Q: 1. I just received this item. When I mount the bar to a set of tripod legs and turn the rubber wheel to tighten the screw, the wheel is very difficult to turn and sometimes I need both hands to turn it. Has anyone else experienced this?

A: It will depend on what you mean by difficult. The central thumb screw under the center of the Mounting arm is manufactured from rubber for better grip, but it can seem a bit awkward to to tighten. Two tips would be to 1) Ensure the screw on the bottom center of the Mounting Arm is properly seated on the screw on the top of your tripod's center column, and 2) Try holding the thumbscrew dial and instead, turn the entire bar clockwise to tighten the mounting bar to the center column on your tripod. While it should not be overly difficult if you are following the above instructions and the instructions listed in the instruction manual, and you still seem to be having issues with connecting the mounting bar to your tripod, I would recommend contacting Oben directly for assistance with the Mounting Bar either by calling them at (212) 594-2120 or by e-mailing them at info {at} obensupports {dot} com. If you purchased the item within the last 30 days, you may also contact our Customer Service Department to inquire about returning the item for an exchange or a refund.

Q: 2. Hello , I have the ultra lite hd will it work with my set ?

A: The UltraPAK can be used with Eartec's variety of wired headsets and the HUB base station.

Q: 3. Does this come with any mic cables?

A: The COM-60FC 6 user set does not include cables.

Q: 4. What is the difference between this and the CM-130 that only costs $59.99? The specs are the same except that this one has lower bass response. What specifically is different in this model warrant double the price?

A: The CM-140 meets IEC 651 Type II & ANSI S1.4 Type II standards while the CM-130 model does not.

Q: 5. Will this item work with my Comstar model Pro2000?

A: Eartec Compatibility only: HUB Mini Base and UltraLITE headsets

Q: 6. What's the difference between this and the Ultralites? Looks like same headset body.

A: The Eartec UltraLite headset has all of the electronics built into the earcups to eliminate the need for a belt-worn transceiver. The Max4G is a midweight headset which does not have the electronics built in and requires a wired connection to a separate transceiver like the UltraPAK.

Q: 7. What is the load capacity?

A: The manufacturer has not specified a a weight capacity for the Oben TAB-4M Four-Mount Tripod Accessory Bar as there are many variables in terms of how it can be set up. This can comfortably hold at least 20 lb, but there is no set specification for this.

Q: 8. Can you add some wireless units to this setup?

A: The PortaCom WingMAN 500 Intercom Interface Station, BH #POWM500 can be used to connect this hardwired system to ProtaCom UltraLink or Clearcom wireless stations.

Q: 9. How does this model compare with the Manfrotto 131DD?

A: They are functionally the same and have the same type of excellent reviews.

Q: 10. Will it work in Canada ?

A: Yes it will.

[MMCX] This intercom headset is fantastic for long shows (ie. concerts, presentations, etc.). I work as a freelance camera operator, and when running handheld it's very useful to be able to hear intercom in both ears. With the standard headset, you would have to wear an earplug and single muff headset.

[16 Ohms] I work hundreds of TV crews yearly, and I was looking for a headset that could give be a better fit that didn’t squeeze the side of my head like traditional single / double muff headsets.

This headset works great in almost any sporting event (regardless of the loudness of the area around me). At times, I do have to slightly adjust the fit around my ears, but it fits very comfortably.

[MMCX] First thing Id like to mention, Ive used this headset for handheld camera operation on tv crews during some conventions and I dont own this headset(in the process of buying 1 for myself). And honestly I have no issues with it, its comfortable, its flexible, very reliable, and definitely wonderful when on camera. Now I do agree with the other review in that its practically not possible to hear anyone talking to you while wearing the headset with both ear buds in.  But that tells me it does its job very well.  I will say that when my grip is trying to talk to me when Im wearing this wonderful headset all I have to do is pop out 1 of the earbuds and problem of not hearing solved very quickly and its easy to put the in ears back in once out and they hold very well.  Now with all that being said, I will say that for me personally this headset works very well, but each person that is using this type of gear has to find what works best for them individually. For those like myself that this headset works great, its a worthy product. for those that its not great for them, another product will be better.  Hope this helps future buyers!

[16 Ohms] My biggest issue with traditional broadcast headsets were the usability, being the lack of it. By the end of a show, the headsets would barely stay on my head because I was hot and sweaty. This headset is fantastic. I don't have to worry about it falling of. I can run with a steadicam and not have to pick up my headset after the shot. Highly recommend this.

[16 Ohms] Others have complaints about this item. While it may not be perfect it was the only option I could find which solved a problem for me. Until someone designs and sells a better version this one is 5 stars! Thank you Point Source Audio for making a niche item available.

[200 Ohms] I purchased this Intercom Headset to use with our system at church. I really like how I could use my custom in ear monitors with this headset and how comfortable it is to wear. On Christmas Eve, I had this on for over 10 hours as I directed two rehearsals and three services. The stage captain, executive producer, and video director all commented on how clear the audio was from the microphone. My only regret is that I didn't purchase this sooner!

[200 Ohms] I use it for calling spot lights in a live concert setting. Aside from not having to use the house head set. This headset is clear, comfortable and durable. Only downside being that is kind of expensive, but in this case you totally get what you've paid for. But gooD luck finding an rts adapter.

[16 Ohms] I'm extremely happy with my point source. The buds that come with it aren't my favorite but you can easily switch them out with Shure 215s without having to rerun the cable through the casing.
