Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is it possible to attach a ring light?

A: The Slik Sliding Arm II has a standard 1/4"-20 head mounting screw. If the ring light has a 1/4"-20 socket it will mount. If the ring light has a different mount you will need an adapter.

Q: 2. Hi I just got this stand in and was very disappointed because the stand is too tall! Im assuming I just fit the pieces together right?

A: Yes. The vertical pole is designed with 2 pieces but the upper pole section isn't required to use the stand. I also have a problem with the upper pole installed as it's too tall for my studio ceiling. However, in my circumstance, by leaving the upper pole off, the vertical adjustment with just the lower pole is all that I need due to the size of my softboxes. I have read where others have used a metal hack-saw to cut the upper pole to an acceptable height based on their requirements.

Q: 3. Will this fit the Impact Folding Wheel base stand? - BH # IMLSPSFB8

A: This product is specifically for the Impact Column Stand with Sliding Arm and most column stands with a 1.4-inch diameter, which do not have any additional risers at the top like the Impact Folding Wheel Base Stand.

Q: 4. Will it fit the Impact Deluxe Varipole Support System?

A: Unfortunately, no, the Impact Sliding Arm Support with Hand Grip is not compatible for use with the Impact Deluxe Varipole Support System. It is only compatible for use with the Impact Column Stand. The Impact Column Stand has a uniform tubing diameter of 1.38” (35mm), while the Autopoles and Varipoles have a larger tubing diameter of (bottom) 1.77” (45.4mm) & (top) - 1.58” (40mm). They are not compatible or interchangeable with one another.

Q: 5. Will this hold a Bowens Gemini 500 monolight with a soft box ?

A: No. It will hold the monolight with no problem but using a softbox will cause it tip with the slightest movement, unless some weight is placed on the opposite leg. Also, there is not much clearance to adjust the angle of the softbox. It is an awesome stand for a single light. I have 2 of them and one I use as a camera tripod when shooting in studio. The pistol grip allows for very quick adjustments.

Q: 6. Doe the sliding arm rotate around the pole without engaging the pistol grip? I need stationary for camera mount.

A: The Impact Sliding Arm Support with Hand Grip BH #IMME126 arm can be fixed to a position for use with cameras.

Q: 7. Will this fit a Mathew's c stand?

A: The Impact Sliding Arm Support with Hand Grip will not fit the column on a Matthews C-Stand.

Q: 8. Im using an 86 PLM and Einstein with this based on recommendation from Rachel Vanoven. Do I need any other attachments or mounts ??

A: You dont need any other attachments or mounts. I use Einstein with 86 Plm as well and this stand is a dream to work with. Enjoy!

Q: 9. Is there a shorter top section that you can buy? (without using a hacksaw to cut it to make it shorter.)

A: The Manfrotto 231B Column Stand with Sliding Arm (8') comes only in that complexation. As an alternative there is a slightly lower one at 7.25ft Impact Column Stand with Sliding Arm https://bhpho.to/3tLAz84

Q: 10. Would you trust this to hold securely with the tripod center pole mounted horizontally, such as is supported by Manfrotto 055 models?

A: With a load capacity or 22 pounds this is a very sturdy Leveling Unit. Just as long as the load is below 22 pounds it should work well horizontally.

[1.73 lb] This stand is very good to hold strobes. I use it with the GODOX AD600Pro strobe. It is easy to roll around, and there is a wheel lock on each wheel, which work great. The sliding arm works as it should. I did add weights to the legs to help when I use a Large soft box on my strobe.

[4.4 lb / 2 kg] It can be moved up and down, rotated around the pole with a one hand squeeze, making it very easy to adjust equipments such as lights, cameras, and microphones. Together with Impact Column Stand, it is a good alternative to booms in situations such as vlogging.

[20.4 x 4.9 x 3"] One of the most versatile products I have ever used as I can place a tether table as well as I can place moonlights, flashes at different heights or even my own camera.Offering control and firmness over the things you hold by adding another pistolgrip to the unit, the possibilities are endless. A good product super recommended for all types of photographic scenery
