This Teradek Prism 853 4K HEVC/AVC 12G-SDI Encoder Cardfrom Teradek Prism 853 4K HEVC/AVC 12G-SDI Encoder Cardis a rackmount chassis card designed for use in the 1 RU or 2 RU Prism Rackmount Base System. The encoder card features one 12G-SDI input that supports 10-bit 4:2:2 video up to 4K60, encodes RTMP/RTMPS, MPEG-TS, and SRT streams using MPEG-4, AVC, H.265, and HEVC high-resolution compression, and it supports two channels of embedded audio with AAC-LC compression.

The card also features a built-in video scaler and deinterlacer to support a wide variety of resolutions, genlock signaling from the chassis, and it features 3.5mm audio line input and output jacks. The video is transmitted to optional Prism, Cube, Slice, Core, and T-Rax decoder cards in the Prism Rackmount Base System.

[Device: 15 W] We've been using this to provide a direct feed to monitor from our RED Komodo when mounted to our vehicle rig and so far it's working exactly as it should. Have yet to try in Canadian cold winters but time will tell how it holds up in minus temperatures. Another positive is the flexibility of the cable itself in that it's not too rigid interfering with the gimbal motors. 5
