The Litepanels Astra 6X Bi-Color LED Light Panel V-Mountfrom Litepanels Astra 6X Bi-Color LED Light Panel V-Mountoffers significantly brightness due to the use of tightly-binned LEDs and fine-tuned TIR (Total Internal Reflection) optics, resulting in a longer throw over a wider field. It offers flicker-free 0-100% dimming with no visible color shift, and has a high CRI of 95 for accurate color rendering

The Astra's functions may be adjusted locally using the intuitive built-in controls, or operated remotely with one of the optional DMX512 Modules, available in XLR 5-Pin, RJ-45, or Wireless formats. Each module provides Master/Replica configuration for the control of single lights, or multiple light fixtures in a network or daisy chain. In addition, the Astra Bluetooth module provides the same kind of control of single or multiple lights from a portable device, using the free LitePanels SmartLite app download. The accessory modules slide into place on the rear of the Astra panel simply and quickly, with no wiring or complex installation required.

The Astra 6X Bi-Color comes with both US and EU power cables, plus a universal (100-240 VAC) adapter. It also operates on 13-24 VDC batteries by using V-Mount or Gold Mount battery plates, available separately. The unique curved yoke design features a TVMP connector for hanging or stand mounting the panel almost anywhere, and two additional 1/4"-20 female taps offer alternate mounting points.

A: No, the IndiPRO Tools Micro-Series 26V 260Wh Lithium-Ion Batteries will not work with the Litepanels Astra 6X Bi-Color LED Light Panel. This light requires batteries that range from 13 to 24 VDC.

Q: 2. Is there an option to simply plug these lights in or are they battery powered only?

A: Yes, comes with the power supply.

Q: 3. How many lumens is each light?

A: While a lumens rating is not provided by the manufacturer, they do list this panel as comparable to the output of a 200 watt HMI light.

A: It depends on the power (not the capacity) of your batteries. The lights draw 110W at full power. Most newer AB batteries can handle 110W, but older ones and smaller ones can not. Try to find the power specs of your lights, either in Watts, or in Amps and multiply by 14v to get Watts. (PS: VoltAmps and Watts are the same thing, so multiply Voltage times Amps to get power limit)

Q: 6. Does it run dimming at 100% on batterry? It is 24vdc its means that it take too much power for regular 12vdc batterry ( 95 mwh). I have one 6x and it shutdown if i dim it more than 50%

A: On our 95Wh we only use these up to 50% or so. We use a bigger 160wh if we need to run on battery at full strength.

Q: 7. What v mount battery is best to use for this light.

A: I use the Core SWX 150 batteries... I get anywhere from 6 to 2.5 hours of continuous use with them from 50-100%. Ive used the 98 batteries but they just dont last as much.

Q: 8. Does this come with Light Stand?

A: Light stand is not included.

Q: 9. What is the comparable output at full power as compared with ARRI fresnels (ie, 1K open faced, 650w, 300w, etc)?

A: The Astra 6x makes about 18,000LUX at one meter. Its supposed to be loosely equivalent to a 1k tungsten.

Q: 10. Is this model compatible with the Litepanels bluetooth controller?

A: Yes if you buy the Bluetooth module of course.

[105 W ] After owning AND using these lights since 2019, I am finally providing my review. When I purchased and built my 3-light kit, there were several reviews that stated issues with the LEDs going dark or lights not working properly. I haven’t had any of these issues with any of my lights; all LEDs are lighting properly. I have used these lights for many different projects including documentary, news and indie films. Pros: Work great outdoors with daylight and sunlight; on-board battery will keep it going for 1 hour 15 minutes (when fully charged and light set at maximum power). Cons: not exactly compact; accessories such as soft boxes and egg crates are expensive and not fast to set up. Overall I do recommend this light if you are needing something to work with natural daylight and want something that will last for years to come. 5

[105 W ] I have 8 of these now and they work great, especially with the DMX module and a board. They can be harsh, so barn doors with diffusion or the snap bag work great. If in studio, I shoot through a silk. Great for location with batteries. 5

[Proprietary] I needed something that was powerful to light up large rooms, light enough to move around with the capability of using battery if need be and these lights checked all the boxes. I purchased 3 of them and was super impressed with how much they can light up a room. We purchased the soft box with it and I highly recommend doing that, because they are super strong and having that diffusion helps. I highly recommend these lights to anyone. 5
