Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What kind of AC adapter does this use? The AC adapter that charges the remote can work on the slider itself but it seems to be a very unique cable.

A: The AC power adapter is a standard, universal (120-240VAC), adapter with a sleeve connector. It is a type used on thousands of electrical devices. If you are outside the USA, just get a plug adapter to tie into the local electrical grid.

Q: 2. Can I use it upside-down?

A: The GVM Wireless Carbon Fiber Motorized Camera Slider is not designed to be used in an inverted position. A possibly solution for inverted slides could be - https://bhpho.to/3e8QElS

Q: 3. Is the pan motorized or just the slider?

A: The slider is the only motorized part on the GVM Wireless Carbon Fiber Motorized Camera Slider.

Q: 4. Can the pan be controlled as well for tracking subjects?

A: No, you will need to use a pan head.

Q: 5. I watched a YouTube review that stated it won’t work with Sony cameras. Will it work with a Sony A7iii?

A: you can mount any camera on it but it will not trigger or control Sony cameras, As long as you do not need to trigger or control the camera it will be ok

Q: 6. Can this slider be setup in a way that it keeps moving during timelapse shooting? I would like to get motion blurring by shooting with long exposure times and camera movement during the exposure of each frame.

A: This GVM slider and most any slider during time lapse will stop for each captured frame. You would use Editing applications to create the Blur in post.

Q: 7. Can this be used manually, sliding by hand while tilting and panning the camera mounted in a fluid head?

A: Yes, you can move the camera manually across the slider, but it is not built for that and we can't recommend it, as the gears might prevent you from getting a smooth shot. For manual use, we'd recommend getting a non-motorized slider such as the Axler 30" Lightweight Carbon Fiber Camera Slider (BH #AXCSCF30LW • MFR #CS-CF-30LW).

Q: 8. is this slider quiet enough for interviews?

A: That depends on your set up, the space that you are in, and your tolerance for noise. This Slider is relatively quiet yet some customers say that it is too loud for interviews. Others have attained excellent audio quality using much louder slider set ups. Here are a few tips for collecting good interview audio regardless of how loud/quiet your slider is. 1. Make sure there is some distance between the slider and your subject. The close the slider is to your subject the more likely you are to pick up the sound of the slider. 2. Make sure your microphones are closer to your subject than they are to the slider. It is generally a bad idea to mount a microphone on your camera if that camera is on a slider. this is because the slider motor will be much closer to your microphone than your subject and therefore the slider motor will be fairly loud regardless of how "silent" the motor is. It is also generally a good idea to get the microphone as close to your talent as possible whether you have a slider involved or not. 3. collect room tone with the slider on. tip 1 and 2 should limit or eliminate any slider noise from your audio but in case there isn't enough room to get sufficient distance between your subject and microphone from the slider capture some audio of the room in silence while the slider motor is running. this will help you create a noise print to eliminate the slider noise in post production.

Q: 9. Can this be hung upside down?

A: The GVM GT-120WD Wireless Bluetooth Carbon Fiber Motorized Camera Slider is not designed to be operated in upside-down mode.

Q: 10. Can I buy a wired controller for this? The wireless app always disconnects on me

A: No, the GVM Wireless Carbon Fiber Motorized Camera Slider (31") is not compatible with wired remotes.

[Aluminum] An excelent tool for HDSLR cinematography, Very smooth and very affordable, works great with a tripod head, and also works as a little JIB crane...

[3/8"-16 Male] So far this slider has been great. B&H had it here in one day and I'm very satisfied. My only concern: I can't seem to find a power supply offered for it. Can anyone help

[Carbon Fiber] I use this product with the Syrp Genie. After looking at the magic carpet reviews I was afraid that weight would be an issue. I have had a Benro tripod for the last 5 years and its rock solid. This slider lives up to the Benro name. I use this with my Canon 5D Mark III (16-35) and have no complaints. The bag that it comes in is a bit overkill and can all fit a full size tripod with head.

[Aluminum] Great quality, precision engineered. I also bought the magic motor with it, works great either manual or using the motor. I have a sony a7s II, canon lens and a monition mounted to the slider plate.

[Carbon Fiber] This slider is exactly what I was looking for. I do a mixture of real estate video, vlogging, and outdoor time lapses. This works perfectly for all of it, lightweight and sturdy. Make sure you have solid stands for each threaded stud on the ends, it works better supported that way, rather than from the center.

[3/8"-16 Male] I had tried another brand with a friction slider that had "good" reviews. It was horrible; video was very choppy because it kept getting caught up and it wasn't smooth at all. My camera is just a Canon T5i, so it's not heavy. The Benro slider was a world apart and is very smooth. Having rollers made the difference, but combining this with a Benro tripod with the S7 head means that I can quickly go from slider, to tripod, to handheld. For a beginner who is just starting to get into creating videos, you'll love how well this performs and the light weight makes it easy to carry.

[4.89 lb] I wasn't ready to commit to a more expensive slider system - since I don't know if it will be something I use often. This was a great cost to value option. Very smooth simple slider solution at its price point. Slider ships ready to go - no assembly required. Also like that it comes with a travel bag. I've used it a few times now and have enjoyed it. Getting smooth even shots takes a little finesse - same could probably be said for any non-mechanical slider - but ultimately I get more professional looking shots with this than I would free handing with a gimbal.
