Q: 1. Is the expiration date critical? Have boxes with expiration date of 2012 and 2014 are they no good?

A: With the higher quality papers, like the Kodak Professional line, the expiration dates are not that crucial. Acidity levels are lower so the paper does not turn yellow nearly as quickly. All our print media storage methods meet the most stringent industry standards.

Q: 2. Is it glossy in both side (Is it double sided glossy)?

A: Luster is not gloss, it is the equivalent of semi-gloss in the paint world. only the top side is coated to print on.

Q: 3. Does Kodak provide an ICC profile for other brand printers? I'm currently using Canon Pro 2000.

A: We use Epson printers and use their profile for the epson luster with the Kodak media. This works beautifully.

Q: 4. Will ink run if this is used with the Epson 9890? An aqueous ink printer?

A: I use the exhibition Canvas settings and there were no runs it dried well only problem is the color is not 100% accurate.

Q: 5. Can I use this paper with Epson surecolor p7000?

A: Yes the Pro Luster will work with the P7000/

Q: 6. Hello. Does anyone know about OBAs in Canon roll papers? Looking on their website and in their datasheets, only specifies OBAs (or not) in 1 paper?

A: Typically, Canon's luster and glossy paper rolls have optical brighteners, and their matte papers do not.

Q: 7. Where do I get an icc profile for this? I can't find it on the Kodak site for P800.

Q: 8. Does this paper have a texture to it?

A: Yes, the Photo Tex Aqueous Inkjet Fabric has a matte finish to its surface.

Q: 9. My printer maxes out at 11.8 mil. Can I use this with my printer?

A: As this paper is 13 mil thick, I would not suggest this for your printer as you rprinter maxes out at 11.8mil.

Q: 10. will this paper work on normal inkjet printers? or is it more for a dry lab type printer?

A: I have only used this paper on the Epson 4880. Luster setting etc.. Define normal?

[44 x 6 x 6"] I am a semi-professional photographer. I sell my photographs at local art shows. I for years I have used Ilford Smooth Pearl, but they increased the price and cut the roll size. Then I switched to Ilford Lustre, but they discontinued the product. So I gave the Kodak Professional Luster Paper a try. I really like the results, so I just ordered 2 more rolls. I am switching over to Kodak. I found that the paper is more flexible than the Ilford. The Ilford is more stiff. At first I thought this might be a problem and I might get fold marks in the paper. So far this has not been a problem at all. In fact with the Ilford, I had to sometimes flatten the paper with weights to get rid of the curl. The Kodak paper is a brighter white versus the Ilford Lustre. I had to change a setting in Photoshop, and now I am getting consistent results with my previous Ilford prints. For me this is a great product and value. 5

[23.05 lb] This is my quality proofing/working paper. The white base and near perfect surface brings out the best and worst in every process—from checking an image at scale to nozzle checks—this paper reveals almost everything with clarity. It linearises near perfectly with a low(ish) ink load (245%) across all 6 colors at 1440dpi and the resulting ink surface is nearly perfect. This makes for fast, very high quality proofing. The base substrate is light, so more ink (2880) would require a lower ink load and slower head speeds to stop uneven surface expansion (and potential head strikes). The paper profiles beautifully and can emulate the fidelity and performance of better quality exhibition papers like MOAB Juniper which makes the transition across to final prints easier and more predictable. This makes it perfect to work through ideas on and it stacks flat in drawers without curl memory. A really impressive paper from Kodak (watermarked on the reverse) that beats Epson variants and produces great images that a lot of people enjoy. A great benchmark paper. 5
