With the performance of a powerful spotting scope in a space-saving form factor, the Celestron 20x50 Outland X Monocular with Digiscoping Adapteris an ideal optic for fast long-distance glassing at only 6.5 inches long and weighing just under a pound. Celestron includes their basic smartphone adapter that allows you to capture photos and video through the eyepiece on your phone to edit, share, and post quickly and easily.

The large lenses draw in copious amounts of light for use in low-light conditions, such as those at dawn or dusk and when peering into heavy brush or canopies. Complementing these performance features are anti-reflection multicoated optics and a field of view that approaches wide angle to produce an immersive and comfortable observational experience defined by bright, clear high-contrast views with accurate color rendition.

While you can hand-hold the monocular, because of the high power you may experience distracting vibrations. To eliminate this when you're looking through it or using the smartphone digiscoping adapter, the Outland X can be tripod mounted on its integrated 1/4"-20 socket. Its optical tube is nitrogen filled and O-ring sealed to be waterproof and resistant to internal fogging and the chassis is wrapped in a protective slip-resistant armor. For ease of use, the monocular comes with a case that can be worn on your belt or pack strap and a tethered objective cap that won't get lost.

[50 mm] Good quality lens and easy to use with a tripod. Not too happy with the digiscope. Not sturdy for my liking. Had to purchase DX 1.25- Smartphone Digiscoping Kit at an additional cost. This fits the Samsung S20. It is well made, easy to use and definitely holds the camera in place.

[20x] This quality binocular is small enough to fit into a coat pocket or purse. Great for sporting events with the 8X magnification. It doesnt have covers but that is not an issue for me as I kept losing them on previous binoculars.

[2.5 mm] Cool tool! Haven't used it yet but I'm sure it will come in handy to reach the elusive curved outer edge of the lense.

[1.705 lb] I purchased these binoculars for my wife who is new into birding. These are small and lightweight enough to carry easily on our dog walks. I own a larger pair of Celestrons and find them excellent value with good features and warranty. Being waterproof is a must-have feature. Thanks for a fine product.

[2.5 mm] I had bought and returned 2 other roof prism binoculars by other brands that were in the sub $ range. Both of those binoculars had issues where the image would be sharp at the center but blurry around the center. I could get the surroundings in focus but then the center would be out of focus. I'm happy to have paid a bit more for these Celestrons. The image is sharp overall (with exception of the outer edges, but I can accept that). Images are surprisingly clear for a 25mm lens. The focuser works well although it makes a little rubbing-like sound when turning. One minor design flaw is that the focuser knob tends to rest on your nose bone which makes it rub against your nose when focusing. Not a big issue. I can get close focus to just under 15 feet. At close focus I have to set the diopter to + to get both lenses well focused. At long/infinite distances I have to set the diopter to just above 0 to get both lenses well focused. Other reviewers have complained about black spots on images which I have not come across. I now have a nice porro prism by Meade and these roof prisms, without braking the bank. The Meades produce nicer images overall but it's not a fair comparison since the Meades have 50mm lenses. And I'll probably be taking these Celestrons with me on trips more because the roof prism design allows them to be more compact and lighter (in weight) than a porro prism design. These Celestrons come with a neck strap attached to the binoculars, a (soft fabric) carry case and a cloth to clean the lenses. No lens caps included but that's not a big deal. The image sharpness and clarity and the decent build and finish are deserving of 5 stars for the money I spent on these. I guess the nitrogen purging is an added bonus.
