Route up to four 4K HDMI sources to four 4K UHD displays with this 4K HDMI Matrix Switcher 4x4 by DVDOfrom DVDO. The switcher can support up to 4K UHD resolution video and can automatically descale each output when the unit is connected to a 1080p display. These settings, as well as the four S/PDIF audio outputs, can be adjusted with API commands via IP control.

HDCP 2.2 and various EDID functions are supported by the switcher. Control can be achieved via the included IR remote with receiver cable, RS-232 input, IP via Web UI or Telnet, or using the front-panel buttons. Identifying the sources you are switching between is made easy with the LED indicators on the front panel.

A: Yes, the DVDO HDMI 2.0 Audio Extractor does support HDCP 2.2 and that is one of the requirements for the Apple TV. It should work.

Q: 4. Is this capable of seamless switching?

A: The Alfatron MUH44E 4x4 4K HDBaseT Matrix Switcher is not considered a seamless switcher.

Q: 5. Does the HDMI output still retain the full HDMI Audio output?

A: Yes it does. The Audio is still present on the HDMI output when using the DVDO HDMI 2.0 Audio Extractor.

Q: 6. Can you use another kind of HDMI receiver with the HDBaseT of the unit or must use MXULab receivers?

A: Please note that four HDBT PoC Receivers are included in the MuxLab HDMI 4x4 Matrix Switcher Kit V2. We can only confirm that Muxlab receivers would be totally compatible with this kit.

Q: 7. Can an output be connected from one unit to an input on a second identical unit?

A: While we are not sure of the application this would used for, that should be possible.

Q: 8. I have a dumb HDMI monitor, not a TV. Will this device extract the audio without audio feedback from the monitor?

A: The DVDO HDMI 2.0 Audio Extractor is capable of extracting 2 channel or 5.1 channel audio from an HDMI output device while still passing the audio with video over HDMI. To avoid feedback to external audio monitors, turn down to 0 on any audio from the source and destination display.

Q: 9. How smooth is the transition from one input to another? Fade in/out?

A: It is not smooth at all. This is an AV Switcher, not a production switcher.

Q: 10. I assume once audio is de-embedded from an output, it is still available across the HDMI line though? Looking to pull out audio but still use it on another location display

A: Yes, the audio should still be present on the HDMI outputs.

[S/PDIF] Plugged the unit in to six Samsung HD 65" TV's and the other end in to an HP i7 PC. Image quality was incredible (Used in Radiology lab). The HP even found a sound device and audio came out of every TV. More than I expected from this switcher!! A++ 5

[S/PDIF] Purchase to split the Apple 4K audio in my Control4 home automation system. Worked flawlessly without issue. I am able to split the audio signal depending on where I am watching the Apple TV, this does not mean I can watch Apple TV simultaneously multiple rooms. 5

[Device: 10.8 W] I had previously bought an audio extractor from elsewhere that met all the specs but did not work on the Apple 4K TV. It was able to extract the audio (2-ch) but could not pass through the video at the same time. I had to return that one. After much hesitation, I went ahead and bought this unit, and it works as advertised! I'm also using AVocation matrix switches for both the HDMI and audio outputs, and the signals are getting through to all my TVs and speakers. I put the EDID on 2-ch, FWIW. 5
