This crossgrade version of Vienna Symphonic Library SYNCHRON-ized Solo Strings Crossgradeis for owners of VI Solo Strings I Bundle who want to access SYNCHRON-ized VI Solo Strings sounds mapped for the included Vienna Synchron Player.

Accurately capturing the sound and expressiveness of two solo violins, a solo viola, two solo cellos, and a solo double bass playing at Synchron Stage Vienna. The library is based on the Collections VI Solo Strings I, Solo Violin 2, and Solo Cello 2, which were updated, reedited, and mapped to improve playability with the included Synchron Player and deliver realistic string performances right out of the box, for film and game scoring, trailer music, or sound design.

The Synchron Player's time-stretch feature allows you to change the speed of vibratos, tremolos, trills, portamentos, and glissandos in real time using a MIDI controller. You can even speed up or slow down scale runs while they're playing back or automatically sync them to the host tempo.

Utilizing the Synchron Player's Release Sample technology, along with the wide variety of optimized-release sounds greatly increases the articulations' range of use. Short notes ring out authentically depending on the body resonance and the note's volume. Long and medium-length notes (détaché, portato, crescendos, and diminuendos) can be played shorter than their recorded length, while still being heard with authentic release sounds.

Repetition performances including articulations ranging from legato and portato variations to staccato and spiccato are also enhanced by the Release Sample technology and by proprietary repetition and Interval Logic technology. The Multi Shorts patches automatically provide you with notes that sound natural in medium and fast passages, depending on the note you played before (the same note or an interval) and on how long a note is played.

The Dynamic Layer patch offers up to nine velocity layers of each articulated note, so you can play passages with extremely nuanced dynamics—accessing the individual velocity layers of each articulation with the mod wheel or key velocity.

Meticulously balanced volume levels of the entire sample database allow for seamless note transitions when moving from one playing technique to the next. Velocity crossfading is optimized for extrasmooth volume changes.

Many articulations are available as looped notes such as sustains (with and without vibrato), trills, tremolos, and more. Unlooped legatos are also available to access the natural musicality of each beautifully articulated target note as performed by the musician.

Making use of the Synchron Player's straightforward preset and patch structure, the wide variety of articulations and playing techniques is clearly laid out and quickly accessible, making the instruments a breeze to play on the keyboard.

[Crossgrade] One of the great things about MOTU Symphonic Instruments is that it runs on G4 processor, and even on 256MB of RAM. Consequently, on the even the cheapest of the modern laptops (just like my 2MB Mac Air Intel i5) it works smoothly and loads all the instruments instantly. To me it's the best thing ever to run software release in 2006 on a 2012 computer, because it just runs great. And the sounds are simply breathtaking. Even the concert piano is mind blowing, really lending itself for classical piano playing in real time from my digital piano keyboard. And the price could not be better with B&H special discount offers. I took advantage of the discount, and I am a very happy camper now. Oh, and the authorization process with iLok is very good. I installed MOTU Symphonic Instruments on two computers, and to run it, I simply insert the iLok USB dongle, and voila. It's simply great.

[Crossgrade] Lots of articulations that play well together. I also find the synchron player easier/faster to use than Vienna's older Vienna Instrument player or Kontakt based sample sets.

[Yes] Lots of articulations that play well together. I also find the synchron player easier/faster to use than Vienna's older Vienna Instrument player or Kontakt based sample sets. Note that Elite sits somewhere between Chamber and Pro/I orchestra in terms of number of strings. I find that the number of strings in the Pro/I orchestra is enough that you lose some of that sense of 'bow on string'. With Elite you still hear some of that 'bow on the string'. Layering Elite on Pro is also really useful.

[65.5 GB] The sounds in this plugin are great! not OMG AMAZING! but for only $, it beats anything else ive used in this price range. Some of the sounds are a bit lacking, but most sound great and have many uses in pieces. overall a great buy!

[Crossgrade] a great closely MICed string ensemble. great for small orchestra work. Definetly a learning curve to figure things out, but rewards when you do.

[Download] This is my seventh virtual piano. See my review of the Bösendorfer also by VSL — this is just as supremely recorded and I prefer the Steinway sound. It's hard to see how anyone will ever do any better than this. There are 10 different microphone positions (plus the room mix which incorporates several of them in the standard library; I think the full library gives added richness). I use eight of them (not the Main or the main-C) and the plate reverb at 30% which I like better than the algorithmic reverb or the delay. If you can't afford the full, the standard will still be superior to anything else out there.

[Crossgrade] It's not a big sample library but the bell tones are excellent! I could not find a comparable library for this type of bell sound from the other big name sample library companies, so this fills a niche missed by others.

[Yes] Best piano library I've experienced. Vibrant sound, customization and dynamics are all there. If you are into CFX or trying to add it to your arsenal, do not hesitate.

[Crossgrade] The Synchron interface is SO much easier to use (than the former Vienna Symphonic Instruments plugin). Sound quality and playability are impeccable.
