[0.775 lb] As someone who loves landscape photos, having a portable and light set up is essential especially for those long hikes. Instead of getting a regular camera backpack, I decided to use a dedicated hiking backpack and use an insert.


Having researched all of the options on Amazon and B&H. The dimensions of this one fit perfectly as a slide in to the hiking backpack. It's able to fit a Sony A7r iii and 2 zoom lenses. The insert is firm and more sturdy than some of the alternatives on amazon and stands up on it's own. It's nicely padded to help withstand some of the impact from all directions.


I think it's possible to fit 1 zoom lens on the body + 2 small primes on the side for a slightly different set up. The zoom lenses are less than 6 inches in length and fit perfectly.


Additionally, the stretchy mesh pockets on ALL 4 sides are perfect for storing quick camera cleaning supplies like a brush and wipe. The inside zipper pocket is great for storing small things for easier access.

[0.775 lb] I purchased one a few months ago to pair with a zippered Filson Rugged Twill tote bag. As a photojournalist, it’s a great combination for a shooting bag when I need to be discreet—the BYOB 10 insert fits perfectly into the Filson tote, but this would be great for any appropriately sized tote/shoulder bag you wanted to convert into a camera bag. The three adjustable compartments easily two mirrorless bodies with pro zooms attached (a 24-70 and 70-200 or 100-400), with space for a speedlite/strobe. The smaller pockets (in the lid, on side, etc) I use for batteries, drives, etc. Really nice product (even if the woven pattern is a bit ugly, IMO.)

[0.775 lb] I got this as a gift for my daughter. It fits her Nikon 5600 and kit lens perfectly. She will be using it with a backpack, so the padding is a plus.

[0.775 lb] I can fit my small mirrorless camera, charger, extra batteries and SD card case in this bag. It then fits in my backpack instead of having an extra bag that shouts out I have an expensive camera and protects my equipment! Also, then doesn't count as an extra carryon! Win, win!

[Black] I purchased this to store a leica range finder w/ a couple lenses, some filters, and a spare battery - all inside a larger backpack (goruck gr1). It fits everything perfectly, and takes up a reasonable amount of space in the backpack.

[Black] This camera insert can be used as a stand-alone camera bag when you want to protect your camera when you take it to a party or another quick jaunt.

It's real value to me, though, is that it fits nicely into the center compartment to my traveling briefcase. The cushion sides, bottom, and top of the BYOB protect the camera ... and placing it in the center of the bag protects it even more. And it reduces how many things I have to carry when traveling and, when I am at my destination, I can remove the BYOB from my briefcase and use it as a camera bag. A good buy.

[Zipper] I had searched and searched for a carrying/storage bag for my Canon RP with the 35mm f/1.8 lens attached. The dimensions of this bag might as well have been designed specifically for just that purpose. Though the description states the bag is primarily intended to be an insert in another bag, the padding and exterior finish are every bit as hardy as any number of bags I’ve owned over the years. The construction leaves nothing to complain about, even the zippers work as smooth as glass. My quest has ended. Thanks!

[Zipper] I have had the original version of this for a while and use it in a backpack and standalone. This updated version with carrying strap is even better when using it as a standalone bag out of the backpack.

I have found this to be better than any of the camera backpacks because I get to use one my fav travel backpacks that still functions primarily as a backpack versus all camera gear focused. I'm usually carrying one R8 sized body with a 25-105 attached and one or two other lenses, plus spare batteries. Great for travel.
