Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Where do I get an icc profile for this? I can't find it on the Kodak site for P800.

A: You can contact Kodak directly here for a compatible profile, if the option is not on their profiles site for the P800 specifically: https://kodak.globalbmg.com/en/contactus

Q: 2. What is the media type for this paper? I use Epson 4900.

A: I hope I understand the question - I use the standard MATTE setting for media type on my Canon Pixma Pro 10 and I am very pleased with the result. Hope this was of some help.

Q: 3. Hello B&H ,about this kodak lustre paper , is it similar to the E surface in wet process? ThanksGene

A: Hello,Yes, the Professional Inkjet Luster Photo Paper from Kodak has a similar surface (look and feel) to their darkroom paper E surface.

Q: 4. Would this paper give good quality color using a Kodak jet ink printer that uses Kodak ink? Having problems with other brands of paper.

A: I think so! I have tried *several* photo papers on a few different printers, and this and the Kodak 4x6 professional matte finish are all I use now (and all I ever will unless home photo-printing systems somehow come up with something better!). I started using this paper with a Kodak All-In-One (not fancy; picked it up at Meijer) and for years printed out pics for photo albums, small and large framed projects, and more. They've all held up great haven't lost vibrancy or had ink chip off or anything. I now use this paper with a Canon Pixma Pro, and while there are speed and color range factors, the finished image quality of the ones printed on the Kodak printer is indistinguishable from ones printed this professional printer and I credit the paper quality.Hope that helps!

Q: 5. does this photo paper have a Kodak watermark on the back of the paper? WE are lookig for a paper to print certificates and we have verbage that we will print on the back.

A: Yes it does have Kodak's watermark on the back of the paper.

Q: 6. Does Kodak provide an ICC profile for other brand printers? I'm currently using Canon Pro 2000.

A: We use Epson printers and use their profile for the epson luster with the Kodak media. This works beautifully.

Q: 7. will this paper work on normal inkjet printers? or is it more for a dry lab type printer?

A: I have only used this paper on the Epson 4880. Luster setting etc.. Define normal?

Q: 8. Is this double sided paper (same quality if I print on both sides)?

A: No.

Q: 9. Is the expiration date critical? Have boxes with expiration date of 2012 and 2014 are they no good?

A: With the higher quality papers, like the Kodak Professional line, the expiration dates are not that crucial. Acidity levels are lower so the paper does not turn yellow nearly as quickly. All our print media storage methods meet the most stringent industry standards.

Q: 10. Is this size roll length compatible with a Canon IPF6350?

A: Yes, If yours is a 24 inch width printer. But You need the roller with the smaller roll diameter, which we had to purchase to use the paper. Our normal roll diameter is 4 and the luster paper had a 2 roll diameter. So the cost of that was around $80-100 from Canon.

[18 lb] The roll paper is less curly than others and I like the Kodak logo on the back as it looks like RA 4 processed paper. Better price too!

[38.5 x 6 x 6"] I am a semi-professional photographer. I sell my photographs at local art shows. I for years I have used Ilford Smooth Pearl, but they increased the price and cut the roll size. Then I switched to Ilford Lustre, but they discontinued the product. So I gave the Kodak Professional Luster Paper a try. I really like the results, so I just ordered 2 more rolls. I am switching over to Kodak. I found that the paper is more flexible than the Ilford. The Ilford is more stiff. At first I thought this might be a problem and I might get fold marks in the paper. So far this has not been a problem at all. In fact with the Ilford, I had to sometimes flatten the paper with weights to get rid of the curl. The Kodak paper is a brighter white versus the Ilford Lustre. I had to change a setting in Photoshop, and now I am getting consistent results with my previous Ilford prints. For me this is a great product and value.

[255 gsm] This is my first time trying this photo paper and I will be purchasing again. The paper I usually buy was not available and I needed something for an in class critique; the paper is great I’m not mad about how the prints came out.

[38.5 x 6 x 6"] I am a professional photographer and started printing in house in 2001. I use Epson printers, right now the 4900. I have tried several roll papers and always come back to the Kodak Lustre. It has a great look with a lab print sheen, lays flat coming out of the printer unlike many other papers that I tried, and the price cannot be beat. I love the Kodak Professional marking on the back. It tells my customers that I use only the best.
