The Olympus OM Lens to FUJIFILM X-Mount Camera Speed Booster ULTRA (Version 3) from Metabones improves upon the original Metabones Speed Booster with a 5 element/4 group optical design that incorporates ultra-high refractive index tantalum-based glass for improved sharpness and reduced distortion and vignetting. The Speed Booster ULTRA allows a full frame Olympus OM lens to be mounted to an APS-C format X-Mount camera and in doing so, increases the angle of view and increases the maximum aperture by approximately one f/stop. 

When a lens intended for full frame sensors or 35mm film is mounted to a camera with an APS-C sized sensor, it transmits a larger area of light than the smaller sensor was built to accept and therefore the effective angle of view of the lens increases. The Speed Booster condenses light from the lens and projects it onto the APS-C sensor allowing the sensor to utilize all of the lens' light and effectively reduces the crop factor of and APS-C E-Mount camera from 1.5x to 1.07x, producing a full-frame angle of view with an APS-C sensor. A corresponding increase in the maximum aperture of one f/stop makes the lens more effective in low-light situations and able to create a shallow depth of field.

Q: 1. I bought this adapter to try using The Nikkor PC lens 24mm and the PC 19mm on my Fuji xt2. Although it mounts and shoots, I cant change the aperture even though the 24 has an aperture ring. It works flawlessly with a 50mm f1.8 prime though. The pc lenses are not on the metabones list of lenses that dont work. Any suggestions?

A: Make sure that the camera menu says shoot without lens. That is the main reason folks have problems with these lens adapters on Fuji cameras. Once you are up and running, both the aperture and the f/stop are manual. I do not know about the manual aperture not working on the 24mm, I cannot see why it would not. However, I would say that in any event, the aperture on the adapter would be the way to go.

A: No, it would not. We have no lens adapters, neither standard or Speed Booster design, that are designed to retain autofocus communication between Nikon F-mount lenses and the Fujifilm X-mount. There are no electronic contacts on the Metabones lens adapter for electronic communication between the camera and the lens. Although the lens will fit physically, automatic diaphragm (AE metering), or other auto functions are not retained using this speed booster.

Q: 4. does this work with Nikon ais lens, such as 105mm f2.5, micro 55mm f2.8..etc..?

A: This adapter does a terrific job doing just about everything possible for being an adapter. It will take your Nikkor lenses and attach them to your Fujifilm X-Mount camera. It will squeeze the image so it better fits the Fujifilm camera's APS-C format. In doing so, it also makes the lens brighter or faster. This lets you shoot in lower light. Now, a couple of things it does not do. It cannot transmit electronic communication between the camera and lens. That means you must manually focus and manually set the aperture on the adapter to get your proper exposure. Other than that stipulation, which you may enjoy actually, you are good to go.

Q: 5. does this converter work with zoom lenses (i.e. nikon VRII 70-200 f2.8) or only prime lenses?

A: It works fine with zooms as well as primes. There are a couple of lenses that physically do not fit, but the 70-200 should be fine (and making it effectively an f2 lens). Be aware though that it will be a manual focus lens at that point. No AF.

Q: 6. Hi, does this speedboster allow IBIS to work with mechanical lenses? I use old vintage lenses adapted to EF. Also, does the Autofocus work with Canon and Sigma EF lenses?

A: If using this adapter with a Fuji X body like the X-T4, which has built in stabilization, you can still utilize that feature with adapted EF lenses.
