Stop the writing on your Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 9-18mm f/4-5.6 lens from appearing in your underwater images with Ikelite's Anti-Reflection Ring. It blocks the aperture, focal length, and other written information on the front element of the lens from being reflected in the interior of the dome port attached to your camera housing. Without the ring, these unwanted reflections could show up in your photos and videos. A self-adhesive vinyl surface enables easy attachment to your lens.

    Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the close focus distance? 6 (in the B&H Product Highlights) or 9.84 (25 cm) (in the product specs)

A: I measured 7 from subject to image plane at 9 mm fl and 8 at 18mm fl.

Q: 2. This Lens are compatible with Panasonic Lumix GX7?

A: Yes, this lens is fully compatible with the Panasonic GX7 camera, and any other Micro 4/3rds model cameras.

Q: 3. Is this lens weather sealed?

A: This lens is not weather sealed. Their Pro line is weather sealed.

    Q: 4. Will this work with the Tilta 3-Stage 4 x 5.65" Carbon Fiber Clip-On Matte Box?

A: Yes this can fit in that Tilta matte box. The matte box can hold thee 4 x 5.65 filter trays.

Q: 5. Has anyone used this lens on a DJI Inspire 1 camera?

A: Ive used it on an inspire 2 . Its in the heavy side of what the gimbal can handle at higher speeds . Buy the lightest filters you can . You may need to make some counter weights for it as well

    Q: 6. What do I lose if I mount this on a Panasonic GH4?

A: Nothing. The GH4 has ibis just like Olympus, plus it's a short lens. A lot of Panasoics have OIS, but you really don't need it at these focal lengths.

Q: 7. I just got the lens today, but it is so hard to mount on to my OMD-EM10 camera, I had OLY14-40, 40-150, and Tamron 14-150mm before, all mount to my camera fine, except this one. Anyone has any suggestion how to do it smartly? I feel like going to break the camera or lens...

A: I returned mine because of zoom grinding. Tight mounting is a known problem with other lenses too. Try a different body but 3 ok lenses on your M10 suggests a lens mount problem. You can try the nose oil Rx and see if it helps or exchange it for another lens. Olympus is having quality control problems. My M5 and M1 bodies were both returned for warranty repairs. You can search M43 @ DPR for similar threads.

    Q: 8. Fit Lumix DMC-GM1m ?

A: It should fit any Micro Four Thirds camera such as the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GM1m but as an Olympus lens it does not have built in image stabilization since that is built into the Olympus cameras. Panasonic cameras do not have that built in so they instead build it into some of their lenses though more into the telephoto than the wide angle range. It is not so important having image stabilization on a wide angle lens but it is good to know about ahead of time.

Q: 9. How big is the opening?

A: Unfortunately that is not specified by the manufacturer.

Q: 10. It appears the zoom ring rotates opposite of Panasonic lenses, is this true?

A: I do not have a Panasonic lens to test. However If you have an Olympus Camera body There is a Menu option that allows you to choose which direction the Focusing ring works.

[0.01 lb] I’ve used this and the Pro version 7-14mm and while I believe it’s not useful to compare various lenses all the time I will say that this is a stellar lens that you take with you as opposed to leave at the house. My Pro zooms are awesome, but I find myself grabbing my primes and this wide angle zoom more times than not. I shoot landscape, street , interiors for pay and unless you have pixel snooty clients who are staring at the edges for critical sharpness you’ll be just fine with this wide zoom.

[Black] My husband intends to use this on our 16-35mm lens with our new RED camera for capturing video images of sharks and other large marine wildlife.

[0.01 lb] Very good lens with just enough wide coverage. No noticeable fish eye effect. Have used it in several conditions (over bright sunlight; dim light) and performs just as expected. Also like the fact it can accommodate filters, which the Pannie cannot.

[Black] This is a very compact wide angle lens. It is light, collapses into a small volume, and seems to be made of durable materials. It also takes 52mm filters which are small and relatively inexpensive (some wide zooms lenses can't be used with filters). When I checked it on my Olympus M10 I found the optical quality to be very good, with only a little softness in the extreme corners at the widest angle and at the wide aperature. Otherwise it is very good, with good color saturation and contrast. The minor corner softness at 9mm focal length and f4.0 is of no concern to me as I will using it stopped down for landscape photos in daylight on my hiking and backpacking trips. I highly recommend this lens.

[Black] don't believe in everything you read--the picture tells the story-- I wanted a wide angle lens that I could add filters to--I had the Olympus 7 to 14mm and was not impressed so I decided to give this one a try and I love it.

[Black] The quality of the lens in awesome. It's a little odd having to unlock and extend the lens, but I can't argue with the images I capture. I would defininately recommend this lens to any one needing a wider angle of view. My G85 even reorts that the lens needs to be extended. Great work Olympus.

[0.01 lb] I use this lens for landscapes. What is great is the compactness and lightness since I use it hiking. Since I began using the Mirrorless system (OMD M5) I have found that I can carry two lenses (14-150 mm and the 9-18 mm) to cover most situations.
