Add this Zacuto Baseplate for RED KOMODO Cageto your Zacuto Baseplate for RED KOMODO CageRED KOMODO cage to mount it onto a quick release Arca-type mount. The durable aluminum plate is designed specifically to work with the Zacuto RED KOMODO cage, and it features a 1/4"-20 camera/cage mounting screw.

The plate also features multiple 1/4"-20 threads on the sides for additional accessory mounting, and there is a 1/4"-20 screw on a protrusion in the front for an optional lens support. The plate can mount onto a standard Arca-type mount using its integrated Arca-type wedge base.

Q: 3. What's the diff between VCT and ACT? Two answers here seem to conflate them; would like clarification. Thanks!

A: VCT and ACT are two different types of locking plate systems, where one (VCT) uses a v like wedge to lock into place, and the other (ACT) use the Arca-Type system. This Zacuto ACT Baseplate use the ACT system. The biggest difference other than the method in which the quick release is shaped is the speed at which the plate mount can be released, with VCT being a faster system more often used by professionals.

[7.4 x 5.45 x 1"] I had a few side walls before settling on the Zacuto Side Plates. They are low profile, do not get in the way of the RED Outrigger Handle, and provide you with the most rigging options from the side wall, more than any other manufacturer from my telling. It provides NATO, Arri 3/8 locking pin, and Arri Rosette, and those are probably the three most secure mounting points, above regualr 1/4 screw holes. The paint comes off, are use of the Rosette mounts, but I could care less. 5

[1 x 1/4"-20] I've used the original VCT and this is a pretty solid upgrade. The sliding plate it amazing as I often have to adjust when switching from a huge lens to a small one- it was a huge pain before but is quick and simple now. The rosette on the right is nice and helps save space on the rails when mounting a handgrip. It's about as small as can be while still being incredibly useful. 5

[1 x 1/4"-20] they totally work as nato rails and love the rosette feature. the paint does chip off rather quickly unlike the small rig products which seem more durable 5

[Aluminum] We counterbalance on tripods, but why not cameras for shoulder work? Ive been shooting on Sony F5s and F55s with heavy cine zooms like the CN7x17 Canon PL zoom which, for off-the-shoulder work, throws your camera off balance making the camera very front heavy. This can be a problem because if youre shooting long days handheld, operators can get tendonitis in their elbows from the strain. This is EXACTLY what you need to get the camera balanced again on your shoulder. With 10 of travel on the baseplate, it allows you to repo the camera weight with a variety of lenses. While it is slightly heavier than my previous baseplate, its well worth the slight increase in weight to get the shoulder counterbalance right. And with the gel shoulder pad, its comfortable to use. Good design with the adjustable rod height which can be flipped for increased height. Cant recommend this product enough. Wish I had it a long time ago. 5

[Arca-Type] Great shoulder rig with a super comfortable pad. The Arc style plat works great and the rig is super well made. Makes shoulder work a dream even when shooting all day.Highly recommend and fits DSRL and my smaller cinema cameras perfectly. 5
