A: I don't think that would work since this is basically a flash cold shoe, just in a wider version with room for more equipment like lights, microphones, wireless receivers etc. Your picatinny scope will not fit without modifying, in addition this is made of plastic and is primarily ment to support only very light equipment and not more heavy scopes.

A: Unfortunately, I just received my adapter with very high hopes. I used a Profoto 2400ws pack (Very Powerful) and at full power. I didn't get near the results that you get from a cheap speedlight. The speedlight is able to get right up against the slide. The adapter leaves the too much space from the strobe head and the output is extremely diminished. I recommend to skip the adaptor and just stick with the basic flash.
