Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. does this 25mm work with Canon C70?

A: Yes, the Meike 25mm T2.2 Manual Focus Cinema Prime Lens (Canon RF) is compatible with the Canon EOS C70 Cinema Camera (RF Mount).

Q: 2. What is the lens length?

A: The Meike 50mm T2.2 Manual Focus Cinema Lens (MFT Mount), is currently back-ordered and we unfortunately do not have direct access to it. The manufacturer does not state the actual size, but based on other Meike lenses which we can test, the packaging takes up about 2-3" in length and the packaging length is 7", which would put this lens at approximately 4-5" in length.

Q: 3. what is the front diameter size?

A: 77 mm

Q: 4. What is the image circle diameter? Basically, if I was using a Super 35 sensor, would a MFT mount cover it or would an E-mount be needed? Or are both mounts the same coverage? Thanks!

A: According the manufacturer this lens should cover an APS-C or Super35mm Sized Sensor.

Q: 5. Just want to have a Cine lense, will it sit on every MFT Cam? in this case a Lumix G95?

A: Yes, The Meike 25mm T2.2 Manual Focus Cinema Lens (MFT Mount) will mount on your Panasonic G95 camera model. The G95 has a MFT ( Micro four thirds) mount.

Q: 6. Does the lens barrel extend or retract when focusing?

A: no. its an internal focus system.

Q: 7. Is this compatible with a Sony a6400 Mirrorless?

A: Yes it is

Q: 8. I notice that the description of this says "Micro Four Thirds Sensor Coverage". Does this mean that this will be a 50mm on my MFT sensor camera? Other lenses from this lineup seem to have APS-C coverage, so I am confused as to which sensor size this will cover.

A: The Meike 50mm T2.2 Manual Focus Cinema Lens (MFT Mount) is a 50mm lens and as such, any 50mm lens will appear as 100mm on a Micro Four Thirds sensor. Micro Four Thirds sensors will always display approximately 2x the focal length equivalent when compared to full frame sensors (which is the standard "measuring stick" for lens focal lengths), based on the numerical data of the lens focal length, regardless of the mount type or intended sensor. The term "Micro Four Thirds Sensor Coverage", in this case, means the lens would be appropriate for a Micro Four Thirds sensor.

Q: 9. Hey is this lens made for Sony A6400 ?

A: this is an E-mount lens and will work on all Sony E mount cameras with S35mm sized sensors. it will not cover a FF sensor.

Q: 10. What is the lens length?

A: The Meike 85mm T2.2 Manual Focus Cinema Lens (E Mount), is a special order item that we unfortunately do not have direct access to. The manufacturer does not state the actual size, but based on other Meike lenses which we can test, the packaging takes up about 2-3" in length and the packaging length is 6", which would put this lens at approximately 3-4" in length.

[Imperial] I’ve been using this on my Blackmagic Pocket 4K and love it! Pulling focus and T stops are super smooth. The image quality is great for my purposes. Very cinematic... Meaning that it’s not the sharpest image but that’s what I like in a cine lens.

[T2.2] I first purchased a 12mm and purchased this one second. I'm more than happy with both lenses. Very cinematic feel and a nice weight in my hands. After shooting 2 weddings using this with my gh5 I'm happy.

[T2.2] I now have a 16mm, 25mm and a 35mm Meike lens. Great DoF. The gears turn very smoothly and don't have any play in them. The lens has a snug fit on my GH5S.

[T2.2] After using this lens right out of the box and on a shoot, I am impressed to say the least. For the value compared to the smooth focus, and the image quality, for the money, is the best I've seen in lower price range cine lenses.

[77 mm] Did a low light with it on our street. Turned out great can't upload video. Trust me IT is as good as the $1000 dollar one.

[77 mm] While I didn't order this lens from B&H, I wanted to leave my thoughts here regardless so that I can maybe help others.

At the time I'm writing this, it's been almost a year of having this lens, and I can honestly and objectively say, this is my favorite lens that I've used with my Blackmagic Pocket 4K. It's excellent.

Optically beautiful. While it has a more flat look than other cine lenses with more character, I don't have a lot of money to rent lenses for projects, so owning a lens that can behave like a chameleon is great. I can use this lens as a base, and then design the look of the project with lighting or post-production. Technically it's also great, with basically no focus breathing and low chromatic aberration (still present, but easy to correct).

Build quality is great. The only true competitor is Rokinon, which are plastic. This lens is built like a tank, with a metal housing, nice 77mm filter thread, and buttery-smooth focus and aperture gears. It's small and compact, which helps keep my rig minimal, but if I want to build it out with a matte box and follow focus, I can because of its standard cine-style design.

There's a couple quirks, but they're minimal. The lens caps are a bit odd. On the front cap, I would prefer a slip-on design like other cine lenses, but this has a squeeze/clip-on design similar to still lenses. The rear cap is strange too, it only attaches in one specific way. It's hard to explain, but I have to fiddle with it to get it to stay, which is inconvenient when I'm in a rush or in the dark.

Overall, this is an excellent lens, and I plan on getting a couple more in the lineup to complete my set. I have zero regrets purchasing this, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a budget-friendly choice that feels and performs better than Rokinon.

Sorry for the long review! I just had a lot to say. Bonus points if you read it all. Have a great day, everyone.

[Super35/APS-C] I have all the Meike cine lenses and use them on my S35 cameras as well as my MFT cameras. Love the build and the focus throw.

[Super35/APS-C] Just came in today. I have to say it's not an ARRI Signature Prime. So, take this with a grain of salt. I say that many of you are like me, our budget is not in that league. For the price super sharp. The throw is nice and a real solid build. Amazing lens for the price and now I will be adding more to my bag.

[Imperial] Awesome lens to have with an entre cinema camera! I would say it worth the price but is too cheap for its quality! Keep in mind that because of the MFT mount, the angle of view is narrower than normal 50 mm, so if you're looking for something similar as a full frame 50, maybe go with the 35mm. Either way it's and excellent lens!
