The Miller CX6 SOLO-Q 75 Carbon Fiber 3-Stage Tripodis designed to accommodate a wide payload range with 16 steps of counterbalance. Pan, tilt, and counterbalance can all be set to zero, enabling even the lightest of cameras to be supported. Maxed out, this head is rated to support camera setups up to 26.4 pounds, suitable for small cinema cameras with rigs or medium sized ENG camcorders. Securing your camera or rig is easy. The sideload plate design enables you to simply drop in your camera without the alignment issues posed by rear-loading variations. The plate offers 2.4" of sliding range to balance your rig.

To survive fast-paced shooting environments, the CX6 is die-cast from a lightweight, yet durable metal alloy with composite polymers and precision ball-bearings for smooth mechanical operation. Even in harsh conditions, the CX6 will perform reliably. The base of the CX6 is a 75 ball for mounting to compatible tripods and grip equipment. An illuminated bubble level makes it easy to level the CX6 in dark environments. A pan handle with a 15.4" fixed length is included and a second rosette is incorporated for attaching an optional second pan handle.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does anyone have any experience using this head with lighter cameras like a GH5 or Blackmagic Pocket Cam? How does the counterblance work at the lower end of it's settings?

A: With 16 selectable counter balance positions ( including 0 ) as well as 4 drag settings ( including 0 ) , running light weight cameras such as the GH5 or Pocket Cinema Camera do well.

Q: 2. Will the Manfrotto 504HD head fit on this tripod? https://a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/683559-REG/Manfrotto_504HD_504HD_Fluid_Video_Head.html target= _blank www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/683559-REG/Manfrotto_504HD_504HD_Fluid_Video_Head.html/aDo I need any adapters?

A: It should fit, I used it with Manfrotto 502 and 516 fluid head. This is one of the best designed tripods I've ever used. One lever controls both leg extensions at the same time. Very quick setup.

Q: 3. How does this tripod hold up after long terme use? I've read the rubber feet fall off easily after a while. How about the locks, do they stay secure over time?

A: This is a good entry level tripod and will work as expected. If you have a long term project with anticipated hard use, you may wish to invest in a tripod meant for such use.

Q: 4. Is it me going blind, or does it not indicate the maximum height of this tripod?

A: This tripod will reach a range of 15 to 80".

Q: 5. Is this a 26 or 30-lb load capacity? because the description says 30 lb, but the specs say 26. Thanks!

A: The load capacity is 0-30.9 lbs / 0-14.0 kg.

Q: 6. Does a standard manfrotto plate fit in this head?

A: We're afraid not. This tripod has its own quick release plate system, it is not compatible with Manfrotto plates.

Q: 7. Can i take out the mid level spreader simply without any tool, is it easily removable? That would come handy if i want to go lower with the tripod

A: Yes, the following spreader can be removed and replaced.

Q: 8. Hi! I plan to use this tripod with a Sachtler aktiv fluid head, but for that I need to make sure of the compatibility. There is a centered hole in the bowl where the head is mounted and I would like to know it's diameter. Could you please check it for me?

A: Yes. The following unit will adapt to the 75mm bowl drop.

Q: 9. Is the 75mm bowl proprietary to Miller tripods? Will this head fit any brand of tripod with a 75mm bowl? For example, experience taught me Sachtler bowls are proprietary to the tripods.

A: Yes.

Q: 10. Are the levels of drag adequate, or do you find yourself constantly wishing for more drag?

A: Those of us at B&H who have used it, like the overall feel of this head and its operation with a variety of cameras. We have had no complaints regarding any lack of drag.

[Yes] Have been a long time Bogen user looking for a good lightweight versatile tripod system. After seeing the DV20 in action at a videographers convention i was sold. Its rock solid even though I was used to a mid-level spreader. My first assignment was shooting a modeling segment and I loved the fact that I could get so low to the ground with this tripod.

[Yes] The DS-10 is light, the head action very smooth, the tripod is quick to set up and tear down. Let the legs out gently, though. One of the coolest things about the DS-10 is how low it goes: there's just enough clearance so the leveling handle isn't on the ground. In that configuration, it looks like a three-legged spider. So you can easily get extremely low shots on a fluid head, and the rubber feet let you stick it in the middle of a long, expensive board room table without leaving a mark. Lack of a spreader makes them hard to sandbag, which is where lightness can cause trouble. We've rented DS-20's as well. Bigger, heavier, not quite as flexible but able to handle larger loads.

[Fluid Head] There are many reviews on this tripod, but bottom line: it is excellent! It's reasonably priced and can accommodate a pretty heavy rig. I'm impressed. I love the next to nothing weight as well!

[Yes] I bought this a few years back to use with my Panasonic HVX200a. Works like a dream. I do a lot of short form documentary production, and this Miller is perfect. The carbon fiber construction indeed makes the unit very light. I carried it while backpacking around Western Europe for a month, and it was fantastic. Very quick to setup and breakdown. I also like how low to the ground I can get with the concentric leg angle locks. The bag is very high quality as well. All around it is a very rugid product, which is perfect for my documentary productions. Those Australians can sure make a tripod. At this price point, this Miller is your best choice.

[Yes] Great tripod. Light. Secure lock. Could not ask for better. Like it better than Sachlers since I hate the spreader. Used big Manfrotto's in the past. No comparison. Own a Gitzo as well, which is close to Miller but still like Miller. Will buy Miller again if I need another one.

[+90° to -75°] I use this tripod with my Canon 60D and camera accessories. The head can comfortably deal with a little weight over 10lbs, but not a ton more. Personally, I like the aluminum legs better than the carbon fiber. In a short time, the tripod has been in mud, rain, and it has worked great. Used the Scarlett on it a week ago and the weight was not an issue. Totally smooth pan and tilt. Great locks. Do yourself a favor and get more than one camera plate. This way you won't have to keep swapping it from one camera to another.
