A: Yes, this can clean 8mm and 16mm film. You should get a pair of movie reel rewinds. (Sorry, B&H no longer sells them.) You would then get every reel of film done in a jiffy.

A: We are not aware of this working for negatives. We do not recommend it either.

A: I don't see any reference to a grounding cord on the Kinetronics instructions. They do recommend vacumming &/or washing the brushes from time to time depending on how much the brush is used. Mine seems to be working very well at removing dust particles from the film I'm scanning.

Q: 5. Can this be used with the wolverine 8mm film converter?

A: Yes it works fine at keeping the dust and lint from viewer.

Q: 6. What should the alligator clip be attached to ?

A: The crocodile clip securely attaches to your PC's frame or other metal surface. It creates a ground to ensure that a static electrical charge won't damage the components you're working with.

Q: 7. Is this safe for matt screens?

A: Yes, you can use this on a matte screen but I wouldn't spray directly on the screen. Apply to the microfiber cloth then wipe the screen. And as always, check with the manufacturer of the screen to be absolutely sure.

Q: 8. how do you clean the brushes? They have to get dirty after awhile, don't they?

A: I would used either canned air, a small air compressor, or a vacuum.

A: Yes, it is a soft brush, but I no longer use mine because I have the impression it did cause scratches when film already had dust on it.
