A: The Ulanzi U-80L Side Cold Shoe Mount Ball Head with Arca-Type Quick Release uses the same lever for tilting and panning.

Q: 2. What is the ball diameter?

A: Unfortunately, the ball sphere diameter is not published by the manufacturer.

Q: 3. What is the base diameter of this ball head?

    A: We measured the diameter as 29.3mm / 1.15".

Q: 4. Can this head be used with Ulanzi Zero F38 tripod?

A: No, the Ulanzi U-80L Side Cold Shoe Mount Ball Head with Arca-Type Quick Release is not compatible with the Ulanzi Zero F38 Travel Video Tripod with Quick Release Plate.

Q: 5. Can you take the clamp off the ball head?

Q: 7. I've recently bought a BE-117T head which is very good, anyhow it comes with a QR-20 quick release plate. In the first photo on this, it shows a QR-10 plate, in the last it shows a QR-20... What is the difference between the plates? Are the plates interchangeable?

    A: I have always/only used the QR=10, works well!

Q: 8. What is the minimum & maximum dimension of arca-style head opening? My camera's arca-style base is 38mm wide. I want to find out whether I can drop it off or I have to slide it in. Thank you.

A: the range is about 36-38.5mm. I have one plate that drops in and one that needs an ever so slight tilt.

Q: 9. My tripod has a 1" diameter vertical mounting post. Is this head designed to clamp mount onto that? I don't see details in the photos or description regrading mounting the head itself onto a tripod...thanks!

A: The base of this head is 2.6" wide with a 1/4-20" female thread at the bottom.

Q: 10. is this compatible with a platypod?

A: Yes, the Oben BE-117 Ball Head with Arca-Type Quick Release can be mounted on the Platypod Ultra Plate Camera Support and on the Platypod Max Camera Support.

[Ball Head] Surprisingly strong for how tiny it is. The ball doesn’t have any grease so it’s a little rough, but it works fine just the same.

[0.31 lb] I bought this to go with my new Platypod and it worked very well. I wanted the lightest head possible to not weigh down my pockets when carrying the Platypod through museums in D.C. and this served me well. It's well built and easy to use with the screw and lever locations well thought-out. Just be aware that it's 1/4 mount and the Platypod is 3/8 mount so you'll need an adapter. It's a great little head and priced right. Buy it.

[1x 1/4"-20 Male] Great little head for clamps or small table tripods. Metal, nicely machined, feels good while operating. The single tension screw controls both panning and ball tension, which is typical in this category. The plastic tab on the tension screw reaches below the base as you tighten it, but it can be pulled out and repositioned so there is no issue.

[90°] I use this ballhead on top of a Leofoto MT-03. This is my tiny travel tripod I use on the ground or on a table or a rock, when hiking.
It's small and does not weigh a ton.
I put a A7 IV with a 24 mm lense on it and when the legs are in the wider position I have no issues with the set up being to heavy.
This might not be the correct solution with a long and heavy zoom lense. For my purpose, it's perfect.

[1x 1/4"-20 Male] As small as it is, it holds my FX camera with 70-300mm Nikon lens. no warbling. Solid little device .Use it on mono pod and as extra on road trips.
Shipping was fast.

[1x 1/4"-20 Male] I bought it for a FLM tabletop tripod. It's what I was looking for: it's small, light and very sturdy. I am using it w/ a Nikon D500 or D750 w/ battery grip and arca-swiss type L bracket on both of them and a Nikon 105/2.8 Micro or a Nikon 24-124/4 when I travel. Best lightest setup for macro or traveling!

[1x 1/4"-20 Male] I put this ball head on the Freewell Carbon Fiber Real Travel Tripod. This combination is the lightest tripod set up I have come across and here are the specifications of the combination:
Weight: 1 lbs, 8.5 oz (696 grams)
Folded length: 16 inches (40.6 cm)
Folded diameter: 2.5 inches (6.4 cm)
Full extended height: 58.5 inches (148.6 cm)

The set up easily fits in the side of a backpack where a water bottle would go. It takes up minimal space in a travel suitcase. It is sturdy holding a Sony a7iv mirrorless DSLR camera with a 24-105 f4 lens. I am very pleased with this product.

[0.31 lb] As another reviewer stated. You will need a 1/4 “to 3/4” adapter for this to be compatible with the Ploty-pod (all models) .
This was difficult to locate, requiring a trip to a specialty hardware store for an adapter. Not easy to find one either.
The ball head works perfectly after the modification.
