.

Q: 4. How does this differ from B&H # MA190XPRO4Q5 (B&H Kit), apart from the price difference?

A: The MT190XPRO4 has a higher load capacity, and the MK190XPRO has a much shorter minimum height.

Q: 5. Has anyone used "Manfrotto MT055XPRO3-3W Aluminum Tripod with 3-Way Pan/Tilt Head" for stitched panoramic 360?images? If so, does it enable proper stitching?

A: You could certainly use this tripod/head for pano's but there are much better heads out there specifically for shooting 360. You can purchase legs separate, then buy the head. Click on the link below to view pano heads; https://bhpho.to/37YDkZM

Q: 6. can I mount a vanguard alta bh-250 ball head on this tripod?

A: Yes, both use the 3/8"-16 standard mount. The BH250 comes with a 1/4"-20 adapter, so remove it if you have it installed in the ballhead when you attempt to mount the head to the tripod legs.

Q: 7. Can this tripod be folded up and fit into the carrier bag without removing the handles?

A: It comes with a standard Manfrotto tripod bag, and it fits in the bag fully assembled. If it doesnt have this accessory, I suggest you might be looking at a 3rd party tripod, or vendor built bundle.Hope this helps.

Q: 8. Hello! I am wondering how well would this head (as compared to a fluid video head) would work for occasional video taking of surfers? Quick moving subject under a lot of light. Thanks

A: If you're using a regular pan tilt head for video instead of a fluid head, then the smoothness of the footage will depend entirely on how well you can move the arms on your own. Starts/stops will be jerky. It probably won't be the best footage possible but it will do the job in a pinch.

Q: 9. can the pan feature be locked ?

A: Yes. The 3 ways that the head can be locked are vertical tilt, horizontal tilt, and panning.

Q: 10. Is the tripod head reversible?

A: Unfortunately, the column on this tripod is not reversible. However, the column can be set on a 90 degree, allowing the head to be positioned at a lower angle.

[3 Positions] Am having to replace a beloved, but heavy weight, really heavy, Manfrotto tripod used for years in bird survey projects. This Vortex tripod is well engineered and sturdy. I am able to actually carry it easily along with a lighter weight Vortex spotting scope as I'm aging to 80 soon.

[Carbon Fiber] It is light enough to hike in and out while hunting. I use it to mount my spotting scope using the Arca Swiss adapter. I can then tighten the head and switch to a shooting V if need be. If you’re looking for something lighter for more money then more power to you. For me it’s plenty light enough and very sturdy, I can lean some weight and rest my rifle on this without feeling like it will break.

[1x 1/4"-20 Male] Provides excellent performance. I have used this tripod for both hunting, nature viewing and long distance photography. It is incredibly stabil and allows for use on very uneven terrain. It is on the heavy side, but so long as you plan your packing list for your other items, it is quite manageable.

[Pan & Tilt Head] This is really a great tripod and holds my Nikon P1000 with no problem. The camera is quite long and the tripod stays sturdy.

It is easy to set up but it is a bit heavy.

[Carbon Fiber] It was time to replace my 40-year-old professional tripod, and I wanted a traditional, sturdy replacement. This looks like it will fill the bill.

[1x 1/4"-20 Male] Looks like it will do well with my Kowa spotting scope. Small enough to carry on field trips and sturdy enough to keep a large spotting scope(80mm) steady. A good value

[Yes] Excellent tripod, its so good I bought a second one! Now I can comfortably use both of my Nikon Z Series cameras at the same time. The tripod is very stable, and for tall people its the perfect height, no more crouching to look through the camera!!!

[Flip Lock] I have a ton of tripods, but never sprung for a big-boy one, until now. What a difference it makes, having a solid, steady, rugged tripod - especially when shooting real estate photos to do comps that have to line up.

One oddity is that, the way the leg clamps look is not how they work. It's like they were made for left-handed people. Taking some getting used to.

The 90 degree boom arm on it, though, is killer. I had a shoot where I was trying to line up a chandelier with a window behind it. Without shooting handheld, it was impossible to get the shot without using the boom. It was awesome. I got it right where I needed it and it supported my EOS 5D Mk IV that also was mounted in a metal cage, had a flash on it, a light on it, and Pocket Wizard remote - so, not a light load.

Adjustment knows work really well, too. You can change the tension on them to suit your needs. Love this thing.
