A: This product has a very low return rate and I have not seen a problem with sudden drive ejections.

A: Not sure. We use this dock to back up (and occasionally retrieve) individual project files before deleting from our server. For that it works great.

A: It is a USB 3.1 Gen 2 connection using the Via Labs VL820 chipset.

A: Yes, you can use this item to do so. However depending on the specific Mac being used number of monitors and resolution could be effected.
