A: When you buy the camera, it comes with a charger that plugs into the wall, then a mini-USB connector connects to the camera to charge the battery. That's how I have used it for years. Apparently they do sell an external charger for these batteries. I have a couple of these batteries, and it is frustrating on a trip to have to charge the batteries one at a time, in the camera. You might want to get the external charger.
