Q: 9. what does 32-Bit (A/D Conversion) mean on the spec list, does it mean If I want to record 32-bit, I will need to connect it to computer?

A: The 32-bit specification refers to the amount of audio information the Sound Devices 833 8-Channel / 12-Track Multitrack Field Recorder is capable of capturing while recording in reference to bit depth. 32-bit recording captures more information mainly due to its floating-point format versus traditional fixed-point bit depths of 16 and 24 bit. This, in essence, allows for a much wider dynamic range to be captured and makes it hard to record clipped or distorted signals. Sound Devices publishes a useful article on their site that explains this in depth and can be found here: https://bit.ly/3SGcsE5

Q: 10. Does this fit a post with a 2" diameter?

A: The manufacturer specs do not explicitly define this and we cannot physically confirm as this is a new product that is yet unavailable in our warehouses.

[Knurled Knob] Performs exactly as it should. My only nit is the springs are very strong which makes it hold the tablet securely but makes it a bit difficult to put the tablet in 0lace. Otherwise it’s a great product.

[Knurled Knob] We use this on location for our small DIT kit, the ability to swam NVME drives and different card readers so we can ingest sound, footage and any other media on demand is awesome. The thunderbolt makes it crazy fast and reliable.

[Knurled Knob] Like many others, I feel the price of the docking bracket is too high, considering its simplicity in design with only a single moving part (the locking turn screw). But, if you own a Glidecam, it's a necessity. Balancing is a nightmare without it. You'll hate that you have to dish out another $ after buying your Glidecam, but I can tell you from personal experience that it is absolutely worth buying.

[Knurled Knob] I've used a glidecam since 2005, and I wish I'd gotten this sooner. This really is a time saver. It makes balancing so much easier!

[Knurled Knob] I bought the 3-space Gator Rack Bag to carry audio/computer interface gear for mobile recording situations. This consists of a computer interface, 8-mic preamp and a Furman Power Conditioner. A regular molded case offers better protection but the rack bag concept is lighter and easier to carry. It is worth the extra money to get his model, which has an aluminum frame and plastic panels under the nylon. The large, zippered pocket is handy for holding cables and communication adapters. It has one handle on the short side, and a shoulder strap. It would be a nice addition to have handles on two or three sides rather than one. It is a little short for full-depth rack gear, but everything fits if you remove power and audio cables. In the field, it fits on a small table with the laptop on top.

3U is large enough for most jobs, and has enough room to reach inside. If I need more channels or a UPS, I put them in separate cases. 30 pounds each is a lot easier to carry than 45 (or more).
