The Tiffen 62mm Enhancing Camera Filteris a combination of rare earth elements in glass. It removes a portion of the spectrum in the orange region, increasing the color saturation of reddish objects by eliminating the muddy tones and maximizing the red hues with minimal effect on other colors.

We all love Autumn. When the leaves begin to change color, we're all left breathless by their eternal beauty. Capturing those stunning colors on film or digital becomes a priority for any avid photographer. The Enhancing filter is a most valuable tool when it comes to this kind of nature photography. An Enhancer increases the saturation of the red/orange end of the spectrum and makes earth tones thoroughly saturated and vibrant. Colors appear to "pop".

You will find that the Enhancing filter works best in early morning or later afternoon photography - when the light is intense rather than the semi-washed out illumination of mid-day. This filter is also optimized for use during the overcast days of Autumn. Try it on an old barn or wooden bridge.

Tiffen makes the Enhancing filter in many sizes to accommodate the many uses this filter has. This filter can be used by the pro and amateur alike, weekend photo warrior or pro cinematographer and must be considered an essential addition to any photo arsenal.

Tiffen, a leader in the filter industry, proudly makes its filters in the USA and backs up its products with a solid 10-year warranty.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I use this filter along with a polarizer filter?

A: Yes, this filter will work with a polarizing filter. The Enhancing filter is designed for use when shooting scenes with warm tones and works best for that type of image.

Q: 2. Can this filter be used with a circular polarizer? In particular on my Canon 7DmkII with a Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L lens.

A: As the Tiffen 82mm Enhancing Filter has 82mm front filter threads, yes, you may attach an 82mm circular polarizer filter onto the front of the Tiffen 82mm Enhancing Filter to use the two items simultaneously.

Q: 3. Will the threads on this fit Tamron Auto Focus 200-500mm f/5.0-6.3 Di LD SP?

A: The designation on the lens will be 86C for coarse. Coarse threads have a 1.0 thread pitch. You may want to contact Tamron directly for the lens filter thread specifications.

Q: 4. wide angle?

A: This is a standard 77mm Circular Polarizing filter. The Tiffen Wide Angle CP (with low profile rings to help prevent vignetting) is item # 77WIDCP: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/163451-REG/Tiffen_77WIDCP_77mm_Circular_Polarizing_Wide.html?sts=pi

Q: 5. Will this work on my Canon PowerShot SX530 HS camera with a filter adapter?

Q: 6. WILL THIS FILTER FIT ON A CANON EOS 7D?

A: This filter is 72mm thread , if your lens takes 72mm it will

Q: 7. do these polarizing filters cut down on the amount of light coming in the lens?

A: Yes, typically all polarizers cut out from 1-2 stops of light depending on where you have the filter set to.

Q: 8. I have a nikon 28-70mm lens but my question is whether this type of filter can be used on my lens? please reply

A: Hello. I am a canon user so I am not positive but yes I believe the Nikon lens you mentioned is 77mm and will be able to use this filter. If you look at the lens (usually the face near the front end) you will see a number like 67mm, 77mm etc ... if the lens reads 77mm you will be able to screw this filter on.

Q: 9. Question, I have a Sanyo VPC-E2100 and i'm considering getting a polarizer or UV filter, what would be a good size for it since it's 25mm wide or 4.594.5mm?

A: I use a UV filter as a general practice filtering and protection of my lens Canon 24-105 77 mm which is a very expensive lens. Then I use a 77mm Tiffen circular on top of it which works well for bright reflections or water photography.Hope this helps.Bob D

Q: 10. One of the reviews stated that it does not cover the whole image . Just curious if anyone else noted vignetting with FX formats. I would use it with a 24-70 mm Nikon lens (sometimes I stack with a UV filter if I can't remove that quickly) - don't know if they were doing this or not).

A: The vignetting is caused by you have turned too much, you should turn back a little bit to allow both top corners to reduce the vignetting

[0.22 lb] I'm a huge fan of using various filters to achieve the photos I want. I'd much rather nail the photo during the photography process than to have to manipulate it after the fact on the computer. The enhancing filer is a must have to achieve those rich earthy colors and nail the photo your eyes really see. No washed out earth tones.

[62 mm] Great filter. Really enhances any red and brown tones. I use it to bring out the red tones in rocky Australian landscapes when shooting film. Leaves other colours (blues, greens) alone, unlike the warming filters which alter the whole scene. This makes it perfect for landscapes, as well as sunsets and sunrises that are more towards pink/red.
Good threading- never had any issues getting it on and off the lens.

[62 mm] I got this lens in the Tiffen 55mm Digital Enhancing Filter Kit and love it. it brings out fall colors even when the eye can't see them and makes those you can see much more robust. I intend to buy this for each of my lenses. The Camp Road picture I have added was taken last Fall (2021) and to be honest the colors last year were not very good, this filter make the picture turn out much better than it would have without it pulling color from where there was little.
