Built for strength and portability, the yellow Pelican 1605AirNF Hard Carry Case Yellow No Insertis designed to be dustproof, fully watertight, and crushproof to protect your valuable gear against the harshest handling, shipping, and environmental conditions on the planet. This edition of the 1605Air comes lined, but without foam or other inserts, allowing you the freedom to completely customize the 26 x 14 x 8.4" interior to your specific needs and to your specific gear.

Your case is made of a super-light proprietary HPX2 polymer, with honeycomb structural elements, which is up to 40% lighter than most other Pelican polymers. Five newly designed dual push-button latches, arrayed on three sides of the case, provide ease-of-use versus previous iterations, and clamp the lid tight to keep dust, dirt, and water out. Case design features include an O-ring that seals it to an IP67-rating to be dust and waterproof, dual 5/16" (8mm) diameter stainless steel reinforced padlock holes, and a pressure relief valve. This valve regulates the internal pressure, keeping your gear and the case from getting crushed and allowing you to open the case without having to break a tough pressurized seal that may develop. A polycarbonate card holder may be placed on the front or side of the case.

Q: 1. I don't think this is carry on approved case.......at least for international flights.Foe example.......KLM to Europe....The dimensions on their website are 21.5x10x13.5 in.I'll fly to Europe next month and all my bags are too big.....Any advice?

A: The dimensions of carry-on luggage would be determined by the airline on which you will be traveling. According to KLM Royal Dutch Airlines website, a piece of hand baggage (carry-on luggage) may measure 21.5 x 10 x 13.5 in in size. While close in size, the exterior dimensions of the Pelican 1525Air Carry-On Case are listed as 21.96 x 13.97 x 7.49 , which are slightly over the dimensions listed by KLM. The closest case similar in size and build would be the HPRC 2530 Waterproof Hard Case with Cubed Foam (Black), B&H # HP2530FB, but it is still a few millimeters too wide for the carry-on size. It's exterior measurements are 21.3 x 13.8 x 6.0 , and would depend on how the airline measures the case as to if it will work (you may wish to contact the airline directly with the listed measurements). The closest case in build and size that we carry that fall under the regulations in all dimensions would be the Plano Large Designed Series Case, B&H # PLCDLB. While slightly smaller, other options you may consider would be either the Ape Case ACHC5600 Large Hard Case (Black/Gray), B&H # APACHC5600, the Lowepro Hardside 300 Photo Waterproof Hard Case with Removable Backpack (Black), B&H # LOH300CB, the Pelican 1485AirTP Compact Hand-Carry Case (Black, with TrekPak Insert), B&H # PE1485ACTPBK, or the Pelican iM2300 Storm Case with Padded Dividers (Black), B&H # PEIM2300DB.

Q: 2. What are the dimensions of the top divider area?

A: The lower divider is 21x16x7 and the upper section is 21x16x4.

Q: 3. Which Trekpak Insert Kit fits this case when purchasing the items seperately?

A: Sorry, but for some reason Pelican, the exclusive distributor of TrekPak, does not sell the TrekPak for the 1557 separately. Here are all the TrekPak kits we sell. https://bhpho.to/2IQ72lr You migh find one that works for you.

Q: 4. How many layers of foam is included or is it just one big block of pick foam?

A: It's one big block of pick and pluck foam.

Q: 5. Will this fit in overhead in a 737?

A: Please confirm with your airline: Exterior Dimensions 24.1 x 18.8 x 13.3" / 61.2 x 47.8 x 33.8 cm

Q: 6. with the padded divider can you move around the insert to suit your camera gear?

A: You can move the padded internal dividers, the base is a padded box inside the rigid plastic case.

Q: 7. Hi, can someone tell me what the dimensions are of the yellow divider tray?

In the Overview tab in this link it lists the dimensions for the different dividers it comes with. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1550927-REG/pelican_015070_4060_000_1507airds_divider_set.html

Q: 9. Is this the 2020 model with the easy-snap latches?

A: This is not the newest version--this one is: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1592648-REG/pelican_016070_0001_110_1607wf_air_case_with.html

Q: 10. Why can't I get the silver 1605 with the TrekPak Insert combo?

A: At this time, you can only get the TrekPak Divider Kit for Pelican 1605 Air Case, BH # TRPA1605CI and the Pelican 1605 Protector Air Case (Silver, Empty) as separate items. http://bhpho.to/2KnW6Su http://bhpho.to/3gNLxUZ

[Handle] This one is an odd shape but is great. Pelican quality and it will protect whatever you put in it.

[Empty] I wanted a case that would work for a couple of SLR bodies, several lenses, and a few accessories. This case is perfect for that while keeping weight down enough to carry easily. Build quality and protection is excellent. My only minor complaint is that the padded insert is not readily adjustable for lenses longer than medium telephotos.

[Yes] I've owned the Pelican 1510TP Carry-On Case with TrekPak Divider System and have really enjoyed it. But the new 1525TP case is much lighter and appears to be just as strong and sturdy. Being on the road most of the time protecting your camera equipment can't be understated. I always love the TrekPak Insert system and may consider adding a third case to add to my compliment of new lenses.

[Handle] I use the Pelican to carry audio and video gear on the road, and I have 100% confidence now that it will arrive in the exact same shape as it was when I left.

[Empty] Speedlights and smaller monolights can be a challenge to haul; cases are either too deep or too large. The Pelican 1525, especially when used with TrekPak dividers is a great combination. However, consider getting two divider kits for one case. I find the extra dividers are necessary.

[Latch] I recently took this case to Montana on a fly fishing trip. As advertised, it fit into the overhead compartment on both large and medium commercial jets with no problem. I carried the camera body, 3 lenses, mini tripod, 2 GoPro cameras, a host of cables and GoPro attachments. The case is tough rugged and can take a beating. There is plenty of padding inside for confidence in protection of equipment while traveling.
