The DS-10 fluid head incorporates Miller's multi-step Fluid Drag system ensuring smooth, consistent fluid drag control across all temperature ranges and through a wide range of light and heavy settings.

The DS-10 uses a special designed counterbalanced system, to neutralize the effect of payloads and their centers of gravity.

This device is fitted with a precision, quick release camera platform that incorporates a sliding balance plate for fine tune payload balancing.

Pressure or temperature does not influence the damping system, it has an operating range from -40°F to +149°F, and works without friction.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Hi! I plan to use this tripod with a Sachtler aktiv fluid head, but for that I need to make sure of the compatibility. There is a centered hole in the bowl where the head is mounted and I would like to know it's diameter. Could you please check it for me?

A: Yes. The following unit will adapt to the 75mm bowl drop.

Q: 2. Does this work with Manfrotto 502HD Pro Video Head with 75mm Half-Ball?

A: This tripod will accept a Manfrotto 502HD Pro Video Head with 75mm Half-Ball B&H # MAMVH502A.

Q: 3. Can I ship immediately if I place an order?

A: As of the time of this posting, December 3rd 2018, this product is in stock and ready to ship.

Q: 4. Does the new Manfrotto 2 in 1 spreader fit with these legs? Ikan does not have a telescopic spreader and the ground spreader is too much of a hassle.

A: It does not. The Manfrotto 2 in 1 Tripod Spreader, BH #MAMVASPR2N1, is only compatible with the Manfrotto 645 FTT and 635 FST series tripods.

Q: 5. Can i take out the mid level spreader simply without any tool, is it easily removable? That would come handy if i want to go lower with the tripod

A: Yes, the following spreader can be removed and replaced.

Q: 6. Do the legs come out on their own (gravity) or dos the user have to open them manually (pull legs out)? Also, how good and easy are these twist locks? I prefer the clamp style, I fear these will take to long to adjust.

A: No current tripod should have legs that freely move; not only is it awkward, it can be dangerous to your fingers. This tripod has legs that stay in place and you need to move them. Twist or clamp; that is the external question. In the end it is a matter of personal preference. I find that pros tend to go with the twist. Today's twist locks are very quick, usually 1/2 turn or so and are not significantly slower than clamp locks. I also find that clamp levers get caught on every strap within a 10' radius. Miller is one of the high quality brands so you will find working with any of their products a pleasure.

Q: 7. Does it come with a bag?

A: Sadly it doesnt

Q: 8. It says with 75mm ball but see the ball nowhere in any of the photos of descriptions. Rather it says 75mm bowl. Does this version come with a ball?

A: This product doesn't include a tripod head. You can get the same version with the head.

Q: 9. sachtler ace XL 75mm ball fit on this tripod?

A: Yes, the Sachtler ACE XL Head is 75mm bowl/ball mount which is directly compatible with this Miller 75mm bowl/ball mount legs.

Q: 10. Does this tripod need an export control?

A: Outside of the normal B&H shipping restrictions found in the B&H Help Center at the top of every B&H page, there are no additional restrictions on shipping for this item.

[Yes] Have been a long time Bogen user looking for a good lightweight versatile tripod system. After seeing the DV20 in action at a videographers convention i was sold. Its rock solid even though I was used to a mid-level spreader. My first assignment was shooting a modeling segment and I loved the fact that I could get so low to the ground with this tripod.

[Yes] Meets my needs perfectly. Great value for the price.

[Yes] The DS-10 is light, the head action very smooth, the tripod is quick to set up and tear down. Let the legs out gently, though. One of the coolest things about the DS-10 is how low it goes: there's just enough clearance so the leveling handle isn't on the ground. In that configuration, it looks like a three-legged spider. So you can easily get extremely low shots on a fluid head, and the rubber feet let you stick it in the middle of a long, expensive board room table without leaving a mark. Lack of a spreader makes them hard to sandbag, which is where lightness can cause trouble. We've rented DS-20's as well. Bigger, heavier, not quite as flexible but able to handle larger loads.

[+90° to -75°] This tripod system is excellent. I mainly shoot with a 5dmkII with rails, audio gear, follow focus, etc that totals to at least 20lbs and this tripod handles it all with ease. This is lightyears better than my previous Manfrotto tripods (which were also good...this is just much better). The head is solidly constructed and the fluid head is buttery. It extends as high as I will ever need (camera is well over my head, and I'm 6 foot), and the leg locking system is easy to use, even with a loaded tripod. Suprisingly solid for having no spreaders.

[+90° to -75°] Great tripod. Light. Secure lock. Could not ask for better. Like it better than Sachlers since I hate the spreader. Used big Manfrotto's in the past. No comparison. Own a Gitzo as well, which is close to Miller but still like Miller. Will buy Miller again if I need another one.

[Fluid Head] I bought this a few years back to use with my Panasonic HVX200a. Works like a dream. I do a lot of short form documentary production, and this Miller is perfect. The carbon fiber construction indeed makes the unit very light. I carried it while backpacking around Western Europe for a month, and it was fantastic. Very quick to setup and breakdown. I also like how low to the ground I can get with the concentric leg angle locks. The bag is very high quality as well. All around it is a very rugid product, which is perfect for my documentary productions. Those Australians can sure make a tripod. At this price point, this Miller is your best choice.

[Fluid Head] This thing is a beast. I can't get over how well it's designed. I have Bogen tripods that are twice the weight and seem flimsy. This thing is light and solid as a rock. The head is smooth as silk. I originally ordered this tripod because of it's ability to set low to the ground (so I could use it with my Indislider), but now I am replacing all my Bogen tripods with this beast. Bogen = a piece of junk compared to this rig. Worth every penny, trust me.

[5.775 lb] Im a local filmer from Port Macquarie, Australia and let me say that the DS-10 Aluminum Tripod System is by far the best tripod iv ever experienced with its super smooth pan you cant even screw up on purpose. I give the tripod 100% but I think a simple dolly should be included half price if the tripod exceeds a certain amount maybe? Food for thought. But I Thank you for creating such a prime product!!!

[Fluid Head] The DS-10 fluid head is smooth and solid. I just love using it. And the Miller tripod legs are lightweight and easy to carry. The combination makes this system perfect for a videographer with a lightweight camera who travels a lot. I'm so glad I bought it.

[75 mm Half Ball] I use this tripod with my Canon 60D and camera accessories. The head can comfortably deal with a little weight over 10lbs, but not a ton more. Personally, I like the aluminum legs better than the carbon fiber. In a short time, the tripod has been in mud, rain, and it has worked great. Used the Scarlett on it a week ago and the weight was not an issue. Totally smooth pan and tilt. Great locks. Do yourself a favor and get more than one camera plate. This way you won't have to keep swapping it from one camera to another.
