Q: 1. Is this compatible with the Blackmagic Design ATEM Talkback Converter 4K, Blackmagic Design ATEM Camera Converter and the Blackmagic Design Studio Camera 4K?

A: I have 3 of these in my Talkback Converter 4K and they work well. I was a little upset when I opened the Talkback Converter 4K and found it doesn't come with any of these modules, but that's another story. I'm only using 1080 stuff so it's not a big deal that it only passes 3G signals. As noted before though these won't work if you want to use the full 4K signal from a camera. But over 250 meters of fiber (that I've used) it sends a great 1080 signal both ways.

Q: 2. Can it be used with multimode fiber for short runs (¿OM3?) ?

A: Short answer is Yes it has worked with multi mode fiber on short runs but it’s unreliable over time so I would recommend getting a multi mode sfp module if that’s the fiber you have to work with

Q: 3. Will Madiface operate as USB class compliant device? (using 32x32 channels I/O)

A: The MADIface USB MIDI is class compliant. Therefore it comes without a driver. OS X recognizes it as MIDI device and will be using it with the driver included in the operating system. Like any audio interface the MADIface USB should have a data transmission to the computer as undisturbed as possible. The easiest way to guarantee this is to connect it to its own bus, which should be no big problem as most USB 2.0 interfaces are a double bus design. A check in the Device Manager can be done as follows: ¾ Connect the MADIface USB to a USB port ¾ Start the Device Manager, choose View Devices by Connection ¾ Select ACPI x86-based PC, Microsoft ACPI-Compliant System, expand PCI Bus

Q: 4. How many Distance covered this SFP?

A: Approximately 1000 feet.

Q: 5. Is it possible to use the BNC connection as external Word Clock and MADI input at the same time? Thank you

A: Yes, the BNC MADI coaxial connections on the RME MADIface USB 128-Channel USB Interface can be used for an external Word Clock and for MADI input at the same time when using the RME Settings app.

Q: 6. Are these compatible with the Blackmagic Design Mini Converter Optical Fiber 12G-SDI?

A: Yes it will work.

Q: 7. Hello. I have four blackmagic 4k tv studio cameras, a 40x40 blackmagic hub, and a Atem 2 blackmagic switcher. To use the full capabily conection what more i need? Tahan you

A: If you are asking about fiber connections from the Studio Camera to the ATEM switcher, you would need the ATEM Talkback Converter which will convert fiber to SDI at the studio end. Also this will provide talkback to your cameras.

Q: 8. Is Digiface USB, USB class compliant?

A: Yes it is: The Digiface USB has a Class Compliant mode. Like any audio interface the Digiface USB should have a data transmission to the computer as undisturbed as possible. The easiest way to guarantee this is to connect it to its own bus, which should be no big problem as most USB 2.0 interfaces are a double bus design. A check in the Device Manager can be done as follows: ¾ Connect the Digiface USB to a USB port ¾ Start the Device Manager, View set to Devices by Connection ¾ Select ACPI x86-based PC, Microsoft ACPI-Compliant System, expand PCI Bus

Q: 9. Is this compatible with the Analog Way Ascender?

A: I have no idea! i don't manufacture either and i only have the black magic line of gear

Q: 10. Is this full-height or half-height (low profile) card? I.e. does it fit in a small form factor PC?

A: The HDSPe AIO Pro PCI Express Audio Interface Card is a full sized PCIe card.

Bought to use in USB class-compliant mode but also occasionally use it with a Windows 11 PC. The USB driver passes all of the Windows Driver Verifier checks. And it works pretty well in Linux, too, though one cannot access all of its features.

Very impressive headphone outputs, low latency for MIDI, great mic preamps, great for powered speakers. I love it!

It has an amazingly small footprint which is exactly what I needed given that I have very little space on my desk. It sounds fantastic, great clarity and sonic spacing without adding anything to the audio. The inputs/outputs are easy to control. Great design. It's USB 2.0 bus powered if you wish. USB 2.0 works just fine with this unit, I haven't had any issues with it. Don't confuse throughput with functionality. If you're not scoring a 150 track piece with this, then you'll be just fine. The TotalMix software is a bit confusing but really flexible. I highly recommend this device for anyone with limited space but needs higher audio fidelity. It seems pricey but once you use it, you'll appreciate all the engineering that went into this, well worth it.

I am delighted with this new ADAT to USB interface from RME. This unit is very new and many vendors were not even carrying it yet. Thanks to B&H for ordering it for me! I received delivery of this special order in less than 2 weeks. Prior to this piece of hardware becoming available it was difficult to find a device or interface with 4 ADAT inputs. Now I can bring 16 channels of audio at 24bit / 96khz into my Audio workstation or laptop. Note, while I like recording at 96 kHz, using a sample rate of 48khz will allow throughput of 32 channels of audio and increasing sample rate to 192khz will limit throughput to 8 channels. I am using the RME Digiface USB along an RME Babyface Pro which allows me to bring another 4 optical channels at the same bit and sample rate into my workstation. To control input from the Digiface USB simultaneously while using the Babyface Pro requires separate TotalFX software control windows for each device (the manual explains this in more detail). I am currently bringing in 8 channels from an Audient ASP880 preamp and will add another 8 channel preamp soon. One thing that definitely stands out, is how small and compact this device is...maybe less than a quarter of the size of the Babyface Pro. So it will not take up a lot of space on your desk or in your kit. Same excellent quality and function that I have enjoyed from RME in the past.

I had an Apollo Solo (Windows USB) and needed to sitch to an interface that was Mac/Windows compatible. After watching a number of YouTube reviews and reading Reddit threads, I opted for the Fireface. It works great. I really appreciate the number of inputs and the totalmix software is excellent. Sound quality is noticeably better than the other interfaces I have. It comes at a premium price, but I think it's still good value.

I wanted to update from my UA Arrow. Didn't really love UA sound or reliability. This thing sounds amazing! Some people complain about Totalmix setup, but I found it easy and intuitive. My Shure SM7B sounds clear and has enough gain to run it without mic booster. This thing is top notch!

I also have a UCX II for a 5.1 setup, and needed a more portable solution with less IO and a similar sonic profile for traveling and doing simpler stereo work. The sound of this unit is clean, clear, honest, and indistinguishable (to me, at least) from the UCX II. The build is incredibly solid, and the included case is a nice touch. One caveat about the RME products is that these are professional grade tools, and you will not be able to jump right in and start using these without some baseline knowledge. The necessary TotalMix companion utility is by no means difficult to use or poorly designed (quite the opposite), but you'll have a learning curve with it. It's totally worth it! But the Apogees and UAs of this ilk are more plug and play and ignore the tech stuff if you want friendly as far as DAW integration goes.

I use this device in conjunction with Logic Pro on a 2021 MBP to record, mix, monitor, and master in stereo and sometimes 5.1, mostly for video soundtracks. It has a clear, clean, open sound that accurately reflects even subtle changes in mix and plugin settings. The accompanying TotalMix software has very powerful routing options, and once it is configured, makes it easy to switch between stereo and 5.1. For those relatively new to recording and mixing, be aware that this is a professional grade tool. For what it can do, it is very simple to operate, but you can expect a learning curve to absorb the concepts behind TotalMix. That doesn't mean not to buy it, it is completely worth taking the time to learn, and RME has outstanding tutorials. For more of a plug-and-play experience in Logic that will also deliver fine sound but with fewer input and routing options, look to Apogee.

This is a great interface! There's a little bit of a learning curve to using it, but once you get that it becomes super easy. Sound is fantastic. Highly recommended.

I use this with Logic Pro on a 2021 MBP for recording, monitoring, mixing, and mastering in both stereo and 5.1, mostly for scoring and soundtracking. It has a clear, open, sound that accurately represents even very subtle changes to mix, EQ, soundstage, or plugin settings. Mic Preamps sound sweet and clean and will let the character of your mic shine through. The build is solid, and the knob and buttons have a nice click to them. It has a dazzling number of inputs and outputs for its size, and TotalMix gives the user super powerful routing options. Once configured, TotalMix makes it easy to jump between stereo and 5.1. My only caveat is that this is a professional tool, and if you are relatively new to this line of work, there will be a learning curve to understand all of the options the interface has and the concepts behind TotalMix. This doesn't mean that you shouldn't buy it, it is 100% worth it to take the time to learn, and RME has excellent tutorials. This interface will honestly represent what you play through it and will give you the power to create the recording you envision.
