The 10x42 Tactical Binoculars from Steiner combine fully multicoated optics with a rubber armored fogproof housing to produce the image quality and handling characteristics required by tactical professionals. The 10x42 lens system uses Steiner's High-Definition lens elements and phase-corrected prisms to transmit bright images with enhanced color fidelity and contrast. This German-made handheld optic is backed by Steiner's ten-year warranty.

This configuration from the Tactical series has a 60° apparent viewing angle and can focus to within seven feet, making this optic well-suited for tactical use as well as birding, hunting, and almost any close to mid-range glassing activity. A nitrogen-filled fogproof housing provides this set of binoculars with the build quality needed to endure unforgiving weather conditions. Steiner's Two-Way Valve system enables air to be more effectively drawn from the optical housing and replaced with inert, non-condensing nitrogen. Non-slip rubber armoring, twist-up rubber eyecups, and a comfortable 17mm eye relief equip the 10x42 Tactical binoculars with the features needed for reliable and comfortable outdoor viewing.

[Roof] Excellent binocular. Clear view no distortion of viewed object. A little heavy for back backing any distance, but worth the extra weight for short trips. If you spend anytime on the water, make sure you purchase the floating carry strap.

[4.2 mm] I would say 95% of the people who would buy this product in this price range would be satisfied with it. Image quality is exceptional, it was exactly what I was expecting from this type of binocular.

[42 mm] Bought these at a great price from B&H and based on previous reviews. The quality does not disappoint, especially at this price point. Image brightness and clarity are excellent. Easy to use, just set the eyepieces for your vision and good to go. Was vacillating between 7X and 10X; very happy with the 7X.

[6° (Actual)] Great binoculars. I use these while hiking. Very sharp and seem extremely rugged. The only thing I don't care for are the rubber objective caps. They don't stay capped. Fortunately, the caps are attached to the binoculars so at least they don't get lost. No biggy, I bought two pair anyway.

[42 mm] We bought the 7 x 50 mostly for use on our boat for whale watching. In the one outing we had since purchase I found them to be amazing. Excited to use them again this week.

[6° (Actual)] I purchased a pair of Steiner 8X30 military/marine binoculars in 1997 and they have performed amazingly well over the years. My younger son 'borrowed' them and they were left out outside under the snow during a Minnesota winter and were no worse for the experience. After 24 years I decided to 'upgrade' to the 7x50 military/marine binoculars. They are a bit heavier but the brightness of the image and the sharpness are AMAZING! Even after only two weeks of use, I'm glad I finally made the decision to purchase the new binoculars. For sports use, the INSTAFOCUS is really great!!!

[6° (Actual)] Very nice, extremely bright, good colour and tack sharp. A mite on the heavy side but that helps while holding and keeps things steady. I am of an age that using 10x50s are a tad shaky. The 7x50 sre, as Goldilocks said, just right...

[4.2 mm] These optics are promoted as marine use, but I purchased for astronomical viewing and they are amazing. Extreme lumninosity and very wide angle make them perfect for star viewing. The side wing blinders are an added bonus to block stray light. Don't forget legendary Steiner razor sharpness across the entire wide field.
