Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is it me going blind, or does it not indicate the maximum height of this tripod?

A: This tripod will reach a range of 15 to 80".

Q: 2. Does it come with a handle?

A: yes, it does

Q: 3. It can support up to 44lbs, but are their any 75mm heads that support more than 20lbs?

A: The Miller 1036 is a 75mm Head with a 26.46 pound load capacity, B&H # MI1036. We also have the Libec RH45D which has a 26.5 lb capacity, B&H # LIRH45D.https://bhpho.to/2yO7Ffjhttps://bhpho.to/2hqIeZt

Q: 4. Do the legs come out on their own (gravity) or dos the user have to open them manually (pull legs out)? Also, how good and easy are these twist locks? I prefer the clamp style, I fear these will take to long to adjust.

A: No current tripod should have legs that freely move; not only is it awkward, it can be dangerous to your fingers. This tripod has legs that stay in place and you need to move them. Twist or clamp; that is the external question. In the end it is a matter of personal preference. I find that pros tend to go with the twist. Today's twist locks are very quick, usually 1/2 turn or so and are not significantly slower than clamp locks. I also find that clamp levers get caught on every strap within a 10' radius. Miller is one of the high quality brands so you will find working with any of their products a pleasure.

Q: 5. If not using full height, would it extend the thicker sections first before the thinner ones?

A: Yes, that will be possible if not using it at full height.

Q: 6. Does it come with a bag?

A: Sadly it doesnt

Q: 7. Do the legs slide out on their own or do you have to pull them out?

A: How many turns does it take to go from tight to loose enough for leg slide? Thanx!

Q: 8. would these legs work with Miller ds20 tripod head? both 75mm

A: Yes they definitely will. That is the setup I use.

Q: 9. Will this tripod work with a sachtler fsb 6 fluid head?

A: Any video head with a 75mm ball base with fit this tripod with it's 75mm bowl. You are good to go.

Q: 10. What warranty is offered with this tripod?

A: This tripod has a Limited 1-Year Manufacturer's Warranty that is extendable to 2-Years once you register the product with Sachtler.

[Yes] This tripod system is excellent. I mainly shoot with a 5dmkII with rails, audio gear, follow focus, etc that totals to at least 20lbs and this tripod handles it all with ease. This is lightyears better than my previous Manfrotto tripods (which were also good...this is just much better). The head is solidly constructed and the fluid head is buttery. It extends as high as I will ever need (camera is well over my head, and I'm 6 foot), and the leg locking system is easy to use, even with a loaded tripod. Suprisingly solid for having no spreaders.

[5.8 lb] There are many reviews on this tripod, but bottom line: it is excellent! It's reasonably priced and can accommodate a pretty heavy rig. I'm impressed. I love the next to nothing weight as well!

[Fluid Head] Meets my needs perfectly. Great value for the price.

[Fluid Head] This thing is a beast. I can't get over how well it's designed. I have Bogen tripods that are twice the weight and seem flimsy. This thing is light and solid as a rock. The head is smooth as silk. I originally ordered this tripod because of it's ability to set low to the ground (so I could use it with my Indislider), but now I am replacing all my Bogen tripods with this beast. Bogen = a piece of junk compared to this rig. Worth every penny, trust me.

[Fluid Head] I use this tripod with my Canon 60D and camera accessories. The head can comfortably deal with a little weight over 10lbs, but not a ton more. Personally, I like the aluminum legs better than the carbon fiber. In a short time, the tripod has been in mud, rain, and it has worked great. Used the Scarlett on it a week ago and the weight was not an issue. Totally smooth pan and tilt. Great locks. Do yourself a favor and get more than one camera plate. This way you won't have to keep swapping it from one camera to another.

[Yes] I use this for documentary filmmaking. The head is completely smooth and well built. The legs are very stable and easy to use.

[Yes] The DS-10 is light, the head action very smooth, the tripod is quick to set up and tear down. Let the legs out gently, though. One of the coolest things about the DS-10 is how low it goes: there's just enough clearance so the leveling handle isn't on the ground. In that configuration, it looks like a three-legged spider. So you can easily get extremely low shots on a fluid head, and the rubber feet let you stick it in the middle of a long, expensive board room table without leaving a mark. Lack of a spreader makes them hard to sandbag, which is where lightness can cause trouble. We've rented DS-20's as well. Bigger, heavier, not quite as flexible but able to handle larger loads.

[Yes] I bought this a few years back to use with my Panasonic HVX200a. Works like a dream. I do a lot of short form documentary production, and this Miller is perfect. The carbon fiber construction indeed makes the unit very light. I carried it while backpacking around Western Europe for a month, and it was fantastic. Very quick to setup and breakdown. I also like how low to the ground I can get with the concentric leg angle locks. The bag is very high quality as well. All around it is a very rugid product, which is perfect for my documentary productions. Those Australians can sure make a tripod. At this price point, this Miller is your best choice.
