Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How would I determine which size to get? Is there guide for either total-height range or waist-height range per stool?

A: To determine which one yhou might want, I would measure a dining room chair that you find comfortable. I am 6ft 2in tall and would buy the 45cm (18") one. I am not sure what the two taller ones would be used for since they are about "bar height" when extended.

Q: 2. Has anyone had problems with the legs pulling completely out bypassing the locking pins? I've tried pulling out the legs slowly but even then sometimes the pins don't engage.

A: Never a problem for me, though I haven't used mine but a dozen times. I tried twisting the legs a bit when pulling out, and the leg always stayed in. They can be pulled out by pressing the red button and then re-inserted. After doing this three times for each leg all are as secure as originally.

Q: 3. What's the maximum weight

A: Max weight is 550lbs. Traveled with it in Ireland for 2 weeks with substantial use by someone who is 400 lbs. Never felt that it stressed the limit. Felt very secure. There are only two heights - 18in and 30 in, so if 30 in is at the top of your seating range, go with one size down - it will be more comfortable.

Q: 4. can you use it on the beach?

A: I haven't tried it on the beach but I don't think it was meant for that & it might not work so well on sand. It's fine on a flat smooth surface.

Q: 5. This isn't adjustable height?

A: No, the height is Not adjustable on this stool.

Q: 6. What is weight of stool

A: The Walkstool Basic Stool (20") weighs 1.5 lb.

Q: 7. I am 5:5 inches tall. I have bad knees and my back is beginning to ache. I was told that the WALKSTOOL 55 is right for me. Others claim that the WALKSTOOL 45 is the right one. I am reaching out to the community. Which one is best? Help!!!!! Thanks.

Q: 8. Does this company have a US based operation to handle warranty issues, or would I have to send the product back all the way to Sweden?

A: They do not have a US Based Location. My apologies. They only offer Warranty issues with their base in Sweden. Link to Warranty Info: http://www.walkstool.com/contact

Q: 9. How many different heights can it adjust to?

A: only one height 30 inches. I returned the one I bought because it was to high. I then purchased the small one 45L and I am very happy with my purchase. I am 6 ft tall the 45L in 18 inch high great for a stool. It is easy to carry and very sturdy.

Q: 10. height of the stool?

A: Height Min/Max 22 (55 cm) / 13 (33 cm)

[1.615 lb] I'm 6' tall and this works well for me. Good build quality and light weight.

[1.615 lb] I use this stool constantly, every day when I am out birding. It allows me to get low (I'm too old to lie flat on the ground!) and not spook the birds! Also, it helps me to stabilize myself better, using my knee as a tripod.

[1.615 lb] This fold up stool is just what I was looking for. Spending hours on my knees shooting High School basketball was killing my knees. I tried all kinds of knee pads from volleyball to strap on construction types and after 3 to 4 hrs my knees were hurting. This Walkstool puts me almost at the same height as kneeling did and is comfortable the whole time.
It is light and It easily folds up so you can move around the court with it . When in use it is very steady and doesn't want to tip over.
With the big feet I'm sure it will work outside shooting soccer as well.
Wish I had purchased one a long time ago.

[1.615 lb] This retractable stool is very sturdy, light to carry and comfortable to sit on during photography shoots. Also easy to clean off after being planted in sand on the beach. Highly recommended.

[1.615 lb] I owned a previous version of this same stool. I used it to shoot sports for over 10 years. Then, I sat on it and heard the seat tear a little and I just couldn't trust it anymore. So, I bought a new one. These stools are AWESOME! They're super light weight, compact, and durable. You can sit at its normal height or you can sit on it without extending the legs (this is handy when sitting low to shoot field sports - and it even swivels easily then too). Just be careful that the surface is strong enough so the feet don't sink into the dirt or turf surface.

[1.615 lb] I am primarily a botanical photographer so I often need to get close to the ground to line up a picture. I had 2 of the collapsable circular stools, both of which stopped working with repetitive use. This stool is still new, but it is working for me on my first extended trip after purchase. Though it does not collapse as much as the circular stool, it has a simple design that I believe will last on successive trips.

[1.615 lb] This stool is about the height of a standard chair. Very sturdy, just make sure the legs are locked. It travels well too. I put it in the outside (tripod) pocket of my bag and carry it that way.

[1.615 lb] I have only used it once, so far, but it seems very well made and will stand up to the rigors of using it on uneven surfaces. I had a plastic collapsible seat for a few years, but it always struggled on anything but perfectly flat and level placements - it took on some damage on a couple of occasions and then I had a complete fail a week or so ago. This stool is actually lighter than the plastic stool and is much smaller than my tripod. In my photo backpack I have the tripod in one side pouch and the stool on the other side. Perfect!

[1.615 lb] I haven't been able to use this in the field yet but it is very compact and light when folded up and the extension legs means more versatility potentially. Although I will say that I didn't think it was all that sturdy until I extended the legs all the way out. It's a pretty small seating area and not super comfortable but I know there are other versions which are made to be bigger and more comfortable and I settled for basic functionality.

[1.615 lb] This is great for my wife who is recovering from surgery right now. She can sit when needed and this thing is so small and light!

One bit of advice, don't expect to extend the legs with a flick of the wrist, they just fly out. You've gotta pull them out one at a time.
