Q: 1. When assembled as pictured, are the 15mm rods located at the industry standard distance below the camera's optical center?

A: Yes.

Q: 2. Does this camera have Leica lens profiles so 6-bit coded M lenses, when used with Leica's L to M adapter, are recorded in exif data?

A: When using the Panasonic Lumix DC-S1R Mirrorless Digital Camera, with a Leica L to M adapter, the adapter will fit onto the L mount of the S1R, but one cannot expect electronic communicaton from the M lens.

Q: 3. Can S1R shot slow motion for 4K? Can it shot 120fps or 240fps?

A: You will be able to shoot 4K at up to 60fps. For HD it will go up to 180fps.

Q: 4. I am using the Tilta TA SFH side handle controller with the Nano motor. Does the LANC cable attach to the small port on the Nucleus Nano motor, or the 12V DC port on the TA SFH handle? I don't want to fry the remote port on my Panasonic S1H.

A: The Tilta Nucleus-Nano Run/Stop Cable for Panasonic GH4/GH5/GH5S/S1/S1R/S1H Cameras will connect to the remote port on the Tilta Nucleus-Nano Wireless Lens Control Motor.

Q: 5. will this work with the new nucleus nano ii motor ?

Q: 9. Are there eyelet holes and screws for this cage for more fastening points of contact with the camera aside from the bottom?

A: No eyelet holes are offered on the Falcam Quick Release Camera Cage for Panasonic Lumix S1/S1R/S1H. Still, there is an anti-twist bar in the lower front portion of the cage to provide another point of contact along with the 1/4"-20 screw when mounting the camera.

Q: 10. Is the plate that attaches the camera to the cage compatible with Manfrotto 501 style video heads? Can a second 501 style plate be attached below the base that holds the 15mm rods?

A: The plate that attaches to the camera is 501 compatible. the connection at the bottom is an arri dovetail. what most people do is mount a dovetail plate on top of their tripod because the arri dovetail is much easier to get larger camera systems on/off a tripod. however if you prefer to use the 501 plate instead you can mount the dovetail plate to the bottom of this cage and then attach a 501 plate beneath the dovetail. Here is an example of a dovetail that you can use: Kondor Blue 12" ARRI Lightweight Dovetail Plate B&H # KOARRIDP MFR # KB-ARRI-DP

[1.54 lb] I have been for more than 10 years a Nikon D700/D800/D850 shooters coupled with Panasonic 4/3 offerings when weight was an issue. The recent Panasonic G9 4/3 body was very convincing for me, so much so that the Nikon D850 stayed for weeks at home... When Panasonic announced the S1R, I could not resist but to pre-order it. It is been now 6 weeks I am using the S1R with 3 Leica SL lenses, and I am delighted. The commands (buttons and interfaces) are perfect. Inspired by Nikon, but better. One example: with the iOS app, it is possible to geotag your pictures without depleting the camera battery (contrary to Nikon). It is also possible to upload full 47Mpix files on your iOS devices (hello Nikon?). Sensor stabilisation is life saving (no such things on the D850). It is remarkable to have 2 cameras with the same User Interface with different format. I now switch between the Panasonic G9 and this S1R depending on my customers need for resolution, and the type of images wanted (long lenses with 4/3, ...). Panasonic is really slowly and steadily making a revolution in the camera world. I forgot: the Leica SL lenses have no equivalent in the Nikon world. Amazing glass, best of class.

[11 x 6.8 x 3.5"] First version did not work on Panasonic S1H. The new one Kondor Blue sent works great. It is now a 2 piece design. Part one is dummy battery part 2 is the cable that now plugs into 12V on Kondor blue battery plate. The cable connector is threaded and the dummy battery part screws into it. I've provided a pic to show what I'm describing.

[1.54 lb] Not sure what to write, it’s a cable after all. However, it seems to be very well built so no fear of it falling apart.

[11 x 6.8 x 3.5"] As a landscape photographer (no video), I am loving the “Beast”. IMO, Panasonic have the best menu system available, the ability to customize the many buttons, the excellent glass, and the beautiful RAW files are all excellent! Dynamic range is great, low light performance is terrific, and the EVF and LCD are awesome. It did take some time to get a handle on all of the settings available, but between the My Menu and custom buttons, it is now very easy to operate quickly. The Sigma adapter has worked well and opens up a wide range of additional glass that can handle this resolution. Works fine in the rain. Yes, it is DSLR big and heavier than a D850 or GFX50, and it is expensive (although the current $700 price promotion helps). The focusing system does not lend itself to sports. The battery is ok, but get an extra one. So if you want small, light, less costly, or shoot action, best look elsewhere. No camera is perfect, but this one is very, very close - for me. As always, B&H provided excellent service.

[Cage] Not sure why the other buyer had the issue. Mine fit perfectly with the S1H. There are two screws at each side to adjust how much you want the camera to sit in. For the S1H, I removed those two screws and the camera fits very well to the cage, but still maintain tiny air gaps.

As for the functions and value, it is really hard to beat. We can slide the camera into the cage and then slide it out for mounting to the gimbal without any tool. Functionally very similar to how Bright Tangerine thinks about designs but the price from Kondor Blue is in the affordable side.

[11 x 6.8 x 3.5"] Most versatile full-frame camera I have owned

With the new 5K full-frame video option added with the latest firmware update, this ticks all the boxes for me. I do a lot of video work, landscape photography, and multi-media work including anamorphic, 360VR and gigapixel images. Mostly in pretty extreme conditions in Antarctica. This camera does everything brilliantly all in one package, and has almost immediately become my number one go-to camera. With the sigma adapter for my old canon glass my lens choices are pretty much unlimited. I mostly shoot full manual, but find the autofocus to be fine for everything I do too. The manual focus peaking options are better than any other camera I have used.

[Cage] Coming from a Gh5, I love what Panasonic has down with the S series. Going Full frame adds to more versatility. You have 3 crop modes to choose from. Full frame, APS-C, and pixel to pixel (micro four thirds) I find myself using the APS-C crop when I need a touch more reach.

Build quality is rugged. Grip feels great in the hands.

Image Quality is impressive! I shot a plane as it flew by with just a 50mm lens on the S1R and I could zoom in to read the lettering!

For video it has some improvements over the Gh5, more dynamic range, yes the S1R has no option for V Log :( However the included Flat profile is solid. Highlights don’t clip as harsh and you can pull back the highlights in post a lot further than the Gh5.

I’m not a fan of the vari angle screen. It’s fantastic for behind the camera, but if you film yourself or have your camera in an awkward placement it’s too hard to work with.

The S1H looks to solve my main problems so if you are looking for a GH5 upgrade and don’t want to loose any features your used to then I would recommend the S1H over the S1R

[11 x 6.8 x 3.5"] No amount of online review could not prepare you for the experience, I was more than happy with the handling of this 'large' mirrorless camera. The amount of customisation control available in this camera is simply amazing, made other brand camera pale in comparison. The speed of operation and the handling of this camera made me want to shoot more than other cameras, the image quality from the jpeg files is amongst the best I have seen.

I can adapt to many of my Canon and Sigma SA lenses with the CF21 adaptor, the focusing speed is certainly good enough for landscape and portraiture but I'm looking forward to more native L mount lenses from both Panasonic and Sigma to become available in the not too distant future.

The S1R is to replace my Canon because of the amazingly clear and bright viewfinder plus I can use all the lenses I have acquired over the years, so my years of investment is not wasted.

[1x Cold Shoe] This camera is perfect solution of resolution.
The best camera on the market.

It seems impossible to let go of this camera.

I'm looking forward to the L mount lens coming out in the future.

I love panasonic.

[11 x 6.8 x 3.5"] I recently upgraded to the S1R after years of using the Panasonic GH4. There wasn't much of a learning curve being a prior Panasonic shooter, but even if I wasn't I feel like it wouldn't be difficult to familiarize myself with the camera. Panasonic has made yet another incredible camera that is packed with features and a menu system that is very easy to navigate and customize. The biggest worry for me was that this camera would be overbearing and cumbersome coming from the micro four thirds systems. The S1R is far from cumbersome; the larger body fits to my hands exceptionally well and handles exceptionally well too. The picture quality is incredible and the extra pixels help give you all the extra room you could want for cropping images. The 24-105mm lens that came with the camera is stellar as well. In the future I am definitely going to add to my gear, but this lens doesn't leave me wanting or feeling limited for the time being. To summerize, the S1R is an absolute beast of a camera system and for the price I got it I couldn't be happier with my purchase.
