Add a fixed block-style camera to your live broadcast productions, courtroom sessions, government assemblies, live sports and newscasts, or houses of worship with this Marshall CV355-30X-NDI HD Camera 30x Zoom NDI/3G-SDI/HDMIfrom Marshall Electronics. This compact block camera features an 8.5MP sensor and simultaneous NDI, 3G/HD-SDI, and HDMI outputs with embedded audio. It can capture up to 1080p60 video and features low-light sensitivity and a 30x optical zoom.

The 30x zoom features an adjustable focal length from 4.6 to 135mm and an angle of view up to 68° at its widest, ensuring optimal image crispness across the entire range. Along with supporting NDI video output that is compatible with a standard NDI network and NDI tools, the camera's RJ45 Ethernet port also supports IP control and can power the camera via PoE (Power-over-Ethernet). There are also RS-232 serial input and output ports as well as 3.5mm audio input and output ports that support passthrough audio.

Q: 1. Is this able to act as both an encoder to encode SDI to NDI through the SDI input, and decoder to decode NDI to SDI through the output simultaneously? Or is the SDI output simply a loop through?

A: The SCIENCE IMAGE NDI Mini HD Bidirectional 3G-SDI/HDMI Encoder/Decoder can only be set to a single working mode of either encode or decode, not simultaneous encode and decode. The SDI output encoder is a looped-out picture, and the decoder is decoded output picture.

Q: 2. I see UDP protocol, is this VISCA over UDP?

A: No it is not. Here is the list of control protocols listed in Marshall's manual DHCP, DNS, HTTP, HTTPS, IPv4, UDP, NDI. VISCA is not mentioned once in the manual therefore it is safe to say the camera can not accept VISCA over UDP.

Q: 3. I see the headset logo on the device for the 3.5mm jack. Is this for comms? Or just an audio in input?

A: The 3.5mm audio port on the Kiloview N3-S 3G-SDI and NDI Bidirectional Converter is a line-level input/output for audio in the encoded or decoded video feed.

[2.2 lb / 1 kg] I was worried that it would be difficult to configure, but one single ethernet cable connected to a POE injector and they have power and provide a pristine image to Vimeo's Livestream Studio. It took seconds to go from no signal to live streaming. And learning to set presents and recall presents is as easy as 1, 2, 3. Literally. Push preset, Push a number, and then Push enter. These are well worth the investment. 5

[1/4"-20 Female] This was purchased for a church to stream services. We wanted 3 angles and so this was perfect. We added in an ATEM switcher and off we went. These cameras are easily set up with SDI cables and simple ethernet cables. Word of advice, the controller MUST be a similar IP as the cameras to work. By default it is nowhere near the cameras IP range. The cameras perform well in our lighting which I expect with the lens quality on these. I do get flares from bright lights which might can be fixed in the settings. Our total cost came out to slightly over $5000 for everything. You don't need a computer if you get a high end ATEM switcher, only a good monitor or TV which we had laying around. 5

[4.6 to 135mm] I purchased this PTZ camera for our church auditorium to both record our weekend services and web streaming. We absolutely love the clarity and ease of use of this camera. We're only using it with 1080p but I hope to update it for 4K in the near future. We're feeding the signal via SDI to our Blackmagic gear and there is no communication issue involved. 5

[2.2 lb / 1 kg] This is a fine camera but first, it took a little effort to get it up and running because the factory default frame rate is 30fps, and none of my Marshall monitor's accepted it. Finally, using an ordinary TV set I managed to change the rate to the monitor rate and now it works just fine. Second, the provided remote control works fine with this camera, but the nearly identical-looking remote control provided for the Marshall CV350-10XB does not seem to work with the CV355-10X. Should it? 5

[2.2 lb / 1 kg] The camera is doing a great job with live-streaming our church service. We did have to down scale it for our provider but in time technology will improve in their end. The camera does not have any image stabilization so if you are zoomed in over a long range someone walking by will create a slight tremble in the image if you don’t have it mounted on something to absorb the shock. We are covering a distance of about 65 feet and it produces a great image for us. 5

[2.2 lb / 1 kg] I am using this with an NDI workflow(NDI functionality requires a $200 license from NewTeck) and it has been great. I have not upgraded to 4K yet($660 license from Sony) but with that and NDI added it is the best Price/Feature PTZ I have come across yet! 5
