Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this compatible with Gitzo GT3543XLS Systematic Series 3 Carbon Fiber Tripod ?

A: Yes. The tripod uses a 3/8-16 threaded stud. The RRS BH-55 uses a 3/8-16 threaded insert. They work great together.

Q: 2. Does this truly pan 360 degrees or is panning achieved only by movement of the ball?

A: The BH-25 will pan by the movement of the ball head. The BH-30 will have a seperate panning lever. See: https://bhpho.to/2yDP42r.

Q: 3. Has anyone had any experience with the FB-52 ballhead?

A: The majority of Sunwayfoto ball-heads sold by B&H have 4 to 5* reviews. Most of their other products have the same ratings. We feel that you will be satisfied with your purchase of this head.

Q: 4. How is this screw know compared to the lever clamp?

A: The screw and the lever are personal preferences, beyond that some users like the lever when they are shooting in cold weather and wearing gloves. The lever is much easier to use with gloves and is also quicker.

Q: 5. Will this ballhead hold nikon d800 plus 80-400 mm lens?

A: The combined weight of the Nikon D800 DSLR camera and the Nikon is 5.43 lbs. As such, the would work to support your camera/lens setup. While it is personal preference, as a safety precaution, I typically like recommending tripod heads with a maximum load capacity that is 3x higher than the combined camera/lens setup weight. As such, my personal recommendation would usually be for the Really Right Stuff BH-40 Ball Head with B2-mAS Mini Clamp, B&H # REBH40PRO, or if you needed a head with a smaller base diameter, the Really Right Stuff BH-30 Ball Head with Mini Screw-Knob Clamp, B&H # REBH30PRO, is a good option, but yes, the Really Right Stuff BH-25 Ball Head would work for your usage needs.

Q: 6. What is the base diameter?

A: The base diameter of the Photo Clam Pro Mini 30NS with Screw Knob Clamp is 4.2 cm.

Q: 7. Can the release plate be replaced with the Manfrotto RC-4 plate?

A: No it won't work, I just tried it on mine. The RC-4 plate is too wide for the RRS clamp and it has a profile that doesn't match up with the Arca Swiss style of the BH-55 Screw Clamp. I still use my Manfrotto systems, but prefer the RRS for heavier gear like a full size camera with battery grip and a big lens.

Q: 8. Can you buy the screw know clamp separately? If so what is the product name/number?

A: The Screw-Knob Clamp is available for sale separately: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1301182-REG/really_right_stuff_b2_mas_screw_knob_style_quick_release_clamp.html

Q: 9. Comparing this ball head to the smaller FB-44III ball head (BH #SUFB44III) shows this has a lower load capacity (44 lb vs 66 lb). Is this correct? Shouldn't this larger version have the greater load capacity?

A: While it may seem the FB-52 should have a larger maximum load capacity, according to Sunwayfoto's website, the Sunwayfoto FB-52 Ball Head has a maximum load capacity of 20 kg, which is 44.1 lbs. The Sunwayfoto FB-44III Ball Head has a maximum load capacity of 30 kg, which would be 66.1 lbs. If you need more assistance, you may contact Sunwayfoto directly by e-mailing them at service@sunwayfoto.com.

Q: 10. Will this work with the peak design pro plate?

A: Yes, it will.

[0.03 lb] Ultralight makes the highest quality arms I've ever used, and this t-knob clamp is no exception. The red finish is super high quality, this will last for years.

[0.03 lb] I like the weight savings from the original Ikelite clamps. And the choice of colors for the T-knob makes my rig distinctive among the other rigs on the dive boat.

[28] The ULCS triple ball clamp with cut-outs on both sides is ideal when you want to mount a light and GoPro to a hot shoe, or a Go-Pro or light to the joint between two arms. Having the notches gives you extra flexibility in the angles the arms can reach. In my case, it helped tremendously when using a GoPro with a very wide angle lens, and a focus/video light. I was easily able to move the focus light out of the field of view of the camera. The standard non-cutout triple clamp doesn't work nearly as well for this purpose. The clamps don't seem to have lost any clamping strength by adding the cutouts. Highly recommended!

[0.03 lb] Great for use on camera, a lot more adjustable than the ones without cutouts with only slightly compromised grip because of the smaller surface contacting the ball.

[0.03 lb] Not as versatile as the double cutout but having only one half cutout makes the connection stronger while still allowing the ability to mount in more directions. Also a vibrant touch of red for A cam folks.

[0.03 lb] I have black clamps, black arms, black floats, a black housing, black port....you get the idea. Having red colored T-knobs for the clamps makes it easier to grab and adjust the knobs, without having to look to see which side of the arms the knob is on, or to even have to think about it. They are an exact perfect fit and replacement for the OEM ULCS T-knobs. Love them!

[0.03 lb] Using it to mount a PTZ camera at a strange angle on a desk. Works perfectly. Holds firm. Made very well. Great price.

[28] If you are in need of a small lite weight ball head that can support a full size DSLR with a medium sized lens on those remote hikes or excursions where size/weight is the major consideration, look no further than this mighty mouse.

[0.03 lb] I love these ultralight bits. Always reliable and work well. I am not a fan of the wooden camera versions as the screw in base just never locks in enough. This tie down does the trick and you can really crank it to lock it in!
